well, it’s nice to be back home, but i’m going thru some serious progressive convention withdrawl now (should have booked a flight to dc for the take back america conference).

yearlykos was da bomb, and it has been years since i have been so excited to meet and mingle with people.  i’m not particularly a people person, but this was something beyond anything i’ve ever experienced before.
the excitement in the air was palpable…the halls were full of liberals, laptops and laughter.  it seemed that everywhere i turned, i would run into somebody whose writings i was familiar with, and was finally able to meet them face-to-face.

it was wonderful to put a face to the name, and a name to the pseudnym.  i met booman on the final day, and really happy to see him.  booman, you’ve done a great job here at the site (which i told you on sunday) and you, and many others (maryscott, jerome armstrong, the bobs of dem.com, not to mention kos himself, etc) are the platforms, if not the impetus, that gives this community form and function.

i had, without exaggeration, one of the best times of my life.  and, with my liveblogging of the various panels i went to, my blog got some of the highest traffic for a weekend in its long four-year history. (special thanks to digby and jane of fdl, as well as others [http://xnerg.blogspot.com/2006/06/taking-break.html], for the links!)

the list of folks i met is too long to include here, just rest assured that the actual meeting together of bloggers gave form to a movement.  gina cooper, who put the ykos together, did blogtopia (and yes!  i coined that phrase!) and all of us proud, by helping us look legitimate, professional, and viable.

i am so glad to have met all of you that i did, and for those of you who couldn’t make it, i’m sorry you missed out, but don’t worry, next year promises to be even better!
