Pat Roberts is actually swearing him in. Now Hayden is going to give his opening statement.
I think even the Repubs realize they couldn’t pull the old non-swearing in business on a nomination for the CIA post.
Roberts is a yes man and handler for the WH…he is a screwbag and nitwit. He has tone in his voice that is rather indignent to those around him. He is one of the bullies ont he schoolground.
I heard Roberts’ speech before about how wonderful our intelligence community is, wonderful, marvelous, excellent, whiz-bang, incredibly effective, perfect. Paraphrasing; ‘you can’t enjoy civil liberties if you’re dead’… fucking fear mongering twit. You also can’t enjoy civil liberties in a police surveillance state. His haughty attitude makes me want to explode. I immediately turned off the volume. My blood pressure can’t take this rubberstamp bullshit another second. I’m going outside to pull weeds like I’d like to pull Roberts and Hayden right out of their chairs and throw them into the compost pile. (I feel better already)

i think he means something along those lines. But it was intended to mean that he will be pushing for more of James Bond type of reckless risk taking ethos from the Directorate of Operations.

I have gotten called in to work here in about an hour. I have to say this one thing about Hayden. With all that has going on and the water under the nsa bridge, he is not very credible and he is nto going to do the job that needs to be done at the cia. Oh he might be able to organize and run something but he is not the right man for the job. Anyone who lies and does not know the constituion is someone who needs not be in such a position. He is guided by the WH and that is it. I do not believe anything he has to say, period. He is like the rest of them…liar…..liar….
Oh and…he will do what negroponte tells him to do…he is a yes man for him…negroponte is a yes man for the WH.

Hayden just eviscerated Douglas Feith’s Office of Special Plans and explained exactly how the intelligence was fixed around the policy. It was gold and people will be quoting it for years.

After listening to the hearing sporadically this morning, I think we are not going to get very much info at all out of the open hearing, seems like the questions we really want answers to are going to be closed door.
