Anyways, I’m going to go to sleep now…I’d like to wake up at a reasonable time to go shopping for food, look at textbooks again, and all the other good stuff.
It’s been a pleasure chattin’ with y’all tonight. Take care.
That was nice of you to think of me. I don’t mind. I haven’t done it in ages and I won’t be doing it much after this weekend. I won’t be around the next two weekends since I’ll be out of the country. Not to rub it in or anything 🙂
Izzy wanted me to take pictures of shoes and do shoe blogging. So today I told her (over at ET) that I was worried about taking pictures of the shoes worn by total strangers. She told me she couldn’t ask me to risk that 🙂
But I don’t think I’ll be near any internet access while I’m gone. None of the people I’m going with are the type to find internet cafes or anything.
these outdoor concerts at the baseball field are great for seeing old friends, we just had the annual blues fest Aug 17, 18. It’s the only time I seem some of them.
I had wrenched mine last fall trying to unload shingles on my roof. Two months later still not much improvement. So I went to a massage person, and an hour later she’d wiped out about 95% of the pain, and although I backslid slightly I was over the hump after that.
Then recently a couple of months ago I managed to aggravate it again. And it just didn’t seem to be getting better. Tried to find a massage person, but they’re booked weeks in advance.
So about that time I heard of a person in town here who’d had back surgery whose Dr required her to walk three miles every day.
So I went for a long walk one night, about a mile and half total, through the fields. That exercise made a very definite difference, ’cause after that, I was on the mend.
Now, if this rib I bruised the other day would just let up a tad I’d be “normal” for a change.
Anyway, FM, I recommend you try a long walk every day.
I’ve been being a bum this weekend, with the rain and lack of motivation. Slacker central. Didn’t even run the vacuum yet, lol. Been seing some good movies though… HIGHLY recommend Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit though.
Yay, I have the day off… #7 this year except for weekends. I need a vacation! So are you at the farm this weekend?
I’m hoping for some sun today so I can get some more pics of the garden… got a really cool vine blooming now. Weather has been cool and rainy here all weekend, so not even been grilling!
and sorry to hear about continuing back woes… I’ve been real creaky myself lately w/all the damp and cool weather. Anyway, see you on dada’s flip side, and I’ll toe tap over to your place later today to say hi.
Tell George to move, and go to bed now, young whippersnapper!
that theraputic walking advice I gave ya wasn’t meant to be a lifetime “focus,” ya can always go back to the usual modus operandi once you’re feelin’ ok again.
I’ve been up here quite a bit working on projects this summer. The last one being a small reroofing job that is now half done.
We’ve got events M night, F night, and the Sat is Bob Dylan, and after that I’ll be back up here again. Besides doing the last half of the roof I need to cut some firewood for the winter. The inventory is pretty low right now.
Wow, you do get around up there! Wish we got out more, but what w/only 1 truck and 2 jobs that don’t coincide, I’m usually stuck at home on my time off. So you’re going to see ole Dr. Phibes sing huh? That ought to be interesting … last group that came through here I was interested in seeing was Rob Zombie and I found out after it had sold out. 🙁
We had a water pipe burst outside last year and I did fix that. It took me 4 trips to the hardware store to finally the get right stuff and half a day to finally get it fixed. Someone who know what they were doing could have been in and out in 10 mintues.
Oh and the dishwasher stop working and I found the wire that came loose. That was a major victory. 🙂
I use a caulking gun to run tar under all the layers on the edges, the rakes (I think they call it) and the eave. That way the wind will never bother the edges.
I’m headed to the city tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to some highspeed sheenanigans!!!
I was beginning to think that NDD had bought the farm! LOL … watch out for those injuries viejo cabrón! I can’t wait for some sun to go get pics of the “Spanish Flag” vine for my b… and have been toe tapping at O’s place the last few days, hehe.
in a peculiar way, I’m sort of on “sabbatical” from RLWork. The projects I’m doing I look at as the equivalent of work, when I consider what I’d have to pay to get it done by others, if indeed that was even possible, as in the rural areas there’s an extreme shortage of const crews, two year waits, etc.
So besides the $ factor I’m rebuilding some phyisical stamina that the past few years of work did not maintain.
And then I actually prefer living in the country…lots of stars and zero noise outside at the moment.
Well, sorta. Didn’t seem like much at the time. One foot slipped off the scaffold when I was kicking some wood shingles off, and I fell into the edge of the roof. At least I didn’t drop ten feet. So that was good.
Never felt any repercussions that day, but later the next, muscles, tendons, whatever is running around by the front of the rib cage was mighty unhappy.
Then at the start of today it was mostly gone. But we picked a couple of good sized boxes of crab apples, that are just great to eat. And I pruned while I was picking, and then I put in an hour tarring and breaking down the scaffolding, etc. So I suppose I aggravated the healing process some.
I will be good to be back in the city for several days. Give the ol’ bod a chance to recover.
Well supposed to rain again but be partly clear, so hope to get some more tomatoes and peppers picked, cut some zinnias and take some pics… and hopefully do more laundry if the weather holds out long enough. Nothing special, same old boring weekend stuff. But I can sleep in again, so that’s good!
Yeah, primo doggie snuggling time w/Pepa and Rolly. Little Surly stays in the other room … though he woke me up this morning howling for some weird reason. P&R just looked up and yawned though …
I noticed several years ago when Dylan performed that song from Wonder Boys at the Oscars, that he looked just like Vincent Price in Dr. Phibes! Ever since, that’s how we refer to Bob, lol. And btw, if you’ve never seen those Dr. Phibes movies, highly recommended cheesy early 70’s camp … but I’m biased, as I’ve been a big Vincent fan ever since I was a kid.
Same here, my friend … forgot to say that one of the things I want to get done today is collect some hibiscus seeds for you and Ms. NDD. Got quite a collection planned to send you guys.
anyway, check out the Vincent stuff, it’s fun … I think it might be on DVD now, though I have all the old VHS, of course, lol.
Sleep well and holler loud when you get back to the city! Seeya soon…
Anyways, I’m going to go to sleep now…I’d like to wake up at a reasonable time to go shopping for food, look at textbooks again, and all the other good stuff.
It’s been a pleasure chattin’ with y’all tonight. Take care.
g’night. Buy plenty of food tomorrow so you don’t waste away to nothing. 🙂
Night Psi.
I hope NDD finds us 🙂
Wait I just thought. The old man outlasted the kid tonight, Hah!
hah!
You’re older than NDD? 🙂
I am?
You were saying you outlasted him? Oh — you meant Psi.
Of course Psi. I’ve got to rub this in really bad the next time he’s here.
Oh NDD — I opened up this new cafe just for you and your slow dial up. Where are you?
He’s probably trying to load the last cafe and finding out there’s a new one.
You know I was just fixing to open a cafe when you did this one. I was taking pity on your mushy mind.
That was nice of you to think of me. I don’t mind. I haven’t done it in ages and I won’t be doing it much after this weekend. I won’t be around the next two weekends since I’ll be out of the country. Not to rub it in or anything 🙂
I’m happy you’ll be gone. Not because I want to see you go, but I know how hard you’ve been working.
I remember what work was like. 🙂
and now YOU’RE rubbing it in. I get it 🙂
Yeah life’s been hectic this summer. Especially the last few weeks. It will be nice to just relax.
Although I “just relaxed” in Minnesota a month ago and it feels like I never went. Oh well.
No I hope you have a really good time. Although I am saddened you won’t be live blogging. 🙂
Well that’s a good thing. Just leave everything behind, no worries and enjoy. Sort of the whole point of a vacation.
I suppose I was writing half a diary for a comment, then caught up on what you guys said last, then found the new one.
Yeah, Ol’ Bob doesn’t have the most melodious singing voice, but hey, he’s an icon of those times!!!
“doesn’t have the most melodious singing voice” is an understatement. He has no singing voice. So you just gotta like the words 🙂
There’s only a few songs of Bob I could ever get into. Then again, I wasn’t crazy over everything the Beatles did.
these outdoor concerts at the baseball field are great for seeing old friends, we just had the annual blues fest Aug 17, 18. It’s the only time I seem some of them.
Most of the old friend I had around here left a long time ago. So it’s mostly just running into them every now and then when they come home to visit.
I wonder if we lost NDD?
He’s still giving romance advice in the other diary.
Do you want to go tell him we’ve moved?
Sure.
I think I’m going to call it a night. I don’t want to get too far off schedule — it makes it harder to get up for work on Tuesday.
Goodnight FM and NDD. It was nice talking to both of you. I’ve missed our late night talks 🙂
Good night Mary. Sleep well.
Hey, FM ya still around for a while?
Yep I’m still up for awhile.
I saw all you’ve been doing with your house. You’re working too hard.
Look who’s here tonight!
Hi there NDD and FM!
Well look who shows up! Hi Olivia.
waking you up … 🙁
Thanks, but it good for me to be up late every now and then. Makes me remember what I don’t like late night TV. 🙂
Forgot to ask. What have you been up to tonight?
a lot of slacking 🙂
I saw that you had to help you sil w/ the internet.
Sort of helped. The darned computer was so slow I don’t think she got anything done she wanted to.
Tomorrow I will get it installed.
Sounds like a lot of work to me … 😉
Work – such a dirty word. 🙂
I don’t have to go to work tomorrow … 😀
What it’s a holiday for ya’ll too?
Do the Canadian holidays never end? 😛
aren’t you glad you’re becoming one now … 🙂
I’m wondering if I can do a dual citizenship and have holidays thoughout the year. Never have to go to work.
Oh wait a minute. I do that now. 🙂
I had wrenched mine last fall trying to unload shingles on my roof. Two months later still not much improvement. So I went to a massage person, and an hour later she’d wiped out about 95% of the pain, and although I backslid slightly I was over the hump after that.

Ah man, that just so much against my grain.
I’ll probably have to if I’m going to get a decent nights sleep though.
Well and Oh FSM, I can’t believe who’s actually around here tonight! Woo hoo!
Great Googly Moogly, it’s IVG!
How are you doing?
I’ve been being a bum this weekend, with the rain and lack of motivation. Slacker central. Didn’t even run the vacuum yet, lol. Been seing some good movies though… HIGHLY recommend Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit though.
I heard that was a good movie and I love those kind of movies.
Good for you on the slacking. 🙂
Oh he also said, don’t eat the yellow snow. 🙂
He also sang a song about Penguins in Bondage too. Among many other twisted themes.
Yeah that Zappa had a way with love songs. :~)
It’s like a late night reunion … 🙂
I went downstairs to brew some tea, and I’m thinking where’s IVG and dada, and come back to find we’re batting .500 so far.
So how’s it going? Ya got the morrow off?
Yay, I have the day off… #7 this year except for weekends. I need a vacation! So are you at the farm this weekend?
I’m hoping for some sun today so I can get some more pics of the garden… got a really cool vine blooming now. Weather has been cool and rainy here all weekend, so not even been grilling!
Hate to cut in, but I’m cutting out. Starting to nod off.
Ya’ll have a good rest of the night and a good tomorrow.
and sorry to hear about continuing back woes… I’ve been real creaky myself lately w/all the damp and cool weather. Anyway, see you on dada’s flip side, and I’ll toe tap over to your place later today to say hi.
Tell George to move, and go to bed now, young whippersnapper!

yeah, you can say that again. But I’m disinclined to pay some other yokel 25-30 per hour when I can still do it myself.
And then here in the boonies it’s a two year wait, ’cause most all the carpenters went off to the city for the big bucks.
I completely understand, but I’ve found with me, I get only one out of five home repair jobs right. The other four I end up calling someone in anyway.
hey, FM, I’ve had them thar learning experiences a few times, so there’s several types of projects I no longer do either, ha!
I don’t do muffler work, and I don’t do brakes. And I don’t come near any sort of gas appliances.
But I still do most of my own plumbing and electrical, at least out here in the boonies.
We had a water pipe burst outside last year and I did fix that. It took me 4 trips to the hardware store to finally the get right stuff and half a day to finally get it fixed. Someone who know what they were doing could have been in and out in 10 mintues.

You’re still working hard I’ve been reading …
I use a caulking gun to run tar under all the layers on the edges, the rakes (I think they call it) and the eave. That way the wind will never bother the edges.
I’m headed to the city tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to some highspeed sheenanigans!!!
Anything new at the b?
you bruised a rib I think I read …
It’ll be a big change to be back in the city — seems like you’ve been at the farm for a long time now …
The last pix were the Morning Glories – the one that looked like cereal.
I was beginning to think that NDD had bought the farm! LOL … watch out for those injuries viejo cabrón! I can’t wait for some sun to go get pics of the “Spanish Flag” vine for my b… and have been toe tapping at O’s place the last few days, hehe.
seems we do a lot of toe tapping at each other’s b’s … hmmm? 🙂
of getting in the way for some reason! Then slackitude takes over and that’s all she wrote.
in a peculiar way, I’m sort of on “sabbatical” from RLWork. Got an exotic plans for the day off tomorrow?
you’re heading back to the city for a few … so you get a break … before you start chopping that wood! lol
no plans here … love it … 🙂
Well supposed to rain again but be partly clear, so hope to get some more tomatoes and peppers picked, cut some zinnias and take some pics… and hopefully do more laundry if the weather holds out long enough. Nothing special, same old boring weekend stuff. But I can sleep in again, so that’s good!
I looked forward to that all week … lol
Yeah, primo doggie snuggling time w/Pepa and Rolly. Little Surly stays in the other room … though he woke me up this morning howling for some weird reason. P&R just looked up and yawned though …
Little Surly lol
At least I think so last few years
must be the evil twin, ha!
Yeah, but it seems like BD has always has somewhat of a bizzare look to him.
VP did a whole lot of great movies, that’s for sure. Somehow I missed Dr Phibes. I’ll see if I can keep that in the memory banks for a few days, ha!
Comotosicity is starting to set in here, so I’m thinking that horizontal thing seems rather enticing at the moment.
Hope to you into you guys again, soon, when I’m back to speed, so to speak.
Good night IVG and NDD … Good to see you dudes again. 🙂
Take care of yourselves …
And have fun NDD.
Seeya soon…
yep, ya got it, those ten day stretches of nonstop projects… ha!
Hey, lookin’ forard to those h seeds. She doesn’t know there coming yet, so it will be a nice surprise on of these days.
Thanks, in advance!
hasta manana!
Good Morning everyone. I have been up for the last 1.5 hours reading dairies and drinking coffee. LOL
