Leading the charge to take back the NY State Senate, Candidate Brian Keeler (NYBri) is setting the standard for creative thinking — an invaluable quality for any leader. His latest creation is the ‘Blograiser’ — a commonsense combo of traditional and pioneering fundraising.
As far as we know, this will be the first time that a (relatively) traditional political fundraiser (See Details Below) has been coordinated to run concurrently with an associated online fundraiser (a ‘Blograiser’).
The purpose is threefold:
1) Maximize the contribution total for the event — accepting contributions from both the physical and virtual attendees.
2) Allow supporters outside Brian’s district — and even outside NY — to participate and support his candidacy.
3) Generate a burst of enthusiasm for the Keeler campaign that will increase his campaign’s visibility with his constituency, the remaining public, the media, and the state and national political infrastructure.
HERE’S HOW IT WILL WORK
First, there will be the actual physical fundraiser at Prey in Manhattan. People will arrive, contribute, mingle — a slightly non-traditional event in the sense that the fundraiser benefits an upstate NY senate candidate — but will work because of Brian’s vast blogosphere appeal.
The second part will be comprised of a concurrent ‘Blograiser’. During the course of the Physical fundraiser (and perhaps overlapping it by an hour or two) there will be liveblogging of the event along with a separate contribution page that will be associated with this particular fundraiser. All bloggers are invited and encouraged to live-blog. Wireless internet will be available.
The live-blogging will allow supporters across the nation to virtually attend the event and show their support through online contributions, commenting, and networking.
So that’s it — a ‘Blograiser’! Let’s make it work!

The amount is up to you, but I ask that you give till it feels good… REAL good:) And remember, this election is no cakewalk — as NYBri faces stiff competition against an incumbent Republican. These battles cost money to run effectively and that is where we can make the difference in this race!

We were able to attain an exclusive venue for free from the good folks at Prey NYC, even as other establishments were charging or requiring a ‘bar guarantee’ totaling thousands of dollars. For that, we ask that you show them our appreciation by simply buying some food and drink during the course of the event. Drink specials, appetizers, and other food will be available on a cash basis.
STILL DEVELOPING: There are still other (hopefully exciting) developments in the works, but these are the things that are currently set in stone.
