I got up in a really bad mood this morning thinking about some of my last night`s readings.
I`d been working on a protest photo montage for a project I`m working on & put it in a Iraq daily grief diary. I then saw some of the flowers I have at the house & decided to put my mind on the flowers instead of the flames. I`m putting a few here, almost in atonement for my heavy feelings this morning that may have bummed some people out.[I sure hope not.] These photos represent to me every father`s imagination on the good news that not only is he now a father, but that he will have a daughter.

about sage smuge sticks…wrapped and dried and then lit and burned similar to incense…pic of the homegrown here…recommended for outdoor use only.
Ya I got some of that right here on the porch. I thought you were talking about Thai sticks for a min. Especially when you suggested outdoor use only. I didn`t realize you got them tied like that. I got my sage from an Indian or a Hindu.

It`s a coolpix 5400 Nikon that I shot with last night. I have film SLR`s,
a Nikon F & a Nikon F2. i somtimes use a friends D2H Nikon digital, but I find it too bulky for everyday use.
I`m going to be using a Nikonos in a few days for all my underwater stuff, but it`s a film camera. I`ll have to shoot digital note the settings then shoot with the film camera in hopes that a few days later I could expect some halfway decent shots.

Lol… you lose track after time ya know. I just wish I had gotten that shot centered better, but the wind was really whipping up when I took most of these tonight, so I had to wait for still moments.
This next one I like very much, and it damn near qualifies as pink to me even though the species is purpurea.

Yeah, I’ve seen most at one point or another, but need to revisit them. Who would have thought that when I was searching desperately for a cool link to post that night when I first learned how to do it, that I would gravitate towards that.

That could well be it, given the info on that page. I wonder if you caught them before they really open up much, but given that pic of the leaves and all, it makes perfect sense to me. Would love to get some of that going in our garden. I take it this was from this afternoon’s hike?
I captured a few … but b/c they’re wildflowers I’m not really familiar w/ them.
I got some more neat things from today’s hike — peat for instance. And baby pinecones (I think) which resemble little red roses (yeah, I know I know).
I told C about your time in the peat bog and he immediately asked if there were cranberries, lol. I think it sounds fascinating, just the sort of nature hike I’d really get into. I’m not that great at wildflower idents unless they’ve got some cultivated cousin I know.
… saying not to pick the berries .. $150 fine I think.

The delphs are revving up and going great guns right now, so have to get more pics as they pop. I want to do a lot more with the look of the place, which means learning more html than my currently meager knowledge. But Olivia’s helping out fantastically in that department, both as a resource and “reminder.” I’ll get it soon.
