One of my cats had to go to the vet this morning with a urinary blockage. It’s life threatening, but hopefully he will be okay. For the second weak in a row the Comcast people failed to show up to fix my internet connection, which has been intermittent on the wireless for three weeks now. Sorry to leave Steven holding the bag this morning.
Comcast sounds worse than Time Warner.
This is why I prefer DSL: it may not be as fast, but it’s, at least, stable.

This morning C-Span replayed a panel on Telecommunications Issues in which he took questions. He admitted Comcast’s growth has been so phenomenal that some nodes are not delivering satisfactorily. The last question was on this topic. Good luck!

I’m relatively pleased with Comcast because they brought jobs back INTO California that AT&T Cable sent OUT of the state. If Morgan Hill wasn’t a bitch to get to via public transit, I’d consider applying…

Five years after the 9/11 attacks, Al Qaeda shows no sign of weakening. Thousands of young Muslims have become radicalised – many joining the jihad against American-led forces in Iraq.
Some become suicide bombers there. Others return, with military training, for operations in western countries.
Peter Taylor follows the trail which takes these men from their homes in the West to Iraq, and asks what progress is being made to stop the recruitment.
