The best deli in Indianapolis (and the state and surrounding states for that matter) just happens to be on the way home from the airport. The only thing better than their corned beef is their pastrami. Just sayin’
Oh jeebus, FM got the clippers out today! I’m not going to say “oh poor, George,” because I understand the dog hair conundrum, and he probably does feel cooler with it short.
But that look in the 2nd picture… I’ve seen that type of look before and he’s not amused!
Pretty boring mostly, but almost over… thought I’d peek in and say hey. Oh, btw, re:pendejo down thread… read that Wiki, and have to add something I was told by an Hispanic friend when I lived in FL. Pendejo certainly does/can mean all the examples they cited, but the short and sweet my friend gave me was … “It’s a dingleberry.”
Please, no one ask me to explain that one, because I likely would, and that would not be pretty!
I know how he feels. Not from my own experience of having been shorn (I don’t like it when my hair gets long), but we had this poodle mix once, and when we decided to move across the country we shaved him just before the move. He was completely embarrassed and tried to climb under the sear of our station wagon where no one could see him.
So we just let his hair grow out again. It made it hard to figure out which was the end you really shouldn’t try to scratch, but at leats he was happy.
OK, behave or I’ll have to get out the whip and chair.
I know, I know, “sticks and stones can break my bones, but whips and chains excite me.” Yeah yeah yeah.
Actually I was just talking to one of my cow orkers. He just got his hair cut short and donated his mane to a project called Locks for Love that makes wigs for kids with cancer and the like, which I thought was cool. I’m never going to let my hair get that long, though. I don’t like it long.
I was just a babe when this dude was rocking the movies. I just bought and saw “Bullitt” for the first time and oh my wet panties… Steve McQueen… WOW!!!
Him’s da man! Yeah I know he’s passed on.. but DAMN!!! He’s one hot, strong kick ass man.
Got the great escape and magnificent 7… and will have to watch those. I guess what I like about his, too, was the stories I’ve heard about him doing his own stunts, how he lived with his illness…
Plus he’s just so damn… sexy 🙂
Oh and I picked up Neil Youngs Living with War. I doubt he’d call me anti-american for this weekend. Still hearing the echoes of hate from saturday… as I replied to your recent post elsewhere. This last one was a toughie for me. And it’s changed my husband alot. He now totally gets what I’m doing and he’s telling his friends to “change” as well. He gets the need for daily, critical thinking and decisions, you know. 🙂
As I shared with my hockey friends… just wait till tomorrow after I watch Pacino in Serpico… I’m sure my head and panties will implode! 🙂 Counter-culture hottie movie.
I actually don’t care much for the movie (not a big fan of caper movies) but he’s extremely sexy in the Thomas Crown Affair.
Your husband’s getting it dovetails with what I was saying — each person, each protest has an impact on the people witnessing them. But I understand how tough it is to be one that one who out there constantly facing all that ugliness — and just one of the reasons why I admire you so much (not to mention your ability to provide the cafe with gawd-awful pastel colored drinks).
Peace and keep keeping them honest and their ugly opinions out there Janet. Little by little their hate will be their undoing. At some point people will see the Marine ‘mock’ executing you and the woman with a baby and be so appalled, walk up and stand next to you. And that will be the end of their psychotic reign.
Thanks SpiderLeaf 🙂 Many did join after that one “spokesperson” an entire family can be seen joining us in one photo… the mom took ahold of a sign while her three kids watched – they ended up marhicng with us.
Admire?? Ha! I’m the marcher who is the one checking to make sure her pants are zipped up. LOL
Ha! I was all tense and while marching I stepped in a pothole… I leaned over to M from CodePink and did a Madeling Kahn (Empress Nympho) impression of “knock that shit off, I almost fell!” 🙂 Which got her laughing. … I can still find the funny stuff sometimes
But it takes it’s toll. And the funny clowns who appear “strong” are the ones who have to get home and rejuve by bawling their eyes out or sit in a dark closet and wonder… “wtf am I doing?”
But I think that’s true with alot of people that others find “funny” or “strong” or both… and I’m realizing that I really need to “center” myself before and afterwards and that it’s not a sign of weakness. So I’m now embracing that in myself and my husband got some advice about it and what Im possibly going through and therefore need when I get back or gear up. Ahh fuck it…. I can’t explain it with words… it’s very complicated… as most simple things are LOL
Also “Le Mans” — second best racing movie ever made.
Story’s kinda crummy, plot’s more or less nonexistent, (as also in the BEST racing movie ever made…) but wtf, it’s about the cars and the drivers, not the plot… and McQueen did his own driving, which is NOT a small thing in a 917 Porsche – them’s big fast hairy scary cars.
Yeah, I kinda dig that he did his own stunts… but what I got a kick out of was seeing the look of absolute love from my spouse when I held the DVD in my hands and said “we have to get this!” and the look of “pretty damn cool” from the men around him. It is soooooooooo not a “chick flick” LOL
We picked up
Serpico
Original King Kong
The Sting
and Neil Youngs CD “living with war”.
Ahhhh, The Sting . . . IMO one of the best-written movies ever. Great cast, great acting, great music and great camerawork too.
I saw a Paul Newman movie this weekend . . . sort of. He does the voice for one of the main characters in Cars. Which is cool, because the movie is about racing cars and Newman used to race cars (maybe he still does for all I know). They had a bunch of other famous racing and automotive types doing voices too, including Mario Andretti, Richard Petty, Darrel Waltrip, Michael Schumacher, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tom and Ray Magliozzi from Car Talk. (Actually I had to look most of those names up because what I know about auto racing you could put in your eye and not even blink, but I figure this might be meaningful to someone.)
You didn’t need to cut his hair… all you had to do was roll his little, hairy Georgie body in some Angelfood cake and the loose hair problemo would be gone… for a good 30 minutes, tops.
is that FamilyMan would have a “swell” gifty to send to any Red organization seeking donations. As well as a sweet present to those cuzins he makes mentions of.
Only chocolate milk and a chocolate bar so far … I think I might be able to hang on ’til the end of the day though, and pick up some choco ice cream or something on the way home.
How are you doing after hardly any sleep last night?
Now I have a little plastic cup from PF Changs with a luck kitten on it – she now uses that to drink out of, however she still has to come and taste test all our water, wine and iced coffee… it’s her job.
Wilderness Wench – you can sleep here in the Cafe until your new domicile is ready.
SN that a beatiful picture there.
Thanks FM. I couldn’t get him to stay still for me. He kept flitting from place to place just as I was focusing in on one spot.
How’s George’s haircut coming along? Pictures?
Could be “Buzzy Day”, too 🙂
I think that bee has carnal knowledge of that lucky flower 🙂
I think you did an excellet job on the picture.
George is drying right now. I didn’t buzz cut him, but he still looks scraggly.
I’ve got some pictures I’ll post in a little while.
What times is the baby supposed to get in?
His flight comes in at 5:30. I’ll have to remember to bring some diapers and formula to the airport. He did stop breastfeeding a while ago, you know.
Hey, where’d that corned beef on rye go? That looked soooo good!
today so you could concentrate on “your baby”.
(it was pastrami — my favorite)
Sorry, that was thoughtful of you. Now I’m really craving a deli sandwich. I probably won’t be around to put up another one later. 🙂
The best deli in Indianapolis (and the state and surrounding states for that matter) just happens to be on the way home from the airport. The only thing better than their corned beef is their pastrami. Just sayin’
Don’t need to say it again. Course I’ll probably be full from the 3 mini pretzels on the plane.
more photos of Boran2! 🙂
Janet you’re going to have to settle for George. 🙂
George before the clipping
George Wet and after the clipping.
I’m waiting for him to completely dry before I take another picutre.
It’s bad enough you put him through this without making his humilation public. Tsk, tsk.
I figure if he’s going to be mad at me, I just as well get the whole thing done, pictures and all.
Couple of days and he should be over it.
Oh jeebus, FM got the clippers out today! I’m not going to say “oh poor, George,” because I understand the dog hair conundrum, and he probably does feel cooler with it short.
But that look in the 2nd picture… I’ve seen that type of look before and he’s not amused!
Did make me laugh though!
What’s up IVG. How’s the day going?
Pretty boring mostly, but almost over… thought I’d peek in and say hey. Oh, btw, re:pendejo down thread… read that Wiki, and have to add something I was told by an Hispanic friend when I lived in FL. Pendejo certainly does/can mean all the examples they cited, but the short and sweet my friend gave me was … “It’s a dingleberry.”

I get the idea.
Oh my!!! I’m not sure if that’s cute or… just too damn funny :)George is a blast!!!
I’ll let George know you think he’s a blast. Maybe that’ll cut down the mad time. 🙂
McQueen, Boran2 and George! Oh My!
He looks like he’s scowling at you in that bottom pic!
Congrats on a job well done FM … 🙂
I think George is plotting to do something dark and sinister to FamilyMan’s footwear.
I know how he feels. Not from my own experience of having been shorn (I don’t like it when my hair gets long), but we had this poodle mix once, and when we decided to move across the country we shaved him just before the move. LOL, Omir! 🙂
Im trying to not thinking dirty thoughts about a “shorn OMIR” 🙂
Shorn: I think that’s what some of us gutterminds call “manscaping” 🙂
OK, behave or I’ll have to get out the whip and chair.
I know, I know, “sticks and stones can break my bones, but whips and chains excite me.” Yeah yeah yeah.

I’ve heard of that organization
But the manscaping… I don’t think it could grow that long to donate it – and I’m not sure someone would want a wig made out of it…
if you think it – they will make a website of it… I guess there are some needs for merkins… ACK
I loved that movie but I loved the car more than him.
If you haven’t already, check him out in The Great Escape, Baby the Rain Must Fall, and The Magnificent Seven.
Got the great escape and magnificent 7… and will have to watch those. I guess what I like about his, too, was the stories I’ve heard about him doing his own stunts, how he lived with his illness…

I always thought he was good in the movie Papillon.
I just read he was considered a counter-culture icon.. I guess that explains why I’m digging him now ROFL… I’m rather counter-culture now 😀
I’m rather counter-culture now 😀
Good for you.
As I shared with my hockey friends… just wait till tomorrow after I watch Pacino in Serpico… I’m sure my head and panties will implode! 🙂 Counter-culture hottie movie.

beautiful and true comment Andi.
beautiful and true Janet who inspired it.
Thank you for bearing the brunt of it for us.
Thanks SpiderLeaf 🙂 Many did join after that one “spokesperson” an entire family can be seen joining us in one photo… the mom took ahold of a sign while her three kids watched – they ended up marhicng with us.

Those are two excellent movies. I have both on DVD somewhere around the house.
Also “Le Mans” — second best racing movie ever made.

Pre-protest shopping you might call it LOL

Redford and Newman – two more hotties 🙂
I think my favorite Newman movie (today at this moment, as I always change my mind and world) … is “Cool Hand Luke” 😉
Yeah, I’ve often wondered why they didn’t do more movies together. They just seem like they work so well together.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid…
You know what kinda irks me…is you find the same people in the same movies together… kinda like the Brat Pack of the 80’s.
Look at the BenStillerOwenWilsonVinceVaughn movies lately… I mean they are funny and I have em all… LOL… but… why
My computer is screwing up. I’ll check back in awhile.
I blame George… 🙂
… he musta peed on FM’s computer in retribution … 🙂
The addage… it’s better to be pissed off than pissed on.
George Strikes Back
soon to be followed by
The Return of the Blogi
I’m back and George has already forgiven me.
The computer was kind of wet though. 🙂
Wet??
I’ll have to teach George how to eat angelfood cake at the keyboard.
hhhe ll llikeee iitt
I didn’t think George could get up to the computer, but while napping I don’t know.
Angelfood cake? The reason he got a haircut was because of all the hair floating about.
Well there you go.
You didn’t need to cut his hair… all you had to do was roll his little, hairy Georgie body in some Angelfood cake and the loose hair problemo would be gone… for a good 30 minutes, tops.
🙂
LOL DJ … 🙂
is that FamilyMan would have a “swell” gifty to send to any Red organization seeking donations. As well as a sweet present to those cuzins he makes mentions of.
Dog hair has already become a condiment around here. Couldn’t stand it for desert. 🙂
Eww.
I told you it was bad. 🙂
Maybe you can knit a cozy afghan for the winter.
I don’t know how to knit, but if you do, I’ll be happy to send you a bag full of George hair. 😛
And I’ll send you two bags of pootie hair. You better be glad I don’t know your address.
HA!! I misread that as “I’ll send you all my pussy hair”
I just about fell out of my chair!!! LOL
I thought I couldn’t be grossed out anymore, DJ. Thanks so much for letting me feel again. 😉
Oh cripes!!!! I’m still laughing!!!! It’s starting to hurt!
Would that be the same as Pendejo?
Manny gave a class on this word the other night. 🙂
I missed it, guess Manny will have to see me after school! 🙂
Try this.
Class is in
That should have been read as the first sentence only. The rest doesn’t apply. 🙂
LOL
Hi Olivia. Have you been downing tons of chocolate today?
Only chocolate milk and a chocolate bar so far … I think I might be able to hang on ’til the end of the day though, and pick up some choco ice cream or something on the way home.
How are you doing after hardly any sleep last night?
Hi again Olivia. Been napping during the day. Being up very early and working on George has put me in a perfect nap mode.
I find Kitty Floaters in my water all the time.
Wanna see why?? (old photo)
Now I have a little plastic cup from PF Changs with a luck kitten on it – she now uses that to drink out of, however she still has to come and taste test all our water, wine and iced coffee… it’s her job.
I wish there was some way I could give Cat a haircut, because she’s shedding also. 🙁
Ever hear of duct tape? They’ve got Cat tape, too.
Runs!!!
Just wanted to pop in and let you know…
YOU GOT MAIL!
Enjoy
Later
Too damn cool!
And too damn real and scary 😉
Happy hour has arrived.
