Mornin’ Andi, goodnight Keres. Great pic today. I want to explore those shadows and see what’s in that far away clearing. If you get a chance, check out CG’s quotes today in the Newsbucket. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. The cats are STILL afraid to come near me. Have a great day, kiddo.
Fun stuff in the newsbucket.
(It’s not a clearing — the far trees are on the other side of a hollow and when the sunlight is angled just right, the hollow lets the light through to light up the trees on the far hillside.)
CBtY loved the potato one too. 🙂
Good morning everybody! It’s Friday!
I’d heard most of those before but I’d never seen them all in one place. They’re pretty funny.
This sort of thing happens occasionally at Microsoft, which is after all a worldwide company:
I seem to remember that they also have gotten into trouble with the Indian government by not including all of Kashmir on a map, and with mainland China by not calling Taiwan a “province.” With stuff like that, it doesn’t matter what we here in the US think, it’s what the governments that regulate the sales of the sale of software in their country think.
Welcome to Friday, all. Mine’s about over, so it’s up to you to take up the baton and do Friday justice.
Hi Andi, we got your email.
Would it be possible for me to call you, or does being online tie up your phone as well?
I just sent an email to Imogen with my cell phone number for you to call.
Can you resend your cell number. I think you put one too many digits in it. Anyway, it didn’t got through when dialed as written.
sorry — I typed the whole thing wrong. I sent it again. The first 6 numbers are correct but the last 4 are 7377.
You have mail.
and I hope that — eventually — you’ve got speakers.
FSM willing and the creek don’t rise.
Thanks again. Enjoy your Chicago meet up.
Nighty night.
For all we know you and Keres could be spies and those numbers are to a secret locker somewhere in Tasmania that contain information that scores of international spies are right now combing the globe to find? Hmmmmmm?
Good morning Frogpond-type human persons! This is the last Friday of my current stretch of unemployment, so I haven’t decided whether to try to get a lot of work done around the house, or just be lazy for one more day.
Laziness will probably win out.
My son had surgery to remove his appendix on Wednesday. It was very tricky and it required an 8 inch vertical incision from above his belly button to his pubic bone. Nowadays appendectomies are done using three tiny incisions and a laparascope (sp!) but his appendix was very large and had perforated and adhered to both his colon and the abdominal wall. They had to remove and staple a couple of inches of his colon.
He’s still on the NG tube and a catheter and has a morphine drip which he can administer to himself every six minutes. He’s in alot of pain still and had an anxiety attack – very unlike him – when I discovered that his IV had become disconnected and had been dripping all over the floor for at least two hours. He’s lying there in a bed that is plugged into a 220 line in the wall and there’s a half-inch of liquid on the floor! Plus his IV site had become dried out and sore. I wonder how long it would have taken them to figure out that it was leaking if I wasn’t there.
Anyway, we’re waiting to get the nasal-gastric tube out hopefully this afternoon and then he’ll be able to have ice chips for the first time in four days.
Thanks everyone for the good thoughts and lovely, caring emails. It’s so comforting to know people are thinking of us!
So good to hear. Hugs and love to both you and Colin but you can deliver them without mentioning that there coming from a strange (very) woman — and some hugs from us to Mr. Nature for keeping us informed.
Hi SN.
I’m very happy to her the Nature Boy is doing fine.
Though the big question is, how are you holding up?
I’m glad he’s improving and that you’re there to take care of him.
How are you doing?
I’m pooped. Thanks for asking. 🙂
I think I’d be seriously debating the wisdom of locking my children in the house till they were, oh, say 50 or so, after what you’v been through wwith Ryan and Colin in the last several weeks…
You take care of yourself.
I got home late last night and read Andi’s email of what happened… and I wished I could reach out into the night and let you know I was thinking of you (((Second))))
Take care!
I’m glad he’s doing well and that you’re there to feed him his ice chips. I hope he gets to go home soon (you too).
