It’s a little early, but…

Plenty of hammocks for everyone and we’ve got those little umbrella drinks.
Newcomers, lurkers and old hands jump on in.
Good thing it’s quiet. I’ve got to run an errand.
Back in awhile.
Hi FM,
Briefly de-lurking from work.
Would love to be in one of those hammocks right now.
Hi Ya ask. Got a hammock ready for you.
Lunchtime at work-lots of fruit trees & sheep but no hammocks! Actually the coyotes got one of the mostly-grown lambs last night. Since our main guard llama died there’s been an increase in predation. There’s a skunk family living near the shop-the farm manager’s seen them and I certainly can smell them. I’m teaching my student worker how to run a big tractor with a front loader and she’s loving the job. Hope frogfolk have time for slackin’ and lurkin’ today!
Hi Soup. There’s always time for slacking. π
I must have the wrong place. Or the wrong day. Or both.
Were you expecting to find shit (wrong place, that would be your back yard) or get shit (right place).
My backyard is almost shitless at the moment. I didn’t want Ernesto coming to visit and finding the yard floating with feces.
If you have seen Indy’s latest, you should hie on over and read it.
Truly great poesy.
Wouldn’t start no lawnmower around there. π
It’s a great inspiration for never starting one again, dontcha think?
Speaking of not doing lawn work, how’s the back?
Yes I think if you have a leaf blower around Indy, you sign your own death warrant. π
Back is about the same. Thanks for asking.
Oh come on, I’m so harmless that even my revenge fantasies don’t involve anything worse than haircuts. π
Hi Indy. I could use one of your revenge hair cuts right now.
Wait a minute. I could use just a haircut. π
π
Hi Olivia. π
How’s your day gone so far Olivia?
in a word … π
Aww, I hope things get better soon, hon.
Any repercussions from your big trip yesterday?
Just a crazy day in the cubiverse. π
How are you?
Things are pretty crazy around here, too. I’m still in a flare, and my housemate’s mom is probably going to die any day so the personal stuff is all cranked up to 11. But life, you know, it’s like that.
Speaking of which, I need to run b/c she’s walking in the door and I want to make her some food. See y’all later. {{Cafe}}
Family at 11 is never any fun. Mine’s down to about 9 at the moment with a possibility of dropping to 8 late next week. There’s even some signs that it might get to something like a background 5 or six in a couple of months, but I have my doubts. We’ll see. TTFN.
I’m thinking of ya … sending good thoughts … {{{Indy}}}
pull up a malt and set a spell.
Sounds like we’re all dealing w/ some unpleasant stuff. But, life’s like that as Indy stated. Just have to be prepared to ride the waves as they come …
Oh sweetie, I am so sorry, I forgot you were sort-of phobic. I would never threaten you with clippers. π
It’s a crazy-assed thing to fear isn’t it … π
I would never criticize it. Up until a few weeks ago, I was afraid of ducks. And I’m still afraid of geese. And spiders. And mean people. And, and, and… π
But think how terrifying that would be to olivia. And since FM knows how terrifying that would be to olivia, he realizes that you could be equally terrifying to him.
He doesn’t have to worry, I wouldn’t touch a snake either.
Is anyone still around or have you missed the crowd again?
I guess I’m still here, I think. π
Same old decisive Family Man. I’m bored and the dog is driving me crazy – bark bark bark barking and running from one end of the house to the other. Stab me.
Been there, done that still to some extent. π
It’s the barking moments that will bond you two together.
I’d like to bond over sleeping quietly together, but she won’t stop flopping around and licking my face.
It took me forever to get George out of the licking thing. You’ve got a long road ahead SN. π
Ya know, it wouldn’t be so bad if she’d just lick the right places.
Did I just say that outloud? π
Sorry, all I’ve got is this here weedeater. Not so good with the stabbing, but if you need your hedges trimmed, I’m available. (Whether that’s a Secret Dirty Joke is left as an exercise to the reader.)
After reading about your mad skillz I’m tempted to take it in the dirty way.
Always follow your instincts. I mean, look both ways first, but, you know, then GO. ;p
and then make something dirty out of it — much more perverse.
I’m not that complex, Andi.
warped?
though I don’t know for how long.
Do you do edging and weeding too – because it’s been too hot to do that since April and our yard is a mess. I mean between novels and such maybe you could be a traveling landcaper.
which means I edge once about every five years-or when Dr.Mc starts complaining, whichever comes first. And I weed when the weeds start to win the war on the flowers. Weeds in the lawn are on their own.
Nice logic! π
so how are you doing tonight? Pick one from the how’s olivia gauge:
1 Eating ice cream
2 Eating dinner
3 Napping
4 Going to bed early
now that I’m home … I spent a bit of time in the garden taking some pix … it’s been awhile since I’ve done that.
I haven’t done 1, 2, or 3 … and we’ll see on 4. π I do have eat something tho.
How about you?
I never got my pano. π
I’ll settle for a series of shots instead.
I could give FM a run for the money in the slacker dept wrt to these photos … I tried taking a pano from my bedroom window, but I couldn’t get the screen out and through the glass didn’t work. And I couldn’t get up high enough to otherwise to get the whole thing … I did take some w/ the wide angle tho that might do the trick … I’ll have to dig those out. I’m just really lazy.
work full-time, garden, do photography, have a blog, help out other people doing blogs, be politically involved, participate in othe blogs …
So why haven’t I got your photos damnit right! I have all that time to blog … π
You’re a worse slacker than I am Olivia.
Good for you! π
How’d the errand go?
Went OK. Got ice cream. π
You feeling any better?
What flavor did you get?
Vanilla.
I just saw the news. How’s your weather so far?
How’s that for ESP – I knew you went to get ice cream.
We’ve been having rain bands for most of the day and the wind is just starting to pick up. We’re expecting anywhere from 4 to 10 inches of rain overnight.
Ya’ll be careful around there. Trees during a time like this are my biggest worry.
Is that sort of like cleaning your house before a house cleaner comes over?
Everyone must be slacking. I approve.
BTW I got a call a couple of hours ago from a recruiter asking if I was interested in a 3-4 month job in downtown Seattle. That’s the kind of job hunting I like, where the jobs come looking for me.
I hope the job looks like a good one.
Thanks. It sounds good on the surface, but you never know 100% until you actually get in there. How are you doing?
I’m ready for it to be fall. The woods are in that chewed up, tired-looking stage of summer.
I feel that way lately, I mean chewed up and tired.
Once again, welcome to my world. π
Does this mean I’ll get pasty legs now?
considering everything that’s been going on, I’d say you earned that and then some.
And today the ex called during the middle of the day and hearing his voice always makes me feel sick. Truly – not just saying that to be mean. After 20 years of marriage I’ve spoken maybe 100 words to him in the past seven years.
Sounds like the kind of day to just say the hell with it and go into your kitchen and contemplate the wallpaper.
LOL! I was thinking your could come sit with me at my kitchen table and contemplate it together. There’s alot there to think about, as you know. Like how did 7 different fruits grow on one vine?
I’d like to say I’d sit with you anywhere but I’m not sure I could handle that kitchen. I can deal with the wallpaper or the drapes but not both.
Better yet you need the prize partol at your door.
Good luck with the job Omir.
I have no doubt that I could happily embark on a full time career of spending all that money.
Unfortunately I think you have to enter those contests to win, and I haven’t seen a contest form since I moved here from Texas. (I also haven’t gotten any offers to join AOL in the time since we moved into this house. Sssssh, don’t tell them where I am.)
I hope it’s a lovely one and provides a bridge to something even better.
Hello Kelly. How have you been doing?
got a thousand words on the new book done, doubling its length to date and I’m pretty happy with where it’s going. Unfortunately, I’ve got run out and mow in a few minutes to prevent Dr.Mc who has a nasty cold from doing it herself. How’s life at fabulous FM manor?
Life is fine here at Slacker U. My condolences for you and the lawn.
You’re just working to hard. Slack!
you’re in wisconsin — if you just procrastinate for a bit, it’ll be buried in snow and no one will care.
but Dr.Mc was raised by lawn people. She’s mostly broken the habbit and prefers gardens, but she still can’t abide the lawn getting much past the point where the neighbors start talking.
Hi KMc, if this pans out at the very least it will be money coming in between now and the end of the year. Glad to hear the book is going well. Is this #3 in the Webmage series you’re working on?
Cool, and nope. This is something brand new, the first book in a historical fantasy, YA and World War II.
I’ve got to run downtown on a errand. Would ya’ll keep an eye out for the cafe.
Back in a minute.
Sounds like an exit cue. See y’all later.
