Yes I’ve been up for awhile. That going to bed early thing.
Getting a haircut huh. I thought for a while of being an old geezer with hair down to my shoulders, but then I thought, that would be work. Since I shudder at the thought of work, that was out. 🙂
You and I cut our lawns at the same time, and now we even cut our hair at the same time. Is this like girlfriends who cycle together? And by cycle, I don’t mean Schwinn.
I thought you might take it as a little challenge ::subliminal mystery book in carmel indiana subliminal:: for your next book ::subliminal mystery book in carmel indiana subliminal:: tour
it might have worked better if ::subliminal mystery bookstore in carmel indiana subliminal:: I hadn’t left out the ::subliminal mystery bookstore in carmel indiana subliminal:: store.
LOL well growing up in the south I had crew cuts every summer and combable hair for winter. As a teenager I had really long hair and went through all the perms and blowdrying and all that mess. as I got older I realized shorter hair was easier and waiting tables I got better tips. LOL
They’re still asleep…they got here at about 3 this morning (for some reason, she decided she liked a stretch of 81 so much that she’d go back and drive it again…oops)
Thanks to the abundant trees, I sure can’t compete with NDD but then again, I don’t think I’d trade the trees for more opportunities to take big sky shots (not that this was really a big sky shot).
I forgot about your haircut phobia but you don’t have to worry about me — I like getting haircuts. And what’s more, I’ve been going to the same person to get my hair cut for almost as long as you’ve been alive (1977).
Starting my Friday with a cuppa coffee, and looking for the Baileys ; )
A little walk on the beach, before the heat gets too bad,
I had a nice chuckle on the bell bottoms, and long hair, I was there as well, and to add to that, a Buckskin Jacket, Buckskinn knee high moccasins, head band, and don’t forget the stash bag that attached to the belt, ; ) LMAO
I survived another night of coughing, hacking, and wheezing and have decided to call in sick. No sick time, so I’ll have to pay for it, but I don’t have much choice. I think the problem is bronchitis which is being aggravated by all the pollution around here.
Lovely photo, AndiF! Thanks for taking us with you on your beautiful nature walks!
That’s for sure, FM! And I do miss the fresh air up on the Monterey Peninsula. However, there is a delightful breeze in So Cal today, hot and windy Santa Ana conditions…. high fire danger, but it does clear the air.
I’m going to rest up and drink lots of soothing beverages, such as echinacea tea!
You really captured the crystal clear blue of the sky. Thanks for the good wishes. It will be nice to have a long weekend and maybe I can get some sleep! It’s going to be beastly hot here today…
and I have been loving it but it’s coming to an end starting today. I would happy never to see the temps top 80.
Big “excitement” is going over to Cincy tomorrow to spend some time with my m-i-l, sister, and mother (who is visiting with my sister). The visit will be nice but it means no bike ride and the drive over to cincy is soooo boring.
it got very cold up in Monterey but I never minded. It is easy to layer-on for the cold, but there is only so much you can do to deal with heat before you need to seek relief by jumping in the water or turning on the AC. My heat tolerance is extremely limited!
I’m sure you will have fund with the gang, but too bad about missing the bike ride… the bo-o-o-o-oring drive. Sounds like time to listen to some good pod casts. My son has a thingamajiggie that makes it possible to listen to his iPod through the car radio.
at surviving my workload. And today is actually pretty quiet — quiet enough that I’m going to take off in an hour or so to run some errands (and get my haircut) — one of the advantages of working from home is rearranging your hours (the big disadvantages are that everybody knows that you are at work all the time and you can never get snowed in).
and I’d also have you out to house afterward to show off your haircut (and bravery) to the dogs who would then be thrilled to have you join them on a walk.
Hey there O… just another quickie drive by before I get back to work here. Was over at PO again, and left you a response about “Frank’s Poppies.” Just checked at Richters and they do have the seeds, and only $1.25 CDN.
You’ll want what they call the “blue seeded” variety, and though they don’t show a pic, I’m positive these are what we have papaver somniferum var. nigra. Order yourself some and get them in the ground quick and you should have some later this summer. Nice thing is, one successful year and you never have to plant them again, they take care of themselves!
Thanks, O! Yup, I’m gonna take it easy today. Just putter, drink lots of liquids, and generally rest up. The main thing I hate is the awful throat tickle that makes me feel like I’m going to choke. It hurt to cough and doesn’t seem to scratch the “tickle” much. The only thing that helps is liquids and lozenges!
I’m sooo ready for the weekend, and as usual, have the same stuff on my docket. Busy day here in the cubicell, so this will be a drive by heyas to Andi, FM, RF, Kansas, CG, KB, MM, IP, Olivia, and who did I miss? Well whoever you are, hope you have a great day too!
Lowered expectations of rain here tonight … grrr, and dewpoint going up with temps in the low 90’s today. AC is going on when I get home tonight!
Hope you get rested MM … did you stay home today? I’ll be glad to hear you say that bug is outta your life and you’re back on track.
Oh, and Olivia, great poppy pic on your b-thingie this morning! I hear the lights at FM’s place were off for a while today… hehe.
I don’t want to pressure him. But I didn’t say which b, did I? Now if I just came out and said Urban Oasis that would be different, but I didn’t say Urban Oasis, because I left it open and you don’t know if I’m talking about Urban Oasis or not. Urban Oasis.
Well it only supposed to get up to 93 F/35.5555556 degree Celsius. Like to be exact. It’s not real bad because the humidity is 10%. Later on when it’s this temp and the humidity is around 80% it will be miserable.
Now don’t get out in that heat after drinking milk. You know what they say.
Why, FSM? Why do you make me too sick to be clever and then taunt me with perfect setup lines from luscious women? Woe and alack and alas. ::back of hand to brow::
😉
Hope you’re all well and/or happy today. I’m still feeling lousy so I’ll be around but mostly quiet.
FSM does it for love of you — because all great art is borne from suffering (or did I get that wrong and it’s that all great sex is borne from just the right kind of denial).
I hate days like that. You get sweaty and then go inside and freeze in the a/c…no thanks. Usually w/ the heat we don’t have humidity…hoping this might signal the beginning of our “monsoon” season, but it doesn’t look promising long range…:{(
Good morning Andi. Ready for a hard day at the keyboard?
You’re “here” early — been up for awhile, eh?
Big excitement for the day — haircut!
Yes I’ve been up for awhile. That going to bed early thing.
Getting a haircut huh. I thought for a while of being an old geezer with hair down to my shoulders, but then I thought, that would be work. Since I shudder at the thought of work, that was out. 🙂
That’s the great thing about geezerdom — nobody cares what you look like anymore so you can do whatever you want.
I think people still care about how you look, but they’ve probably been told by a geezer or two to mind their own damn business. 🙂
You and I cut our lawns at the same time, and now we even cut our hair at the same time. Is this like girlfriends who cycle together? And by cycle, I don’t mean Schwinn.
Oh, and g’morning Andi and FM.
Good morning Kansas. Why even worry about haircuts, let it grow.
Just look what you could have.
I would be sneaking up with a pair of shears and cutting that mess.
As a kid I had long hair and never realized how much time and effort I put into it.
I’ve found when you’re lazy, you tend to look for every short cut you can find. 🙂
Morning, kansas.
Only problem is that FM isn’t getting the haircut, I am. Oh, and there might be a small problem getting him to ‘cycle’ with you.
I should go back to bed now. Maybe when I wake up I’ll be able to read.
Don’t worry I have that problem through out the day. 🙂
when you’re feeling capable.
GPS Guides Marathon Book Tour.
OMG. 500 bookstores.
Now I really do need to go lie down.
It’s the little things.
Good Morning!!!!! TGIF!!!!!! I have so much stuff to do this weekend I need today to go by fast. LOL
Morning Refinish.
Morning FamilyMan!!! Make sure they don’t clip your ears when they cut your hair. LOL
I’m not getting a haircut today, Andi is. I have one barber I go to and he’s in the city.
I figure when it starts covering my ears it’s time. Think of Dumbo with hair. 🙂
I guess I should read more closely. LOL I had long hair when I was much younger but never again. I keep mine buzzed now.
When I was a kid my Dad always kept ours buzzed. So when I was able to, I grew it as long as I could. Didn’t take me long to figure out this is work.
So although I don’t keep it buzzed now, I keep just enough to comb.
LOL well growing up in the south I had crew cuts every summer and combable hair for winter. As a teenager I had really long hair and went through all the perms and blowdrying and all that mess. as I got older I realized shorter hair was easier and waiting tables I got better tips. LOL
I didn’t grow mine until I was out of the house and into my long hair, jesus sandals phase.
It’s amazing how you can track your life by fads sometimes.
Never did buy a pet rock though. 🙂
LOL I had one that was given to me for christmas. LOL Talking about fads, do you remember elephant bell bottoms? I had a pair of burgandy ones. LOL
Oh yeah, I went through the whole thing back then. 🙂
Howdy, howdy.
Don’t go wishing away my weekend. I like ’em to drag.
LOL Okay!!!
(staggering)
Morning KB. Don’t fall.
Andi, refi, kansas, FM, katiebird…and anyone else I missed!
Militarytracy and her little guy got here late last night.
Morning CG. Ya’ll got any big plans, other than tearing the town apart. 😉
I think the big plan today is sleeping in (oops, I messed that one up-LOL), heading to the pool later, and general slackerliness.
I already knew ya’ll were very smart women. This just confirms it. 🙂
I missed the part where they were coming to visit! That’s so nice.
I was thinking about Brinn the other day. Do either you or MT know how she’s doing? I’d ask her myself but I don’t have her e address any more.
she has a new user name over at MLW. I don’t know it, but others do.
Thanks.
are you gonna let her sign in, or are you gonna hog the computer the whole time?
They’re still asleep…they got here at about 3 this morning (for some reason, she decided she liked a stretch of 81 so much that she’d go back and drive it again…oops)
I’m here…How was your walk?
Tracy is so cool – give her a hug for me. Then have her give you a hug for me. 🙂
and how neat for you and MT to get together. I think I might have noticed a glow in the sky from that direction from all that energy in one place.
Almost nuclear in its quality, I’m sure! 😉
Pretty sky. I’m finally up and on my way to being caffeinated. Headache is down to an 8.
OUch. I hope it goes away soon.
Thanks to the abundant trees, I sure can’t compete with NDD but then again, I don’t think I’d trade the trees for more opportunities to take big sky shots (not that this was really a big sky shot).
Great photo Andi! Oh, and Good Luck w/ the haircut. <shudder>
I forgot about your haircut phobia but you don’t have to worry about me — I like getting haircuts. And what’s more, I’ve been going to the same person to get my hair cut for almost as long as you’ve been alive (1977).
The same person since 1977? … LOL!
one half of the second most boring couple in the world — it’s de rigueur that nothing changes.
Maybe I woudn’t have a phobia if I had a trusted haircutter who has known me for years and years and years. 🙂
Howdy Folks, Hope all is going well …
Starting my Friday with a cuppa coffee, and looking for the Baileys ; )
A little walk on the beach, before the heat gets too bad,
I had a nice chuckle on the bell bottoms, and long hair, I was there as well, and to add to that, a Buckskin Jacket, Buckskinn knee high moccasins, head band, and don’t forget the stash bag that attached to the belt, ; ) LMAO
Coffee and Baileys sounds like a perfect way to start a Friday … 😉
Hey Olivia,
Yeppers, It seems to make Friday go even faster…LOL
er, at least you don’t remember the morning… ; )
It can slow down again by afternoon and then take its sweet time all evening … 😉
very true, but that’s all right. I have a meeting mid afternoon, and then it’s off for the weekend.
going to catch a steel drum band tonight out by the water, should be relaxing.
peace
Have fun … 🙂
TGIF for sure!
Morning MM. I hope you get to feeling better.
You need a good sea breeze to clean that stuff up.
I’m sorry that you are still feeling ill but I’m glad you took the day off and hope getting some rest brings about an improvement.
Thanks for compliment on the pic — I love the light in the early morning but the skies are usually pretty blah so this one was a nice surprise.
You really captured the crystal clear blue of the sky. Thanks for the good wishes. It will be nice to have a long weekend and maybe I can get some sleep! It’s going to be beastly hot here today…
Any exciting plans for the w/e?
and I have been loving it but it’s coming to an end starting today. I would happy never to see the temps top 80.

we’ve got one thingies as well as it does help but it’s still over 5 hours of driving (round-trip) that we’ve done countless times.
Hope you’re surviving your workload today …
at surviving my workload. And today is actually pretty quiet — quiet enough that I’m going to take off in an hour or so to run some errands (and get my haircut) — one of the advantages of working from home is rearranging your hours (the big disadvantages are that everybody knows that you are at work all the time and you can never get snowed in).
Yeah, I still think the pros way outweigh the cons … 🙂 Plus, you can use the power outage excuse b/c you live in the country!
whom I go to up there to do a rescue mission — you’d never be afraid of haircuts again.
Hey, I know — when you come to Chicago on October 7, you can just extend your trip down to Indiana!
Going all the way to Indiana from Ottawa to get haircut is even more crazy than having the same hair cutter since 1977 … 😉
Would you hold my hand?
and I’d also have you out to house afterward to show off your haircut (and bravery) to the dogs who would then be thrilled to have you join them on a walk.
… except the hair bit. 🙂
See ya later!
Hey there O… just another quickie drive by before I get back to work here. Was over at PO again, and left you a response about “Frank’s Poppies.” Just checked at Richters and they do have the seeds, and only $1.25 CDN.

Ok, back to work now. See ya later.
I’ll will definitely check this out tonight. 🙂
Here’s hoping the afternoon flies for you … and me too. See ya later!
Hope you get feeling better by taking this time to slack and nap … 🙂
Hope your Friday is going well!
When I get it, it makes me swallow and swallow and my eyes tear up and I eventually feel like I’m going to throw up. Uck.
We’re on the going home stretch here, so I’m doing okay. 🙂

Oh, and Olivia, great poppy pic on your b-thingie this morning! I hear the lights at FM’s place were off for a while today… hehe.
Hello Drive By.
I’m hoping the day goes fast too. There’s a certain b I’m waiting for an update on.
AC is going on? I don’t think ours has been off since we got it fixed a couple of months ago. Oh to live in perfect weather.
Hope to see some slacking in your day later.
He has to go at his own pace … 🙂
How’s it going FM?
I don’t want to pressure him. But I didn’t say which b, did I? Now if I just came out and said Urban Oasis that would be different, but I didn’t say Urban Oasis, because I left it open and you don’t know if I’m talking about Urban Oasis or not. Urban Oasis.
I hope I was subtlety subtle about that.
That’s a pretty funny word when you think about it … and type it … subtle subtle. Hmmm.
Forgot to answer it’s going alright. I went outside and did some work and actually sweated. That just doesn’t happen in FM land. 🙂
Have you gone through half a chocolate shop yet in FCH?
You’ll be surprised to read that I’m just having my first choc-o-the-day w/ my lunch … chocolate milk, which I haven’t spilled on myself (yet) … 😉
It’s hot here too … just went for a quick stroll outside and it’s at the ‘lmost too hot for me’ point: 27C/81F … sweaty walking weather. 🙂
And who’s saying it … 🙂
Thanks for being so precise in your conversion calcuation btw … I appreciate a 7th rounder.
Old wifes who have tales say it. They said if you drink milk and go outside and get very hot, the milk will sour on your stomach.
I don’t see how that could be to bad unless you had a bad burp. 🙂
Don’t want to turn sour … 🙂
I appreciate a 7th rounder
Why, FSM? Why do you make me too sick to be clever and then taunt me with perfect setup lines from luscious women? Woe and alack and alas. ::back of hand to brow::
😉
Hope you’re all well and/or happy today. I’m still feeling lousy so I’ll be around but mostly quiet.
I’m glad that it made you delurk for a brief moment … so that I could give you some lovin’ …{{{{{{{Indy}}}}}}} & :*
🙂
FSM does it for love of you — because all great art is borne from suffering (or did I get that wrong and it’s that all great sex is borne from just the right kind of denial).
Hi O, Andi, FM et al…Indy, MM, hope you get to to feeling better soon.
A bit of a change in the weather today…showers and t-strms and projected hi of 70-75…currently:
55.0°F 12.8°C
Humidity: 86%
Gotta enjoy it ’cause it’s back into mid to hi 90’s by Sunday.
We’ve got you beat for heat weatherwise today … your brief respite is my sweaty walk. 🙂
I hate days like that. You get sweaty and then go inside and freeze in the a/c…no thanks. Usually w/ the heat we don’t have humidity…hoping this might signal the beginning of our “monsoon” season, but it doesn’t look promising long range…:{(
I hate to leave for a minute, but all that hard work today has gotten me in a typing nap trance.
Be back in a little while.
Looks like I got here once again just in time for the new cafe to start.
