Here an idea for watching and promoting Al Gore’s movie An Inconvenient Truth, and doing so while leaving as small a CO_2 footprint as possible.
Organize AIT car pools with your co-workers, friends and families to go and see ‘The Truth’ at the nearest theatre!

Today being a Friday, this would be an excellent weekend project for promoting Gore’s crusade to combat global warming. Make it a TGIF event! East-coasters may have just enough time to talk to co-workers by the time I post this diary (so, hurry!).
The idea came while conversing in ‘theboz’s diary A Convenient Introduction to An Inconvenient Truth, which gives an excellent introduction to the movie.
Please post about your efforts in the comments section below and at the AIT Blog. Also, tell everyone to visit the movie site and explore all the sections there: pledges, blog, science section, downloads,
I’ll leave you with an incredible review of the AIT by Roger Ebert, where he asserts:
In 39 years, I have never written these words in a movie review, but here they are: You owe it to yourself to see this film. If you do not, and you have grandchildren, you should explain to them why you decided not to.

Great idea… but may I suggest also arranging to travel on public transit pools for people who live in cities with such a system… otherwise, by all means, please car pool.
Absolutely. We were debating in the dkos thread over whether it would be more “carbon neutral” if one walked (if the theater is close enough) vs taking public transport.
I haven’t seen it yet because there is one theater plaing it and I have to drive down to the North Side of Chicago to see it.
I just got back from seeing the Omen. It really was pretty good. Very faithful to the original but with all the modern film making techniques, and big bassy sound effects.
I feel like a lousy liberal, but I promise, I’ll see it soon.
But I do think it’s a good idea for the heartier amongst you. Wanna pick me up?
