Good morning all.
Geez, you get up early. Thanks for putting up the coffee cart – it’s almost like Andi’s still here!
Morning SN. Nope, there’s no replacing Andi.
How’s the morning starting so far?
Eh, not so good. I’m on this prescription decongestant to try to get rid of fluid trapped in my inner ear and it makes me feel weird, like I’m about to have a heart attack, which makes it hard to sleep. I don’t think I’m going to take any more of them.
Other than that, the coffee is hot, a fine tasting Kona blend, and the cats are leaving me alone to read the online news.

It’s a couple of days, but you need to call your doctor and let them know. There are plenty of other meds out there that will do the same thing and probably not have the side effects.
We’re doing fine. One of my younger brothers, his wife and my niece are here this weekend. Whenever this brother is home my Mom wants everything just right, so I’ve been running a little. Not to much though, because of the heat.
You’re really a good son. It kind of reminds me Morgan Freeman in Driving Miss Daisy. Your mom is of course Miss Daisy and you’re…white. But other than that…
I’ve bought up the similarities to her many times. 🙂
It’s actually not so bad. The brother and family are staying over at the sister’s house because they have the room. So it’s not really more than a little more picking up things I already should have.
My mom’s 78th birthday is next weekend and I’ll be there with her. It’s more out of guilt than anything else. We don’t have a very warm relationship – just superficial and strained. She was always very stressed out and depressed and she drinks and chain smokes to deal with it. I just know that if she dies and I hadn’t been to see her in a long while I’d feel bad.
I think that’s good you’re going up there. If for nothing else, then for your peace of mind. I have a few relatives I have the same kind of relationship with. It’s no fun to be around them, but it doesn’t happen to often.
For the smoking, go to an Army/Navy store and get a gas mask.
Great idea! She actually tries to be polite and not smoke for the 30 minutes or so I’ll actually be in her little condo – but the walls and upholstered furniture are coated with brown nicotine stains and I still feel like I’m choking.
I’ll get together with her at length in some outdoor location.
I guess I better go feed the cats and read the NYT that’s sitting in my driveway. See you later.

Oh my how cute! thanks….I find that each year from now on, is a give away from God….:o) I am just grateful to have a job and fairly good health and a family that loves me. Our mind changes as to what we are thankful for as we get older, so it seems….:o)

That’s the great thing about becoming older. You do see things in a different way and things you took for granted before, become precious with time.
My outside thermometer said 101 F yesterday. I tried a little lawn work, but didn’t last to long with that. 🙂
Happy 29th birthday on Monday Brenda!!!! No woman is over 29 unless she wants to be. My mom still claims it and she is 71. LOL

Howdy folks. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I spent 5 hours at a planning meeting for the new group we are starting in Williamson County last night. I actually had fun as it was a dinner at some friends house and we had dinner and beer and snacks. They wanted to keeop going but I refused as I did not want to be on the road home when the bars closed and the people celebrating the 4th early were on their way home. LOL

I am so glad to be here with you all. Life is sure good to me. I want to take this time to say Thank You all for making this a good site to be visiting. We progressives have really made things easier and more pleasant for others to surf around and find some sort of peace.
I wish you all a safe and peaceful 4th. My friend as the clinic of which I am attached has a son who just graduated from high school and has signed up with the marines. Please keep him in your prayers, please. He is a good boy and is the pride of his mom’s heart. We all know where he is heading.

Hellllooooo. Anybody around?
Spent the day working on my sister and b-i-l’s computer and got it working right. They were amazed at how faster it was and asked how I did it. My standard answer for people who really don’t want to know how it was done is, “It’s magic.”
The whole family, except for a brother and a few nieces and nephews, was there and we all had a big meal and visited. It was really pretty nice.
Anybody else been doing anything special today?
We’ve been busy around the house, putting up bamboo inside and outside trying to knock a few degrees off the heat that builds up during the day. Plus cleaning up after the menagerie, etc. Now the AC is on and I’m going to do my typing practice for a while. Hope all you froggies are having a mellow Sunday!
