Tom DeLay will remain on the ballot. That is great news. We will pick up a very red seat unless the people of Sugarland, Texas vote for an indicted money launderer.
Looks like we’ve got another pickup in KY-04.
Things are also looking good in the Montana Senate race.
Ned Lamont has opened up a 54-41 lead.
Bush is still tanking. 60% disapprove of his job in Iraq, 59% disapprove of his job on the economy.
Jack Carter’s campaign is picking up steam.
Gov. Ed Rendell (D) now leads retired football player Lynn Swann (R) 50% to 40%. State Treasurer Bob Casey (D), meanwhile, is ahead of incumbent Sen. Rick Santorum (R), 50% to 39%.
We’re leading in the polls in the Iowa and Oregon Governor’s races. We’re behind in Michigan.
Jason Zengerle is still a wanker.
It feels like a broiler outside.
Anybody hear what kind of stuff the Green guy in the PA Senate race is saying? If he’s holding to the traditional Green positions like pro-choice, pro-gay rights, environmental activism, anti-war, for example, then savvy Dem operatives should be able to pose the question: Why is Santorum and the GOP funding this guy? Santorum poses as a man of principle, yet he’ll give money to get out a message absolutely opposed to his core supporters’ most deeply held beliefs. Just in hopes of splitting his opponent’s votes. If you think this is an honest man, maybe it’s time to think again. He’s willing to sell out his own supporters just to try and manipulate an election. Is there anyu principle he wouldn’t violate for temporary gain? Is there any trust he wouldn’t betray to pull a dirty trick? Is this really somebody that represents you?
I think good Dem strategists could use the Green guy to split off more GOP votes than he’ll take away from the Dems. Not that a Casey win is anything I’d personally get excited about.
Sorry this is a repeat, but floridagal spent some time transcribing this, so I figured the least I could do is let people know about it…
On June 4 Howard Dean was on a New York Times Magazine forum with Matt Bai. It was the first Sunday With The Magazine. They finally have the audio on this appearance up. It is a very good interview–well worth listening.

“Bill Clinton may have had sex with Monica Lewinsky, but at least he didn’t make her Secretary of State!”.
I have several issues with one William Jefferson Clinton — but I found it funny enough to use as my signature line for a while đŸ™‚ If anyone knows the source, I will gladly credit the author.
on local sports talk, of all places:
Washington Post sports columnist and best-selling author, John Feinstein was on one of the local talk stations, and they got talking politics; Feinstein has done some political writing in the past.
He mentioned that he had considered doing a book on the Maryland senatorial race, but said that he’s “moved so far to the left, I’m not sure I could be fair to any Republican candidate.” He then mentioned that he wasn’t really sure if it was that he’d moved to the left, or that Bush/Cheney had taken this country so far to the right.
Along with Feinstein, another sports personality well on the liberal side of the spectrum is Jim Lampley (he’s subbed for Ed Schultz on occasion). Plus, former NBA player Charles Barkley is considering running for Alabama governor in 2010 as a Democrat. (When someone on ESPN asked him if he hadn’t claimed to be a Republican several years ago, Barkley said no, “I only said I was as rich as a Republican.” Barkley had some great stuff to say about the lack of governmental response before and after Katrina.)
There’s the image of sports as a conservative bastion, and yeah, that’s still probably the case overall. But there are a few shining lights out there…we just have to look hard for them.
John Carter(r) has been spreading lies about Mary Beth and she decided to come out fighting!!! She had a rally yesterday with 7 Military Veterans who are also congressional canidiates in Texas. You can here the rally at Mary Beth Harrell & The Band of Brothers
