Morning Folks!!!!! It is good to be home. I get to pick the Diva Dogs up later today. I really do miss them girls and it feels so weird not to have them here with me at home but there was no way to pick them up on a sunday. Now that the convention is over it is time to concentrate on getting elections won in November.
Andi and I were listening to one of your podcasts over the weekend and heard the Diva dogs offering their 2¢. I’ve been doing a lot of reading on podcasting, I spent some time at a library listening to several k12 podcasts and got some good ideas on dos-and-don’ts. I seem to have many options, too many options.
Boredom is a state of mind and I always have something going on. I prefer to be busy at all times. My favorite way to relax is go out with friends and have a fun evening talking political strategy. LOL
I agree with you on the state of mind. I remember when my kids were little they would come in and say there’s nothing to do. At first I would go and try to find things to entertain them. After awhile, I found that if we did projects together, like cleaning their rooms, they weren’t so bored anymore. 🙂
I’ve always been lucky in that doing nothing comes naturally, so I’m never bored. 🙂
Andi, the hounds, and I just got back from Andi’s “walk around the block.” I see you got up early this morning; planning on napping later? I did the same thing, and after my bike ride a nap may be in order.
So much for his medical privacy huh? I guess we’re going to have to kill him everyday for another week and see if we can get those poll numbers up! We’re getting a slide show too……Wow, Oh Boy! Makes me sick! Who gets off on hearing the post mortem? Getting a power point presentation on blast injuries now!
The thing is that could describe how most of the American soldiers died too, but they’re hoping people don’t realize that little tidbit. Let’s focus on the way he died and not the renewed energy of a thousand other Zarqawis rushing to fill the void before his body cooled.
You’re way ahead of me MT! I can’t even stand to watch it. IMHO they should just put his head on a stake outside the WH and get it over with! This ghoulishness makes me sick and I hate to think of the people who are getting off on it.
My son is flying in from Cleveland this afternoon (boy will his arms be tired…yuk yuk) and I haven’t seen him in a year. He may be married and mixing $10 martinis for a living but this is how I remember him.
When I was younger and came home that was something I always had to watch. Then I learned a few curse words in another language and that seemed to do. 🙂
Nah, his wife isn’t coming. They couldn’t afford to both miss work. She’s been “in” our family for almost 7 years and we love her to pieces. That’s easy for me to say because she’s startingly like me.
How is everyone? I’m still a little sleepy this morning.
Vegas was fun. It was great to meet maryb and boran2 and brementown musician and kid oakland and Cedwyn, and to see other folks I’ve met at previous meetups/the DCmarch again
I think I have a few more pictures to upload and post too.
I am feeling like a bowl of stale ass, thanks for asking, CG. At this point I don’t know if I’m still battling lingering infection and/or seeing a flare in my autoimmune disease (specifically, the adrenal aspect of it). Ever since I got the damn autoimmune thinger, sick is never simple anymore. I have a call in to my local doctor-friend to get me in to see an endocrinologist in early July to find out what the hell’s going on.
Thanks for clearing that up. I thought ass was ass. BTW, you remind me of my daughter in law. She says “I feel like ass” or “it smells like ass” all the time.
I hope the doctor is able to sort the problem out quickly, so you feel better! Aren’t you getting together with SN and Andi soon?
Vegas was like, so money, baby. I had a great time, even though it is the weirdest place I’ve visited in a long time (maybe ever?). And now that I’m home, I can catch up on all that sleep I went without. 🙂
Instead of a futon… how about a threeton! I’d love to join you all once your freshen up your stale ass, ((((Indy))) 🙂 Hope you start feeling more yourself soon babydoll.
during your cross-country trip. (You could get into it in a serious way and start a rating service: Hampton Inn: +3 for smell and skin feel; Motel 6: -8 for sliminess)
Apparently the dogs actually noticed I was missing, and were restless Friday night, looking for me to show up. The CBs didn’t miss me very much (sniff!), although I think CBtE was happy to see my wallet return safe and sound to pay for his yearbook today. 🙂
How’s the summer vacation going? Jim out riding today?
Trying to get myself back on track after majorly crashing the past two days…I don’t want to spend my whole vacation here in the secure vacation bunker…
After the prices at the last two nice dinners we had, I’m very glad the food on the cruise is paid for. lol Definitely going to eat lighter today…my goal is still to return home the same weight as when I left…hardy har har…
In the past year my husband has been to Japan, France, Seattle, Florida twice, Maryland 4 times, Vegas, and a couple other places that I can’t think of right now. He almost never sees the city he’s in except for the IBM or customer facility and the hotel. What a waste. I say leave the spouse at the computer or sleeping and just get out of the hotel…walk around or take a bus.
Good morning everyone. Primary day is tomorrow! I was going to post a comment about it all but it got way too long. Will you visit me in my diary for a bit?
Some of us were up too late last night, and I’m amazed FM is still here, or trying to nap his way out at this point. So morning howdies to all you folks out there, Andi and Jim, RF, SN, CG, FM, Indy, Cali and whoever I missed.
Shaping up to be warmer (77 supposedly) and sunnier today, just in time to not make up for the dreary and chilly short weekend we had. Well I did get at least one constructive thing done this weekend besides slacking. (Note new sig line.)
Hope everyone has a great day, and I hope to check back in later … ciao for now folks!
I have the rosemary swigs/swags/swhatever – hanging from the dining room fireplace. The entire house smells lovely. I will use them to grill as you suggested.
Hey there, folks — good morning! Good to see y’all up & at ’em (or at least up).
Boy o boy, what a weekend. First, our thoroughly corrupt GOP Town Supervisor rams into my car with his immense, shiny new truck (costing him a plastic bumper; my car just looks shittier than it aleady did). Then I find out that I’m being thrown out of my home according to agreed-upon vacancy date, despite the fact that I’ve yet to construct a place to live. No negotiation possible, no deposit, no return. My landlords are thorough, absolute jerks.
Other than my preoccupation with these thoughts, it’s a lovely day. Time to really start packing up in earnest — an effort that includes the computer & hope my labors won’t be truncated by a visit by the State Police.
That sounds dreadful! Your landlord really sounds like a total asshole! And sorry about your car. That just totally sucks. I hope his insurance has to pay!
Hang in there! I’m glad you can see the beautiful day despite all these hassles.
WW I just got back from haircutting. I am so sorry to hear this. As Andi said, I wished I lived near you so you would have a place to stay.
If I had any weather magic to throw, I would toward your landload. Not to hurt anyone, but to make him think the sun and light had left the day you left.
Thanks very much, Miss O — & to everyone else who’s offered such terrific support. It’s just good to know y’all are in my corner. My basic plan is just to chill out & get on with it.
(Computer crashed so I couldn’t reply earlier.)
The Maytal’s ‘Pressure Drop’ seems to be drifting through my head nowadays. Hope to see y’all soon.
From the Encino Farmer’s Market!
Thanks for the flower.
I hope you got some sleep last night (or at least are about to get some).
I hope so too! See you soon…
I’m sure the Diva Dogs will be even happier to be home than you are to have them there.
LOL I am sure you are right.
Hey Refinish,
Andi and I were listening to one of your podcasts over the weekend and heard the Diva dogs offering their 2¢. I’ve been doing a lot of reading on podcasting, I spent some time at a library listening to several k12 podcasts and got some good ideas on dos-and-don’ts. I seem to have many options, too many options.
LOL well the Diva Dogs are my editors on all things. Hope you enjoyed the podcast. I did another one this am.
Texas Politics
I also did a new design this am.
Taking Back Texas
Good morning Andi, MM, Refinish and Jim.
How’s everyone this am?
Morning FamilyMan!!!! I am great and I hope you are.
I’m doing fine and hope you are rested up.
Weell as rested as I ever get. Now is time to get some things done that fell behind while I was out of town. LOL
You’re just a force a nautre Refinish. 🙂
ROTFLMAO!!!! I don’t know about that but I have so many things going I have to do them when I get the chance.
I think boredom would have a hard time finding a place in you vocabulary.
Boredom is a state of mind and I always have something going on. I prefer to be busy at all times. My favorite way to relax is go out with friends and have a fun evening talking political strategy. LOL

Hi FM,
Andi, the hounds, and I just got back from Andi’s “walk around the block.” I see you got up early this morning; planning on napping later? I did the same thing, and after my bike ride a nap may be in order.
Hi Jim. I got the day started and it didn’t last long. 🙂
I think another nap might be in order to restart the day.
Well I’m going to get started early today.
Everyone have a good day in the pond.

Do you remember the diapers too? Sometimes it’s good for kid to grow up. 🙂
I know you won’t believe this, but I’d go back and change those 4000 diapers all over again if I could.
Have a great week driving him crazy. 🙂
Bring him by for a visit some time so we can regale him with what a luscious, scrumptious, witty, and filthy-minded mom he has.
What a great idea! I’ll see if I can get him to make an appearance. The lounge really would be the natural place since he’s a bartender.
I wonder if he still strokes his hair like that when he’s falling asleep? Ok, slap me.
He’ll probably be going Aw Mom, or something similar, the whole time he’s there. 🙂
ROTFLMAO!!!! I bet he will and trying to keep his language clean. LOL
When I was younger and came home that was something I always had to watch. Then I learned a few curse words in another language and that seemed to do. 🙂
I hope not. He learned most of those words at my knee!
Is his wife coming too so you get to practice being the perfect mom-in-law? (I have the world-greatest m-i-l so I’m an excellent judge.)
Nah, his wife isn’t coming. They couldn’t afford to both miss work. She’s been “in” our family for almost 7 years and we love her to pieces. That’s easy for me to say because she’s startingly like me.
not just startingly but startlingly too. 🙂
How sweet. I am sure all Mom’s remember their child as a baby. My mom still treats me as one most of the time. LOL
I’m happy for you, SN!
What a beautiful child you have.
Now that’s a huggable little treasure if I ever saw one!
So what’s new?
Hi CG. Glad you’re home safe and had a good time.
Hi FM. Now I just need to get back to my slackerly ways.
What did you bring me? What did you bring me?
How about a Warner YearlyKos T-shirt? 🙂
I guess that’s better than trial sizes of shampoo and lotion from the hotel.
Heh, I’ll take the shampoo & the lotion, please.
Hi Indy! Are you feeling better this week? (I know you caught some “bug” over the Memorial day holiday.)
How was Vegas, baby? 🙂
Is stale ass worse than fresh ass – ’cause I’m not sure.
Fresh implies clean to me, so yeah, imo stale is worse. 🙂
Thanks for the good wishes. I wanted to get together with them soon but the stale ass/doctor sitch may delay it until a later time.
Vegas is a totally weird place. Against my better judgment, I kinda like it there. Sweet dreams, hon.
You’re dashing my dreams of sharing a futon with you.
No, I’m just giving you time to make them as creative as possible.
Instead of a futon… how about a threeton! I’d love to join you all once your freshen up your stale ass, ((((Indy))) 🙂 Hope you start feeling more yourself soon babydoll.
Indy I hope you get into see the doctor soon, and I hope you feel better soon.
Morning!!!!!
Hey RF! I saw your diary re: the organizing you went to do and how prejudice reared its ugly head there. I’m sorry that happened. 🙁
during your cross-country trip. (You could get into it in a serious way and start a rating service: Hampton Inn: +3 for smell and skin feel; Motel 6: -8 for sliminess)
I never use the products in the hotel rooms. My various psychological disturbances require that I bring my own.
Slightly.
So who was happier that you were back — the CBs or the dogs?
Apparently the dogs actually noticed I was missing, and were restless Friday night, looking for me to show up. The CBs didn’t miss me very much (sniff!), although I think CBtE was happy to see my wallet return safe and sound to pay for his yearbook today. 🙂
How’s the summer vacation going? Jim out riding today?
my money was on the dogs (when I travel Jim’s greetings can never match that full-body waggle the dogs do).
It’s been very cool (lows in the 50s) so his bike-riding has been a late-in-day activity — which he likes since it gives him more time to do nothing.
I am envious of your 50s – the temp. that is.
We have reached the time of year where the air feels like a hot, wet blanket that threatens to suffocate you.
and I am really hoping it last all the way through the summer but that’s not very likely.
Well I’m going to try and start the day again.
George has a big surprize in store for him today, I hope.
Trying to get myself back on track after majorly crashing the past two days…I don’t want to spend my whole vacation here in the secure vacation bunker…

Thanks to our choco stashes we should make it through the day … although I have them splayed out on my desk instead of hidden in a drawer … 🙂
Let me know how that marinade turns out.
I have the rosemary swigs/swags/swhatever – hanging from the dining room fireplace. The entire house smells lovely. I will use them to grill as you suggested.

But c’est la vie.
God, that sucks WW! I wish I could do something to help you out – sending good thoughts hardly seems to do it.
Good thoughts are highly appreciated, o luscious one. They help balance my nasty ones.
😉
Damn, WW, that is just shitty. I wish I was closer so you could come stay here until you had your place ready.
That sounds dreadful! Your landlord really sounds like a total asshole! And sorry about your car. That just totally sucks. I hope his insurance has to pay!
Hang in there! I’m glad you can see the beautiful day despite all these hassles.

The Maytal’s ‘Pressure Drop’ seems to be drifting through my head nowadays. Hope to see y’all soon.
The band is Toots & the Maytals (plural).
OK, see ya! Thanks again, folks.
Sorry to hear this. I’m not too far away from you if you need help with anything.
Oh no!!! WW!!!!! I second what Andi said.
Good afternoon to all! Regards to the unhost.
Hello Boran. Have you recovered from Vegas?
Still jet-lagged and very tired. How are you? I still need help with my lawn. 😉
No help on the lawn. I’ve got mine done. 🙂
Jet Lag – Slack heavily today.
I hate to sound… sexist…
But I saw your photo and hot damn!!! You’re are really good looking!! Whooot!
< blushing > Hugs to you, DJ!
see, what you do to me!
Oh wait.. I always type like that – nevermind 🙂
Glad you had a great time and were able to meet some incredible peace-ple
