This is my latest cactus bloom. To know what I had to go through, you`ll see why it`s named, as it is.
I put a long ladder from the shell on one of my trucks to the shell of one of my other trucks. I put another ladder, the ones that fold into different configurations, folded at one section, onto the ladder between the trucks. Still not high enough [me, I was cool] I then had to climb the ladder with my camera on a tripod. I set it at a 10 sec. delay prefocused on the trunk of the cactus & hit the shutter button. Then I had to hoist the tripod into the air, judge the prefocus distance & pray I was pointing the camera to get a nicely framed picture. The overall picture of my set-up would have fit perfectly in an insurance brochure on what not to try at home.
Anyway here`s the pic I took while hoping I wouldn`t do a face plant into my cactus garden.

I Hate Republicans
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I am so proud of the Diva Dogs. They were locked inside from 10 am till 4 pm and no accidents. The reason for this is they are replacing the siding on the side of the duplex and the Divas can not be in the yard when they are working as the gate is open.
I got a lot of housework done but still have lots to do. LOL I swear I will never let it get this bad again.
Is anyone here?

My two college students start on the 14th and my high-schooler on the 25th. It seems like summer just started. š
The schools in Florida started, maybe, two weeks ago. But, I think that they finish in May.

I just wonder when you have time to clean. You barely have enough time to sleep.
LOL If I just picked up as I went it woulodn’t be so bad. I am the type to wait till even I cannot stand it before I do anything. I have a washer and dryer and have been known to buy underwear and socks because I don’t want to do laundry. LOL
My fabulous motto is: don’t put it DOWN put it AWAY.

I have lots of aunts, uncles and cousins but only one brother and mom. LOL I never had to deal with the big family mess except once a year at a Family runion.
Our Xmas is usually 25-30 people. Family reunion are a monster.
Our Christmas and Thanksgiving is around 50. Oxygen is a treasured commodity.
I did Christmas for 150 once and had a blast. It was in SF and I opened my place to any who did not have a family to go to. I cooked for days and served meals in shifts all day long. LOL
That sounds so cool! How did you get the word out?
It was through the different political, AIDS awareness and civil rights groups I belonged to there.
I would love to do something like that. Since I moved away from my big family Thanksgiving seems so small!
I am planning on doing something similar with the political groups I belong to this year and see if we can do a potluck at someone’s house that has more room than mine.
My family is small and now mostly consists of friends we’ve “adopted.”
My Texas Family is all friends as all my blood relatives live in NC.

Silly me, I should have known. Of course we eat that all the time down here. š
They’re really good and starting to be widely available at grocery stores in the frozen veggie section. You just steam them (I like the ones in the pods) drain, add some kosher salt and then pop them out into your mouth.
It would be good to try, but with the family I’m still trying to get them just to eat pasta. The great thing is I made something with feta cheese one time and they loved it until when I told them where feta came from. Don’t understand it. š
Tell them they’re lima beans – though they’re waaaay better. They taste kind of nutty. Better yet, just fix them for you and family mom They’re fun to eat with your fingers.
Hah she the pickest eater of them all.

Spent the day doing major erranding — went to Big Lots and made some great deal scores, especially on the sundries we’re taking to church tomorrow for the local homeless drop-in center. Then went grocery shopping and scored big on cereals and stuff for the food closet, as well as picking up produce and stuff for ourselves.
My feet are tired, but my heart is full. š
Tomorrow: going to early church service, coming home and getting stuff done around here.
