How’s it going, Andi? This is the last week I’ll be up early to see y’all here!
Hope you are having a break between the job and the start of the school year so you get a bit of vacation.
Good morning Andi and Psi.
Psi you’ve become an early morning fixture. You’ll have to cut back on the college partying so you can make some early morning appearances.
How was your weekend?
It was pretty good. Of course it couldn’t have been as good as yours since I didn’t get to meet Mary. 🙂
The most excitement of the weekend was Tom left a half eaten bird on the hood of the car. Terrible mess to clean up.

I was reading last nights cafe and saw I missed everyone. I’ve got to stop being so slackerly. Well at least on stay up later.
that will likely be the only maryb visit for the week. She told me Sunday night was the only time she had. So you’ll have to pencil in some time on your calendar for next Sunday.
If that’s the only time Mary will be around, Sundays are set aside then. I’ll even get extra sleep, if that’s possible, to stay up later.
Does that mean we can talk about her now and she’ll never know? How was she – REALLY?

to make me get up but I don’t need any — the dogs provide all the sparkle necessary to get me out of bed.

college partying? I’ve got a daughter in her third year and a son about to start. You mean there’s partying going on in college? I’ll have to rethink this.
Thinking about maybe going to join them in the partying?
Thinking of chaining them to their beds here at home.
Did you go through this with your daughters?
By the time my daughters went through that, I was already divorced and they were living with their mom.
If I had been there, I don’t think they could have taken it. I would have been asking for 20 forms of ID and background checks on any guy that came around. 🙂
The problem is I don’t see the guys (and girls!) that come around so I’m powerless – which is difficult for a control freak like me. The hardest thing for me to do has been to let go. I’ve come a long way with my daughter, but just starting with the boy. He’s so funny and friendly and his loss in the house everyday will be felt. 🙁
I’ll need lots of drinking and bad jokes in the Cafe to help me through this.
What are you talking about? You’ve got a new puppy to fill the void. You can put little diapers on her now and later on buy little doggy outfits for her.
But just incase, beer is always good with breakfast. 🙂
but my sympathies for your almost-but-not-quite-empty-nest suffering. But remember you’re not losing a son, you’re gaining masses of college debt.

Saw a couple of hawks out the window — I think they were going after a mouse or some critter down below beside the river here … that was pretty exciting. 🙂
