Goodies on the platters.
I’ve got plenty of nothing to do and nothing to do is plenty for me.

May the 4’s be with you
The humidity is already 94%. Ugh.
Good morning Andi.
I don’t think the frog in the picture will mind the humidity too much.
How was your shopping trip and your Mom?
Yeah — too bad we’re only virtual froggies.
We bought a new chair, Jim got a pair of shoes, Mom was fine, and we had a great dinner at a Greek restaurant.
How’s your gathering of relatives going?
Glad to hear you had a good time and Greek food. I miss good Greek food.
George is barking, house is a mess and the lawn need mowing. Thing are about normal I’d say. π
Any big plan for today?
Avoiding big plans and staying with little ones. I intend to mostly live up to the title of the cafe.
Good for you!
I’ve got George whinning and a nephew sounding like he’s ready for breakfast.
Gotta go. See ya later.
I miss it too. There are a couple of fabulous Greek places about an hour from here, but there’s very little Laura can eat there, which means I just don’t get to do Greek any more. Big sigh.
I am a greek freak and have to find a good placee here. I have found a really good place for lamb but it is not a greek resteraunt but a middle eastern.
we do Indian. Most Indian is wheat free, and I’m a sucker for a really hot curry, or well almost anything Indian and really hot. Nice teas too.
Hi Kelly. When I lived in Columbus, MS they had a guy from Greece open a place there. Wonderful food. He was right next to a down home country Chinese cafe. You could get everything from eggs and grits to Kung Po beef. Oddly enough it was good food too.
I’d love to have some place where I could grits and Kung Pao. They’re both on my list of wonderful food, and with the eggs and grits, Laura could eat there too.
They must have been doing something right, because the place was always packed. During lunch time if you didn’t get there early enough, you would waste your lunch time waiting for a table.
Good morning, Andi and FM.
Hot and humid here (and everywhere, I think) – we’ll be mostly indoors, I think.
Hi Andi, Familyman & Ask!!!!! Good morning to all the other froggies in the pond also!!!! I have a bloggers lunch today and am really looking forward to it.
I have a bloggers lunch today..
That sounds like fun. Anyone we ‘know’?
It is people from Texas Kaos and many of them also blog at DK.
It is mainly central Texas. We try and get together every month. The last one lasted from 1 pm till 4:30 pm. LOL
Good morning ask and Refinish. I’ve got everybody settled for a minute here.
Todays high, 100F/56% humidity. As far as I’m concerned, it’s an inside day.
Sounds like a plan FamilyMan!!!! You can always send the kids outside for things.
Hah. If I could get the kids to do anything, you think I would be mowing a yard. π
ROTFLMAO!!!!! That is what you get for setting up Chex familyMan and not charging them room and board. LOL
Couldn’t charge for room and board. I might end up being rich. π
LOL Maybe you should and then you can open a Froggy Bottom Lounge for real.
Hi ask and refinish.
I’m with ask — weather like this just demands you spend the day lying on the couch, reading.
But first I’m going to go take a walk in the woods while it’s still cool enough.
Have a fine day.
Hi Miss Anid!!! Enjoy your walk with the animals!!!
Second wave of family is up and more breakfast to make.
Later.
Thanks, Thoughts & Other Things
I just got through putting this one together.
From Science Daily comes this story.
Started to type “morning” then looked at the clock in the corner of the screen…
Packed the spouse off to church — I woke up with a headache so stayed in bed for a bit. Had a good time with the in-laws, but out too damn late. π Still too hot to cook, so we’re going out later today; besides, the kitchen is still a disaster, so I hope to tackle that in a bit.
TTFN…
Yoo hoo! Anybody home? Just got back from the temple-stayed a bit late to do some maintenance (I’m the designated handywoman).
Our annual Obon festival is coming up and we’ll begin dance lessons Tuesday-a great deal of fun! They’re simple circle dances and we are fortunate to have a world-famous dance instructor, relocated to the area, who volunteers every year to refresh our memories for three weeks before the event.
If you have a Japanese-American community in your town, you might want to see if they have an Obon festival. There’s usually good eats, crafts, entertainment and of course dancing. I hear some of the ones in California and Hawaii last for days.
I lived right down the street from the Palo Alto Buddhist temple; went to the Obon festival every year (we could smell the teriyaki chicken from our front yard…my mouth still waters at the thought). My mom loved the bingo (till they cancelled it for some reason); I liked the game where you tried to bounce a ping-pong ball into a goldfish bowl — if you were successful, you got a goldfish in a Baggie full of water. I usually was able to keep the fish alive till the next festival.
We have three festivals within our area — the one in Palo Alto, one in Mountain View, and the big one in San Jose’s Japantown…and that’s not even counting the one in San Francisco’s Japantown. Will have to get to one or more of the festivals this year…
