I’ve got a powell’s down the street… can I do it there too or just “internets”?
Also I’ll use Powell’s site to have gifst sent along as gifts to others this holiday season about to nail us.
How about if you order the books online and arrange to have them picked up at the store rather than having to pay shipping to send them across town? I haven’t checked but I’ll bet they’d do this if you asked nice and batted your eyelashes at them.
That won’t work for gifts, of course, but for gifts you can just make the sacrifice and go holiday shopping at 3:00 AM in your underwear. Don’t do that at Powell’s brick-and-mortar plant. Either you’ll get everybody staring at you, or you’ll be mortified because nobody will notice.
Well I definitely will order online for the gifts out of state and such and it’s so much easier to get my mom stuff that way, Omir š
But I do LOVE hijacking an entire store to myself to get lost in. š I swear… I would have been the best worker at that place ;*(
But that is a good idea, too. Cause I’ll show up to pick up the books… and still get lost in it š
If you’re like me you’ll go there to pick up the books, find “one more thing” you need, and three hours later come out of the store with an armful of dead trees.
AND… don’t forget the cafe goodies. Coffee and BOOKs in ONE location. Cripes!! š
I’m going to put up a diary here and another at Kos on Tuesday about my new book launch. I’d love it if folks who then go on to buy the book do so in such a way as to send money your way. Is there anything special I can do to try to route the traffic that way? I did a search from the Powells add on the bootrib site to get there, and this is the url that popped up.
http://www.powells.com/s?kw=webmage&x=0&y=0&PID=30079
A click from there got me:
http://www.powells.com/biblio/61-0441014259-0
But I’m not sure if any of that info points back your way as the source of the clicks. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?
WebMage!!! That looks so cool!!!! I’ll have to get that, too. š (((KMc)))
Thanks Janet, and ((((hugs)))) back.
I’ve read the first few pages…waiting for a few spare hours so I can devour it in peace and quiet (or what passes for same in this madhouse)…
Doing a little friendly hacking, I think I’ve found the magic formula. If you use this link to connect to the Webmage page
http://www.powells.com/partner/30079/biblio/61-0441014259-0
it ends up with this URL in the address bar:
http://www.powells.com/biblio/61-0441014259-0?&PID=30079
My guess is that it’s the “partner/30079” and the “PID=30079” that gets BooMan his 52.425 cents.
Cool, thanks, Omir.
Larry Johnson’s story “Israel Takes A Stupid Pill” was picked up by Alternet and BooMan Tribune was credited as the source! I don’t know why they picked it up from here and not Larry’s blog No Quarter, but hey, be grateful for the publicity I guess.
since we all have had a hard week, I just had to bring this over here for you all to take a look at…it is what broke the ice for me today and help me keep what sanity I had left…
enjoy
I discovered when I couldn’t sleep last night…Firefox’s StumbleUpon toolbar rocks…

My kids sing the chorus… I know that’s bad of me as a mom š But I did have to make sure my son didn’t sing on the school bus ROFL

Combine all the ingredients in a blender well at high speed. Pour into a collins glass.
This reminded me of one that iPig shared with us that… I, typically, lost. Moving twice in 6 months can do that.
That was supposed to go in the Froggy Bottom Cafe. Doh!
