Goin’ Back To Harlan – Kate & Anna McGarrigle
Guilty Of Lovin’ You – Roy Rogers
(no, not that roy rogers, the side guitar roy rogers)
No Long Journey Home – Cowboy Junkies
M-O-N-E-Y – Lyle Lovett
Monday Morning Strangers…Soldier’s Story – Bill Wilson
I don’t know why, but it keeps calling up the same albums most of the time. I know I have a lot more in there than the one that keep coming up.
Your Secret’s Safe With Me – Robert Cray Band
Levon – Jon Bon Jovi
For Crying Out Loud – Meat Loaf
Social Disease – Elton John
Baby I’m-A Want You – Bread
dr o’neills – brock mcguire band
Nothin’s Gonna Stop Us Now – Chicago
Crimes Of The Heart – Kim Carnes
Saturday Night – The Eagles
Laugh Out Loud – Robert Cray Band
The Scent of the Bog/An Gasur Mor – Brendan Begley
Or I’m just to embarresed to admit my taste in music isn’t all that eclectic. 🙂
since my tastes appear to be a wee bit eclectic for some around here, lol. At least I threw in some Frank Zappa for good measure… I’d hope most at least know who he was! hehe
iTunes menu, then select “Preferences” and click the “Playback” button; make sure the “Smart Shuffle” slider is all the way to the right (“less likely”). That should help…
We’ve got a Robert Cray, Albert Collins, Johnny Copeland CD that is one of my favorites. I may have to queue that one up in a few minutes. Right now Etta James has my attention.
Little Deuce Coupe – The Beach Boys
Fear – Sarah McLachlan
Interstate Love Song – Stone Temple Pilots
Perfect Way – Scritti Politti
Locked Out (acoustic live) – Crowded House
Tiny Dancer – Elton John
Baker Street – Gerry Rafferty
I’m No Heroine – Ani DiFranco
The Ocean – Led Zeppelin
Barely Breathing – Duncan Sheik
Hey Andi … I’ve got nothing but fun stuff this w/e … I’ve got a photo class tomorrow (an introductory one) and that’s all the planned stuff. Everything else is just stuff we’d like to do and will if we want to … 🙂
Tomorrow’s my sister’s birthday and my niece is in and my mom came down so we’ll go over there tomorrow night (this is the kind of family gathering that I do like).
The weather is pretty iffy for both Sat. and Sun. but I hope we’ll get to go biking. If not, the dogs will be happy since it means a long walk instead.
I can understand. I get tired of it after 3 or 4 days. I can’t remember when we’ve had more than 5 straight days of rain here. Then again, hurricane season is upon us and I hope it’s not like last year.
Spouse is taking over the bed with his stuff, so I’ll wait till he’s done:
Somebody To Love — Queen
‘Til the Morning Comes — Roberta Flack
Sonata No. 14 in C-Sharp Minor “Moonlight”: I. Adagio sostenuto (comp. Beethoven) — Artur Rubenstein
My Bologna — “Weird Al” Yankovic
Listen to the Band — The Monkees
Hit Me With Your Best Shot — Pat Benatar
Gone — Pat Metheny
Hair — The Cowsills
Ball of Confusion (That’s What the World is Today) — The Temptations
Lies — Thompson Twins
Have you flown the cubicell yet or still stuck there? Hope you have a great weekend lined up… we’re finally supposed to get rain tonight, so keep your appendages crossed for us ok?
If it’s real hot, go get Bud some Frosty Paws I bet he’ll appreciate it! We gave ours one the other night when it was beastly hot and they really liked it.
but I’m waiting for another co-worker to finish a section of document I have to finalize. Hopefully I can get out of here before six o’clock.
Frosty Paws, eh? I’ll have to keep that in mind. It doesn’t take him much to freak out over a treat, sometimes I wonder if he’s part cow with numerous stomachs. Always. Starving.
Well glad you don’t have too much time left! About Frosty Paws if you’ve never gotten it… it’s like ice cream but no dairy, and is either meat of peanut butter flavored. Comes in little cups they just lick out of… try some on Bud, I bet he’ll love it!
Well I have to skeedaddle here as KO is coming on momentarily and I’m actually going to watch him live tonight.
Cheers to all, and hope to see you later… I’ll be back after dinner and maybe a movie tonight if I can stay awake. I’ve caught FM’s nap-itis bad today.
they are the best group I’ve ever seen live. I don’t miss their shows when they roll into town. Their new stuff takes on the neo-cons. Creo, creo cuando lo veo (I’ll believe it when I see it) Can’t wait for their next album!!!
At the December show they had the whole crowd shout together: “George Bush is a pendejo” Good times.
What’s wrong with braiding? I’m thinking of letting the nose hair grow and braid into the mustache. It will make it look fuller and when I have a cold, instant mustache wax. 🙂
If it wasn’t for my kids I’d still be listening to Dan Fogelberg and Jackson Browne exclusively…no Ozomatli, no Leftover Crack, no G-Love and Special Sauce…
Apparently all the girls were looking for someone sensitive and dashing in a mountain man sort of way. My first husband looked alot like him, though I never saw it or thought he was handsome. I guess I was subconsciously looking for Dan Fogelberg too.
Damn I just got back from breaking up another cat fight. There’s a new cat in the neighborhood and it’s giving my cat the devil of a time. Both of mine are getting up in age and I think this one likes the territory.
Hi FamilyMan!! I feel very good now that I’m past that procedure.
The nurses and doctor were very nice. I got to watch the whole thing on TV and the doctor gave a sort of guided tour through the whole thing. And the nurses held my hand and hugged me through it.
I used to have that same fear until my bypass surgey. After that, I said what the hell. I think if they started to do colonoscopy without the sleep, I would demand it. 🙂
About to do my backup, then stow away the external hard drive and shut down for the vacation — my next post, if all goes well, will be my secret vacation bunker somewhere down the road from Dick Cheney… lol
Second Suite in F, op.28; Gustav Holst / Cleveland Symphonic Winds; Frederick Fennell, cond.
Painter Song / Norah Jones
Marrow / Ani DiFranco
Neck Tie / Michelle Shocked
Conquer Me / Blues Traveler
Novette No.1 In D Flat Major – 2 / Moondog
Somebody Loves Me / Don Byron
Cool, Clear Water / Bonnie Raitt
The Sinister Minister / Béla Fleck & The Flecktones
Work Song / Butterfield Blues Band
Another 30 miles today. I piddled around this morning and had some errands to run so I didn’t ride as far as I should’ve. The weather was perfect and I found a mile of fresh balcktop. I felt like just doing laps on that stretch of road, but I needed to end the ride.
Any way 430 mi on the way to 2,000+ mi. Thanks for asking.
Just this week I starting using my iTunes and have been looking forward to joining in the random 10s. It’s not all that random, though, since I don’t have too many cds in yet, but here goes:
Wonderwall – – Oasis
Tired of Waiting — The Kinks
Two out of Three Ain’t Bad — Meatloaf (hey, someone else had Meatloaf in here earlier — what are the odds?)
Let it Be Me — Social Distortion
Generals & Majors — XTC
What I Like About You — The Romantics (80s flashback alert!)
Paradise By The Dashboard Light — Meatloaf again!!
Tainted Love — Soft Cell
Ruby’s Arms — Tom Waits
Ring of Fire — Social Distortion (again — I’ll have to load a lot more cds before next Friday)
You’re right! I love that song, but don’t know anyone else who likes it. I actually saw a whole show on VH1 about the making of that album, and it was pretty interesting. IIRC, the guy who wrote it was interested in making a play, and Meatloaf was from Broadway? Something like that — I was sick at the time, so the details are sort of fuzzy.
I’m tired! I met my friend and her 7-month old daughter for lunch. It was great, but I forgot how strong and squirmy babies are at that age! But it was worth it — she’s adorable.
Babies are great when you don’t have to change them and everything else. That’s the reason I’m so happy to see my great nieces and nephews now. I can always hand them back for a change. 🙂

Andi, you are always reminding me how much we should pull out the Etta James more often, but we only have 1 of her CDs, the rest is on tape or vinyl 🙁
Kind of like my Patsy Cline collection… only on vinyl and languishes away, though I love her stuff.
We have cd versions of a good chunk of our vinyl but like you a lot of it has gone unheard for a long time.
I don’t know why, but it keeps calling up the same albums most of the time. I know I have a lot more in there than the one that keep coming up.
Your Secret’s Safe With Me – Robert Cray Band

Don’t eat the yellow snow. 🙂
I wish I had the patience to transfer my vinyl to computer again, but that is somthing that will wait again for a long time.
Suzy Creamcheese either doesn’t hang around here or does but has grow as a person in the intervening years.
Cheers to all of the BooTribbers in Vegas from the ugliest part of my body.
iTunes menu, then select “Preferences” and click the “Playback” button; make sure the “Smart Shuffle” slider is all the way to the right (“less likely”). That should help…
(this “Tech Tip” brought to you at no cost…)
Thanks Cali.
Or click on the crossed arrows at the bottom of the Source column when you have Library highlighted.

Hi Indy how’s it going? I actually know a fair amount of your.
It’s going all right, Family Man, thanks for asking. 🙂
How you doing Indy? Hope you’re more settled now and things are going well.
But Scritti Politti? Lordy, it’s been ages since I even thought of them!
Heh, the best of the cheesy 80s.
Good to see ya! :*
Anything fun on your dance card this weekend?
Hey Andi … I’ve got nothing but fun stuff this w/e … I’ve got a photo class tomorrow (an introductory one) and that’s all the planned stuff. Everything else is just stuff we’d like to do and will if we want to … 🙂
How about you guys?
I hope you have lots of fun at the class.
Sounds like a good w/e for you too … you don’t work on the w/e do you?
all ya’ll ever get up there?
But I’m okay w/ the rain … so I don’t have to water the garden. It’s just when it rains for 3wks straight that we get a little sun-crazy.
I can understand. I get tired of it after 3 or 4 days. I can’t remember when we’ve had more than 5 straight days of rain here. Then again, hurricane season is upon us and I hope it’s not like last year.
re-arrange my work hours. I don’t do it too much but sometimes I’ll decide to slough off some during the week and do some work on the weekend instead.
but I’m such a procratinator I would probably get into trouble …
but then most of my work gets billed by the hour and has a deadline so that pretty well enforces discipline.
Are you cozied up on your loveseat?
Sorry to FRT & run but I’m still sick, and my housemate is bringing me home some dinner so I’m going to go eat and
rest. 🙂 See y’all lata. {{Cafe}}
Did Gerry Rafferty have any other songs that got air play after “Baker Street?”
Damn fine one-hit-wonder if the answer is no.
Spouse is taking over the bed with his stuff, so I’ll wait till he’s done:

‘Til the Morning Comes — Roberta Flack

Pretty much the last gasp…
Hi Cali. I know a lot of yours too. I’m on a roll tonight.
Have you flown the cubicell yet or still stuck there? Hope you have a great weekend lined up… we’re finally supposed to get rain tonight, so keep your appendages crossed for us ok?

See ya later and good for you on the nap-itis. 🙂
Is Aqualung named after the Jethro Tull album or is it a coincidence?
according to Wiki it’s just a coincidence but has fueled “much speculation” . 🙂
Sitting on a park bench
Watching little girls with bad intent…
Speculation indeed…
Ozomatli is one of my sons’ favorite bands. They’re coming to the art museum this summer!
they are the best group I’ve ever seen live.
What’s a pendejo? I’m guessing dick.
LMAO, I just checked out wiki and it mentions pubic hair. 😀 I always considered it a synonym for idiot.
Ok, my Spanish isn’t that good. The only thing I know for sure is pollo is not pronounced like POLO.
Pendejo just sounded like it would be an appendage to me. But the wiki entry is even funnier. Anal hair? Ick.
wrong with anal hair? As long as it’s not long enough to braid, I don’t see a problem here. 8-]
That’s it – I’m not fixing you up with my daughter. And you would have had such cute kids.
I guess it won’t help my cause to blame the post on the basset hound, eh?
No, and now I have to say goodbye to the darling little brown haired granddaughter named Sophia and my dog-son in law, Bud.
What’s wrong with braiding? I’m thinking of letting the nose hair grow and braid into the mustache. It will make it look fuller and when I have a cold, instant mustache wax. 🙂
:::wretching sound:::
make that retching sound.
I knew there was something I was missing by not having kids. Oh well, too late now; I’ll just finish out my days being musically unwith-it. 🙁
If it wasn’t for my kids I’d still be listening to Dan Fogelberg and Jackson Browne exclusively…no Ozomatli, no Leftover Crack, no G-Love and Special Sauce…
Nothing wrong with Dan Fogelberg and Jackson Browne. All this new fangled music. What are these kids thinking. 🙂
I have a male friend who curses Dan Fogelberg as the reason he never got laid in college.
Back in those days how could he had not?
Apparently all the girls were looking for someone sensitive and dashing in a mountain man sort of way. My first husband looked alot like him, though I never saw it or thought he was handsome. I guess I was subconsciously looking for Dan Fogelberg too.
I’ve always found the tall geekey look worked well for me. Then again, it’s the only look I ever had.
Tall is good.
Damn I just got back from breaking up another cat fight. There’s a new cat in the neighborhood and it’s giving my cat the devil of a time. Both of mine are getting up in age and I think this one likes the territory.
Any suggestions.
bottles filled with water… or a water pistol… or maybe a super shooter would do the trick? See ya later, slackeroo… hope you can stay up late tonight!
If only ww was around — I’m sure she’d have some advice…
It’s just one of those things I’ll have to figure out. Probably end up with another outside cat.
How’s everyone?
Hi KB. How’re you feeling?
Hi FamilyMan!! I feel very good now that I’m past that procedure.
The nurses and doctor were very nice. I got to watch the whole thing on TV and the doctor gave a sort of guided tour through the whole thing. And the nurses held my hand and hugged me through it.
Just got back KB. So you were awake during this. I have 2 and have never been awake once.
I’d love to sleep through it. But I have a fear of being knocked out.
I used to have that same fear until my bypass surgey. After that, I said what the hell. I think if they started to do colonoscopy without the sleep, I would demand it. 🙂
Hope you are recovering nicely and being pampered.
I’m totally recovered. Didn’t let them knock me out. So the hardest part of the recovery was catching up on the sleep I lost last night.
Here’s a pic of me from about an hour ago:
So what’s going on in that picture?
I was Getting Fresh Air!
ah, I thought maybe you were doing a sit-down hula. Now, that I think about it — that would make a good cubicle exercise.
Of course, if you did that around my dogs, they would come stand under your arms, assuming that you were calling them over to get petted.
Which would probably be much more fun and just as much exercise. Wouldn’t it?
that you could try it on the couch instead:
I’ll try it tomorrow. For tonight the photo of Sniff could be me. (yawn)
I’ve pretty much pooped out.
Good to hear that you’re feeling better!
Hi, Olivia! Yes, I feel much better.
About to do my backup, then stow away the external hard drive and shut down for the vacation — my next post, if all goes well, will be my secret vacation bunker somewhere down the road from Dick Cheney… lol
Hold the fort, folks…
Got to go run and errand.
Be back in a minute.
I’m not sure what mood iTunes was in tonight.

How is everyone tonight?
Might be a quiet night since a lot of the regulars in experiencing neon overload.
Glad you slipped the Kinks in there — we dinosaurs like to see that good old dinosaur music.
I love the Kinks! In the car today, I heard “Sunny Afternoon,” too.
“Paradise by the Dashboard Light” would have been a 3 hour opera in Italian if it had been written 400 years ago. Hmmm, maybe it was.
I’m not much into opera, but I guess Meatload has the stature for an opera singer.
But I like Meatload and think it describes him much more accurately.
The keyboard isn’t typing what my fingers are saying. 🙂
How funny! Meatload … lol!
You’re right! I love that song, but don’t know anyone else who likes it. I actually saw a whole show on VH1 about the making of that album, and it was pretty interesting. OK I will try again.
I’m here now, so time to start a new lounge.
In the meantime…
Another try at capturing the rose-loaded picket fence during my 5K workbreak.
Hi MM. The roses are beautiful. My rose bushes outside are doing much. I guess if I watered them something might happen. 🙂
A little Miracle Gro and watch out!
Water seems to be the magical ingredient!
I’m going to run and open a 24/7. Be right back.
clomp, clomp, cough, hack, gag, clomp, clomp, hack, hack, wheeze, spit.
