Olivia showed me how to make colored boxes with shadows along the bottom and right side. But I need to shift it to shadows along the bottom and left side — we couldn’t figure it out. We could only shift it to the left and top.
But it doesn’t really matter, I decided I didn’t need it anyway.
Heh, sorry for scaring you. I’m a little drunk so I’m not quite as smooth as I normally am. It’s good that you decided that that html issue doesn’t matter because shadow-shifting is definitely beyond my ken.

Thanks. Yes, my housemate’s mother. She was probably the closest thing to a mother-in-law that I’ll ever have. A damn fine lady doctor. One of only a handful of women in her medical school class. Brilliant.

I didn’t really buy much. I did buy a cute little red leather wallet purse that I just love. Italian leather goods are so buttery soft.
Yeah they are. Nobody makes a sportscar interior like they do. I bought a new leather purse yesterday and it was noticeably not Italian. ::pouts::

It seems like all of Italy is designed to be a groovy touristy sight. We did day trips from the house we rented. To hill towns in Umbria and southern Tuscany. Lots and lots of wine and good food. Lots of walking straight up really big hills. Lots of gorgeous views. Lots of gorgeous italian men and women đ

There were four of us shopping that day and we all ended up buying something leather. One person bought a really cute leather messenger type bag that she was going to use for work. My sister bought a grace kelly/jackie kennedy style tangerine colored handbag. Another person bought another handbag. I bought the wallet purse. It was a successful day. đ

It really has been a fucked up week all over, hasn’t it? Every time I think I can’t get any more dumbfounded by the state of our national politics, I am instantly proven wrong.

Yep, dumbfounded. Luckily I had an emergency bottle of Christian Brothers Brandy on hand….and beer. They didn’t mix too well but they did the trick when I needed their support!
Beer and brandy — yikes, dude. But yeah, I remember my twenties, when doing a thing like that wouldn’t take me down for a whole damn week, heh.
The last time I got really really drunk was 7 years ago when one of my very best friends in the world died of complications from AIDS. That last month was so horrible and the night he died I didn’t get much sleep because of all the paperwork, etc. that had to be done. And sitting with his parents and his partner.
The next night I went out with friends and drank way too much — but not in sadness. I just needed to completely unwind.
So I say, have a few more drinks.
Oh, I’m done for the night. I’m sitting here eating Captain Crunch so I can take some Advil and hopefully dodge the worst of the hangover. We’ve still got the public memorial service this weekend. Then there might be more drinking.
I’m sorry about your friend. I lost my best friend like that back in ’96.

I have a big glass of water alongside the cereal. đ Actually, I haven’t had all that much to drink but the disability has made me a lightweight, so it doesn’t take much anymore. But now that I realize how late it is, I really should go. We still have some things to do tomorrow before the memorial thinger on Sunday.
