It’s a lovely morning so far, but all too soon I’m going to have to go do some of the house stuff I’ve been ignoring in favor of writing the last couple weeks.
I had an “aha” moment from coming back from the library yesterday (banned books week and all that) anyways..
I picked up some more books of Kansas’ and again I checked for yours. But… I now realize… I wasn’t looking in the Sci-Fi area. Danni told me about it. I’ve been looking in the fiction… and yeah.. I wasn’t checking with their computers. I like to graze and browse 🙂
Also… another Choke by Chuck Palanuik (whom I love reading) has been stolen from the shelves… damnit. I was told that is how books are censored, too. That groups come in and just never bring them back.
Whenever you get the chance is fine. I’ll just hope that you enjoy it when you do get to it. If your library shelves sci fi with fantasy, it’ll definitely be there. If not, it could be in either section.
now that the jon benet circus has left town, all we have to deal w/ is 25,000 college students hell bent on a few weeks of debauchery before settling into the grind…and the crowds at all my favorite summertime places…
The students just started coming back here as well, and as a boom car went past our window along about 10:00 last night I turned to Dr.Mc and noted that I really didn’t miss them much over the summer. Individually they can be great, collectively. . .
but I don’t notice the students’ return b/c it’s a bigger city … Actually I found it more of a pain when I was a student b/c I worked throughout the summer and once the students returned it was so busy, lineups everywhere, no parking etc., etc. 🙂
So excited and tired – I’m cut and pasting this from the hockey chat where my name is Azul hence Mr. Azul 🙂
Wayne’s the Second oldest on the team but has the second most goals (the top one is in his mid 20’s) I think he’s in the top 8 in the entire league.
It was fun last night because one of his line mates is a Canadian (the oldest on the team). A Defense playing forward that night. The dude is HARDCORE HOCKEY. And his wife told me that they are the only two who have been skating all their lives since the age of 2. (ice hockey, too, Rog)
It was like a game from a sappy hockey movie.
Mr. Azul was the first up in OT. He stopped and took off his glove and acknowledged the goalie (co-worker) with a slight wave. Goalie returned the same by taking of his mitt and holding his arm up. Later he said Wayne gave him a “clinic”. He committed to one side, tried to pokecheck the puck from him, but only got his skate – so while IN AIR… Wayne got the puck in from the other side. Wayne tossed him one of the RedWing hats (they got to pick a hat from NHL teams – along with a big arse trophy – which we took out last night) the opposing goalie is from Detroit. Anyways… it was so great!!! UNBELEIVABLE. Winterhawk probably has the stats but this team was not favored to win.
And no one hollered Gretzky! But we all were screaming.
I came home, stubbed my toe (the piggie that stayed home) really bad – it even bled , while trying to look at the damage by sitting cross-legged on the bed… I fell off. I’m more banged up then he is after a game. LOL
Congrats to them and Winterhawk and Mr. Azul who got 2 goals in regulation and it went in to OT and he scored the GW during the shoot out against his co-worker goalie 🙂
can we bring Wayne back down here for Sharks training camp? We need someone to show the boys how to get it done on the damn shootout…
Afternoon to all; hope everyone’s day is going well. We’re heading out shortly — finally getting the dang bloodwork done (I hate getting blood drawn; they can never get a vein in the arm so usually go directly for the back of the hand), then driving an hour to get some financial business done.
He’s a ringer at the shoot out. 🙂 The game was just so incredible!!! 🙂 But… I’m a hockey nut anyways. But everyone else there was standing up and screaming too.
Sorry about the blood drawn… my mom has that same problem.
Good morning Andi.
I’m having one of the very slow starter mornings. How’s by you?
It’s starting slow, but I’ve got to jump into gear in a little while. Got a doctor’s appointment this morning and a 2 hour drive to get there.
Yep gotta get my good coveralls out and prepare for a trip to the city. 🙂
Ugh. Drive carefully.
Are the dogs giving you a break this morning on going out?
No rest for the wicked.
Actually, I like walking in the morning. It’s a very nice way to start the day. I miss it when I have to switch to walking at noon.
I agree about the morning walks. I think with your pictures the morning walks are perfect.
Around here walking at noon would be miserable. So I just stay inside the air conditioning and walk back and forth to the fridge.
Before daylight savings time, it stayed light enough that I didn’t switch to noon until November. I’m not sure when I’ll this year.
This is your first year for DST isn’t it? Very rude of your state to do that to you. 🙂
and yes it was. Or they could have gone on central time, in which case I wouldn’t mind DST.
Giddy says time to go.
Have a safe trip to the big city.
See ya later.
See ya later. Enjoy.
Slow morning here too. I’m sitting out on the back porch with the kitties and pretending I don’t have a thing to do, though that’ll have to end soon.
Today’s tea: Empire Keemun, still my favorite tea of all time.
Sounds like a nice morning … 🙂

So next time… I’m checking the sci-fi 🙂 sorry
Pet the kitties for me. 😀

later
From one mad circus to another … 🙂
…ain’t it the truth…:{)
early in the morning for the next few wks to avoid them all … 😉
is anything before 11:00 a.m.

because students are about one third of the total population. Things are very quiet when they’re away.
So excited and tired – I’m cut and pasting this from the hockey chat where my name is Azul hence Mr. Azul 🙂

Keith Olbermann is back tonight and goes after Rumsfeld big time.
That’s good news. The show just isn’t as good when he isn’t on.
How are you doing?
I just finished dinner so I’m feel fat and well-fed. 🙂
Sounds like a good thing …
Green bean frittata with asiago cheese.
What on the menu at your place — nap or dinner?
Hello SN, Andi and Olivia.
How’s the day going?
How are you? 🙂
Pretty good. Just trying to get the old and new computers hooked up together. It’s not as easy as they say.
Froggy bottom happy hour is now open.
