than I have in a few days. Things seem to be cooling down a little; it is supposed to “only” get up to 84 today.
Yesterday we went to the Zoo to see Leo Kottke perform. I thought I was a complete idiot for doing so in 90° heat; fortunately we got in early because we had a wheelchair in our group, and managed to get a seat back toward the back of the meadow that was in the shade the whole time, which was pretty nice. Made the whole thing bearable. Unfortunately he was in the sun pretty much the whole time, which made it tough for him.
Good Morning!!!! I had a great weekend at the campaign Camp and will be doing a dairy on it this evening when I get home with some basics on organizing for a campaign. The basics are the same no matter if you are the candidate, a staff member, or working on a county level. I learned some great things and reinforced soime things I have been doing for years.
Well, I was thinking more along the lines of how the fog would look drifting through the mix of trees and open spaces.
It’s the first time I ever wished I had a cell phone with a camera but by the time I would have gotten off the bike to take the pictures it would have been too late anyway. (Being the huge klutz I am, trying to take a picture while riding is definitely not under consideration.)
Heh, my cell phone has a camera but because, as we know, it is smarter than me, I keep accidentally taking pictures with it. Hopefully I haven’t sent any closeups of my nostril out over the internet but I can’t know for sure.
A bit better than I have been for a while. This most recent flare may be ending, or just regrouping, I won’t really know for a few more days. Bleh.
Do you know if there’s any specifics yet about the Chicago meetup? I really want to get to that, even if I have to wheel my ass down the highway in my wheelchair. 🙂
Hey Kelly, I’ve popped in from time to time and seen that things are going well with the writing, but I’ve been wondering, how’s everything with your mom? I know that’s been hard for you. I sure hope it’s getting better, or at least, not getting any harder.
The mom stuff isn’t getting any worse. It’s not getting much better, but some parts of it seem to be coming to an end. I’m hoping to get her divorce wrapped up here in the next two weeks, and that looks likely. The rest. . . Oh well. We’ll see. Thanks for thinking of it.
We’re definitely intending to be in the downtown area and are looking at Millennium Park or Navy Pier as possible daytime activities. I figured that most people would rather pick their own places to stay and but I am going to check out some of the hotels to see if there any weekend package deals.
Keep me posted on what you find, if you would, so I can make sure I get in a nearby reservation in time. I may have to come early and stay late in order to make the trip work for me, depending on what my body’s getting up to in the fall.
I’m still in Syracuse, so my access is kind of random, but I thought I’d jump in and say hi. Went to the zoo here yesterday, it’s a fairly nice little one. Going to go to a couple of talks and do some composing for a website update. No biggie there, my sites a static thing. Hope everyone has a lovely day.
Yup, checked my watch and it says yes … blecchhh! Glad to see everyone stirring in the pond, as it seems to have been pretty lonely the past few days when I’ve checked in. So … best of the day to you all, Andi, Psi, FM, RF, SN, Olivia, Indy (yay!), Kelly and anyone I may have missed!!
Was up way too late last night working on the b-thingie, but at least I awoke to rumbles of thunder this morning, and it appears we may get some brief rain out of this before it becomes infernally hot again today! As usual, we need the rain, despite more regular showers of late … so I appreciate hearing it and seeing the rain coming down …
Hope everyone’s week is off to a good start, and sorry to hear (surmise, read between lines?) that you had a bike mishap, Andi! Hope it was nothing serious.
Well, time to get down to work here in cubihell… hang in there Olivia!
Hope y’all can stay cool today! Doesn’t look possible here but at least I’m not at work. Going to see my counselor this afternoon as my efforts are flagging on some big life issues and she’s quite the cheerleader. Then to my sister’s and brother-in-law’s 30th anniversity dinner-wow, where did the time go?
Hey! How’s it going? I had extreme trouble sleeping last night.
I sleep for a solid 6 hours which is excellent for me so I’m feeling relatively chipper for a Monday morning.
but apparently no fully awake yet.
That’s ‘slept’ not ‘sleep’.

Glad it went well and even more pleaseed that you’re going to do a diary — I think it will be really interesting.
Morning Andi!!! I ahd a good time and met some great people. I will try and condensed 3 days into a dairy and get the main points across. LOL
all it takes is being sick and unable to try sleeping any longer, huh?
Very foggy and 69 degrees. First time it’s gone below 70 at night for weeks.
Sorry for the reason you’re here but still happy to see you.
I’m guessing that your back yard looks very pretty in fog.
It actually does because you can’t tell that everything is dead, brittle and decimated by whatever is eating anything green.
I wish you could have gotten a picture of that heron, but I imagine it would have involved another biking mishap.

Last night, Homer Simpson took the family to the IMAX theatre and a sign said: Coming soon – up your nostril!
How are you feeling these days?

Happy to see you.
We’re definitely set for an official date of October 7. No activities have been set.
And Jim and I will be delighted to have you go up there with us.
Thanks for the offer, I may just have to take you up on that. Do we know where yet, like what hotel or which part of the city?
Did I read that you had a bike accident? You okay? Recovering well at least?
Good to see you around.

I will definitely do that.
I’m sorry you’re still feeling lousy, hope you feel better soon. 🙁
Good morning everyone …
And top of the morn to you too, Miss Olivia. How’ve you been since last we spoke?
It’s a lot cooler and less humid so that’s good too.
I’m just getting ready to head out the door for another week in cubihell as IVG puts it.
Hope you have a good day … it’s good to see you.
(And check your e/m … :*)
Thanks for the note, I emailed you back — and thanks for that card, that was freakin’ adorable.
Sorry you’re sentenced to cubihell, I hope the Surprise Fairy comes to visit you soon with something fun. 🙂

Not my favorite place — although I’ve mostly been there in the winter when it is especially dismal. Great apples, though.
Good morning everyone.
Sleeping in?
Yep it looks like it, and I feel an extended nap coming on. 🙂
How’re ya doing today Andi?
I’m okay. Getting ready to go be a worker bee.
Talk to you later.
See ya later.
Morning FM, glad to see you’re your usual ambitious self.

Sounds like a busy day. Stay cool wherever you are.
I would greatly appreciate it if people would pop over to my diary – http://www.boomantribune.com/?op=displaystory;sid=2006/7/23/22031/4530 – and give it a recommend. I am hoping that it stays visible long enough for all the Michiganders to see it.
Of course, everyone else is welcome to join us if you can. Sadly, it just doesn’t look like we can swing Chicago in October 🙁
