In the meantime, we have Bush et al asserting that the dems will take no more than 7 or 8 seats in congress and will not get the 6 seats needed for the senate, touting some miraculous 72 hour GOTV effort. I have visions in my head about that GOTV, seeing stealthy folk plugging in their little thumb drives into Diebold vote machines.
This, in spite of the new Foley scandal and Woodward’s book and the book touting the use of the radical christian right by the devils in the wh now, could just work. People on our side seem loathe to accept that we we will have to do some heavy lifting in order to change things for the better. WE have to accept responsibility for this government, not just blame others. What that looks like to me: 1) we have to be ready for any and every eventuality whether it be this admins foray into yet another war, or tampering with the voter rights or voting mechanics WE have to be ready with challenges. 2) If we did win, what reforms need to be enacted to keep this money laundering bunch from trying it yet again? Pelosi’s 100 hours would be a start but much more would be needed.
