got most of the horizontal 2X4s installed that go between the post to hold the 32; vertical 2X2s, and bolted the bottoms of the posts, which had just had temporary screws, and then the staining… I’m not a big fan of painting or staining.
Of course you know what you just said was completly over my head, but it sounds like you’re near the end. So that’s good.
I’d say NDD’s just about 2 weeks ahead of me .. I hope.

at the rural location I just let them go, and I get to see the rabbits and woodchucks out eating the seed pods.
And some people I know make wine out of the flowers. Versatile plant.
But here in the city everyone goes bizerk with the chem spray to kill them off.
My dad used to make a delicious wilted dandelion salad with warm bacon dressing.
warm bacon dressing?
Bacon drippings, vinegar, sugar, salt and peppa. Kind of like the dressing on german potato salad or spinach salad.
Best to eat the greens when they’re very young, or they’re too tough & bitter. The best part is the root, harvested early or late in the growing season. Use it in your coffee, if you drink it (or as a replacement) to keep your blood sugar level & the post-caffeine energy crash from occurring.
Folks are silly about this ‘weed’ to be sure. Meantime they’re looking to stabilize their sugar cravings & use — which dent de lion will also do.

When are your boys out of school?
Not until June 9th. The older guy graduates on the 10th.
OT I need to scream. His dad (my x)said he was going to come to graduation, then said he couldn’t afford it. This after buying 2 houses and a new car in the past 18 mos. Then I get an email from the dean of students that my ex has been hounding her to get a letter confirming my son’s graduation so he doesn’t have to pay child support for him anymore. What a dick.

He couldn’t care less. Which is Dad’s own damn fault for pulling crap like this all the time. He used to come down once a year to take them camping but he’s not this summer. Too busy with the new house.

I just got home a little while ago. I had to go to a Board Meeting for my daughter’s school. Even worse, I had to represent the parents, so I had to actually talk. Not fun when the school is in turmoil. Ugh. But, at least I got through it!
of ND as school issues. Most of which now a days revovle around declining enrollments, need to combine with other towns to make a viable situation.
Board members, parents reps, all thankless jobs, and sometimes just plain nightmares…

It’s pretty bad. I live in a terrible school district (bankrupt and taken over by the state, terrible) and so I put my kid in a relatively new charter school that is focused on the arts. Because it is new, and a charter, and an arts school, it has some serious problems. But, trying to get the administration to address the problems has been like pulling teeth.
Oh well, all parents worry about their kids’ schools. I just never had to worry as much as I do now.

we were smelling something. But we wrote it off to general pollen or something in the air, so maybe it was the honeysuckles. Need to make another hike to verify.
I remember, I can’t figure out how he missed the fragrance! But maybe it’s one of those more demure cousins in the fragrance department of the species.

I have the cache set to clear every 2 days… just some weird glitch. Think I fixed it?
Still in report hell, but it’s cooling down a little bit. Worked late tonight, then grilled with a friend of ours who’s in town briefly. Didn’t even see KO until about 9:30… then had to watch the last 45 min of Freaks on TCM… It’s been quite a long day.
Interesting… seems that Firefox somehow decided it needed a manual proxy setting to get in here… hmm. Anyway, reset to auto detect and that seems to have worked.
How’s everyone doing tonight? Haven’t had a chance to skim through yet due to page resets and other annoying things.
I’m on Firefox too, and no problems here. Though, heaven help me if I do, for I know so little about computers these days.
