You open up a cafe, I guess you oughta put a comment in it even if nobody else is around.
I’m around, but not very happy about it and planning on going back to bed shortly.
and suggest you go fluff up your pillow.
Going to go try that now. Good night and good morning.
Morning all!!!! I wish I could figure out how booman gets the yourtube vids to display here. I use the html they give at the site to embed and it doesn’t work. LOL I did my first music video in the wee hours of the morning and here is the link to it.

Bummer — for me. Youtube on dial-up: play for 10 seconds, load for 2 minutes, play for 10 seconds, load for 2 minutes ….
Sorry Andi!!! Someday your neighborhood will have highspeed. but then it want be rural anymore either. LOL
One of the rural electrics nearby is beta testing internet access. They’re touting speeds of around 255 kbps for 29.95 (higher for more $$). Not too speedy, but probably quicker than dialup.
Interesting, BTW that the spellchecker just tagged internet as misspelled.
anything is faster than dailup!!!!!
Where’s this happening (and why isn’t it happening here)?
SCI REMC has been testing in Morgan County. I’ll see if I can scare up a link.
SCI REMC broadband pilot project. You’re on Duke Energy aren’t you?
I was hoping it was Duke. The only way that would be likely to do me any good is if every other remc started offering it and duke felt like it had to compete. And I don’t see that happening any quicker than the likelihood that we’ll get dsl.
I just found this re: broadband at the Duke/Cinergy site. Looks as if they might be working our way with it albiet slowly, as this was dated 2004. Gosh, I thought this was supposed to be one of the big benefits of the telecommunications deregulatory bill Mitch was pushing so hard last year.
Forgot to note that pigs have recently been seen flying over southern areas of the county.
I meant to say earlier that I’m having the same difficulty with YouTube. I even looked up the code on one of BooMan’s diarys and didn’t see anything other than the YouTube code and a couple of those < div > thingies. Maybe that’s it. Anyway, I must go to work for a couple of hours, then to the soggy rally, so won’t have time to follow up today:(
Maybe some kind programmer type person will see our tales of woe and enlighten us. Have a great weekend!
I don’t suppose you already went to your outside event. If not, sorry about the rain. 🙁
Just back from work and headed for Brand Hollow barbie and Democrat rally 4 – 8 p.m. Mrs. Dem is down with some version of the vapors today, so will get to stay home and read novels like any sensible person would on a day like this.
Morning, Andi.
Anyone know how Booman’s cat is doing?
Morning Kidspeak!!! I didn’t know booman had a cat. Sorry to hear it is sick.
Hi, Refinish,
Do you every sleep? Those pics in your video were great. Cleared my pre-caf headache all at once!!
And I quickly add that his shubs does not generally have that effect on me!
I don’t sleep a lot. LOL Thanks for the compliment. I am uplaoding a new one as I type that uses the song “War” fomr the 70’s.
here is the link.

Not me — I didn’t know he had a cat either.
Have you checked with the Gang of Four — I’ve always suspected that there is some sort of universal pootie communication system
He mentioned urinary blockage yesterday, briefly. Sounded serious.
The GO4 have never had this, stating that as long as I feed them their favorite food, they will cooperate fully and never have this problem. But I am always on probation. . .food preferences change, you know.
I am so glad dogs don’t have the problems cats do or their personalities either. LOL I mush prefer animals who actually want me around other than when the can opener starts. LOL
If you could see my enormous white boy right now, murmuring softly to me (and making it really hard to type), you’d not think he was interested only when the food container is opened. I’m on the wrong computer, or I’d show you his picture.
Oh, Refinish, you just weren’t raised right! You never had a bonding experience with a cat in your formative years. I am SO sorry! If I were in Austin, I would rush right over with some hand-picked flowers from my garden (well, what’s left of them, anyway), and express my sympathies.
LOL I will stick with dogs. I took care of a cat for 7.5 years and the damn thing hated me till I was the only hyuman in the house.
The two of you needed couples therapy. There is such a need for Human with animal therapy, sadly. When I am just another aging southern lady, that will be my niche in life.
Not for several decades, I hope!
LOL well little to late for that as jerry the cat went away about 5 years ago. I am hoping he is enjoying catnip somewhere with the rest of the dearly departed cats of the world.
I hope it’s something fixable — it would be really awful to go through it again so soon.
It can be pretty bad, but it can be treated successfully for many cats, and is usually preventable with a change in type of food. All jokes aside, my cats haven’t had any such problem once I knew what foods made this extremely unlikely.
Morning Andi, Refinish, Kelley, Kidspeak and lurkers. And what a soggy morning it is. I have an outdoor rally to attend this afternoon and it looks as if rain gear is definitely in order.
Morning Indianadem. Our out of doors is all misty and grey and hot, hope yours is at least a bit cooler. Not great for an outdoor rally, however. My sympathies, and admiration.
About 80ish is predicted, I think. Though since this is Indiana, it could be snowing by nightfall;-)
Sometimes I think we’re living in a scifi/fantasy environment.
Morning!!!! Sorry about the rain but I am sure the rally will still be great!!!
Yes, its always great to be around like-minded folks. I guess that’s why the Memphis meetup was so much fun for us. Wish we could make Chicago, but the campaign (and county chairman) are strict taskmasters <sigh>.
Yeah, blah isn’t it, although the radar shows that the rain is pretty well to the south of us.
give in to the dogs’ dancing around impatience and go take a walk.
See ya later.
Have a good walk, Andi.
I’ve got to go face the chores of the day, too.
Just got back from the dog park where I found out that weekends are are absolute hell. Tons of dogs, tons of orphan piles of poop, and Hopeful is worn out and covered with slobber. Weekdays only for us from now on.
Mr. Nature is out getting us some coffee and spinach artichoke egg souffles from Panera, then he’s off to France for 8 days. Would it be terrible to say “yay!”?
After a week of beautiful, clear, breezy and cool days it will be in the high 80s and humid for the weekend. Back to the AC.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!! Yes it would, but only if you said it to him.
Would I do that? 🙂
Well the radar was reliable for about 2/3 of the walk. But the dogs are so soft after they get soaked in the rain (too bad it doesn’t work for me).
I used to love to wash my hair with rainwater. Now I’d be afraid the acid would burn off my remaining hair.
Okay this is weird — when I first posted my comment I could see the picture but now I don’t. Do you see it?
No, it disappeared.
Good to know BT is trying to gaslight me. It wasn’t that good a picture to begin with.
So how’s the Queen of Dog Slobber behaving?
She’s not as tired today. I think it’s because the dog park had so many dogs that she didn’t have to run around to sniff alot of butts – they were all over the place.
It’s baaaack.
Now it’s gone again. :/
And it’s back — for me, anyway. Freaky.
Hey, did you sell your shelves?
Huh?
I got a clever craiglist ad from you about some shelves. I figured you probably had masses of folks wanting to buy them.
Ooookay. Now I remember. I just ran across that ad and thought it was funny. Isn’t it great having a conversation with an hour in between responses? Big big migraine going on here. Biggest in months.
sorry hope you feel better soon
Sorry about the migraine. Lie down and try to think of England … or something.
Ah, I thought it was your ad.
It’ll be more than an hour this time — we’re heading out to do errands and then go have some Thai (can’t think what put that into my head) for dinner.
To hell, if I don’t change my ways.
Or to Canada, in my dreams.
Or let them come to me. I’m still waiting to, in the words of the Slashdot crowd, welcome my new Canadian overlords when they accept Washington (soon to be renamed Baja BC) as Canada’s newest province.
How is everyone today?
So, they substituted flash fried Arugula last night for the spinach. It was OK, but not really the same. <sigh>
Well, yeah, I can see that if you have your tongue set on spinach.
Bombay Dreams was cool. I thought it was OK as a musical — something a little different, but still Broadway-ish. My main complaint was that some of the accents were a bit thick to understand; on the other hand, they had a very cool percussion setup with two drum kits in balconies on either side of the stage.
But my granddaughter, she loved it. She insisted we buy the soundtrack (which was of the London production, so it had songs and a character that were completely absent in the production we saw). Ever since we’ve been treated to “Love’s Never Easy” and “Shakalaka Baby” all day up to the point when she went out to play with her aunties. (And she took the CD with her to play it for them.)
So I’d say our trip was a success.
shakalaka baby … heh. You’re bringing back memories.
As I said, I thought it was very colorful and upbeat (mostly). In the production I saw (which may be the same touring company YOU saw) it was really hard to understand for the first 20 minutes or so, but then they adjusted the sound.
I thought the whole set was cool and I liked the costumes. And one of the people I went with loves Bollywood movies and said the dancing was truly in the style. Glad you liked it.
Probably only to the store-having people over for an equinox dinner. The weather has cleared and warmed back up so we may be able to have a fire in the barrel outside as well.
I have slept enough 2 nights running which is a major triumph in the insomnia struggle. Had a dream this morning that I was with friends on bikes passing a side street with a house for sale on it and realized it was mine and was happy. Metaphor for moving forward I do believe.
Hope you all enjoy this first day of fall.
