Made it all the way till 6:30. I could get spoiled.
Morning (or evening) whoever else is up.
Good morning Andi.
FMom woke me up at 2:00 am this morning and unfortunately I couldn’t go back to sleep.
So what’s on the table for the second day off?
Bunch of errands followed by going up to Indianapolis to see my mom and take her out to dinner.
When do you get to be the relative free?
Sounds like you have a lot of work to get done on your day off.
Supposedly they’ll be gone on Sunday night. But with these relatives you never know. All you ever do realy know is when they show up, they’ve arrived and when they’re not around, they’ve gone home. 🙂
Hope you and your Mom have a very nice and pleasant dinner.
Maybe you could infect them with an ‘Andi’ virus — I hate staying with relatives and will only do it under severe duress.
How is it that folks always seem to show up for an undefined amount of time — is everybody in your family retired?
I’m afraid the ‘Andi’ virus would have the opposite effect on them. 🙂
It’s usually the same relatives and I wonder sometimes where they get the money to be going back and forth. But since FMom enjoys them being around so much, I just keep quiet.
Good morning, Andi.
Please help hide the recent comments by user mananahoyt – (only 2 so far).
They are filled with spam (links to all sorts of sites, incl. porn).
Good morning ask.
I noticed that and wondered what was going on.
Will do.
Hope you’ve got a pleasant weekend planned.
Fixed.
BTW, we re-scheduled Chihuly for next Friday (hopefully it won’t rain again).
Are you’re around for the evening, as well?
Got the babysitter lined up already! Do you want to meet up then?
Absolutely!
We should both be out from work by 5.30 or 6.
Drinks & dinner?
Sounds good to me.
Well, I’ve set mananahoyt so they can’t post any more.
But this brings up the problem of what to do about spammers. This is the second spammer we’ve seen in the last week, and that’s a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is that someone thinks BT is worth enough time and attention to spam. The bad thing is, of course, that it’s spam.
I can clean up after spammers, but maybe there needs to be some better way of letting me or Boo or Andy or someone know there’s someone piddling in our petunia patch. I’d like to think there’s a way to ban spam as it’s being committed, preferably with a way to run 110 volts of pure AC goodness into the IP connection of whoever is responsible, but I’m not even smart enough to figure out what it might be.
I have no techie solutions, but I will curse their souls to eternal damnation. We all do what we can.
That’s all well and good, but if it would work they would all be screamin’ demons by now. Might make us feel better, though.
Good morning everyone …
Good morning Olivia. Is it Friday already? 🙂
The nephew is up and I’ve got to get breakfast ready.
I’ll see ya’ll later.
Hope all pond dwellers are ready for Friday and the weekend! Had dinner at a friend’s house last night-she and her husband, both in their 70’s, are from Tibet. Their son brought them over from decades of refugee living in India and installed them in suburbia in a tract home near where I work. They are both extremely lively and tough and do a little yard and house work “for old people”. They were showing me video and dvd footage of their home village and the temple they’re building along with their siblings. Felt like I’d been traveling myself by the time I went home.
Sounds like you’ve got way cool neighbors. What a treasure.
I love the curvaceous tree, Andi.
I finally finished my court report and had my first cup of coffee, so the rest of the day is mine. Yay!
So what are you gonna do with your day? I want to run over to the hospital thrift shop and look for 2 more kitchen chairs.
Hope you both have a good day relatively off. Mine is going into the new novel for a bit, then lunch with Dr.Mc. and the chair of the English Department–mmm Chorizo!
working on the new book–a very dark WWII fantasy YA and really enjoying myself. This one I’m in love with in a way I haven’t been with a book for the last several–which is not to say that I didn’t love the work and enjoy it–just that this one is extra special. That’s a real joy and I feel like it’s some of my best work to date. Best of all, my writers group and other early readers feel like I’m really on to something too. It’s nice to have that early feedback and it makes me really appreciate that I’m not working in the vacuum that so many writers do.
My morning tea (prepared by the brilliant, lovely, and very thoughtful Dr.Mc) is Scottish breakfast, a rich black with an undertone that’s not quite smokey, but close.
The one fly in the ointment is the ongoing family stress. I feel a bit like I’m fighting a rear guard action against a close relative’s will to self-destruction and that I’m slowly but surely losing.
Sigh. On the other hand, hodwy does sound more than a bit like the greetings used by the Al Bhed in Final Fantasy X, so maybe it’s not a total loss. Pretty spiral tree there, Andi, btw. And FM, hope the family soon wanders off to wherever they go when they’re not with you and that you can return to true slackitude.
Hey, all — remember me? Northern wooly bear currently entrapped in steaming red-state madness? Hope everyone’s enjoying a wonderful day, looking forward to a great autumn weekend.
Still dealing with painful neuropathy here, can’t hang out much — but Andi’s delicious woodland pics always draw me out — like soma.
This is truly a lovely one, Andi. You’re doing your poor displaced pond-mate a wonderful service. To hell with anti-depressants! I’ve got the pond.
Shout-outs to everyone I’ve missed.
Glad to see you’re back in the saddle! Sorry to hear about your neuropathy. That does NOT sound like fun. I’ve had to pretty drop out, too, due to advancing CTS. However, I’m polishing up on my lurking skils!!!
Hey! Great to see you too, mythmother! I’m sorry to hear about the CTS. I can relate somewhat, unfortunately.
If you can’t respond I’ll understand, but I’m wondering about what type of treatment regimen you’ve been offered. I was just reading about CTS this morning in the Prescription for Nutritional Healing, by James & Phyllis Balch. It’s an amazing resource, really — many recommendations beyond the pharmaceutical.
Hope you’re doing ok otherwise.
Just read your comment, and can respond about the treatment. Just checking if you check your replies, since I know the diary has faded away by now. I’ll check back!! {{{{ww}}}}
Good morning all you Frogpond-dwelling type human persons! Here we are one step closer to daylight. How is everyone?
I need to put my Random 10 together.
Evidently my last test results showed I was dehydrated, so now I’m worried the spouse is going to drown me in cold water (figuratively speaking)…he heard that word and panicked. I think it was probably because I was sleeping so much that I wasn’t able to drink enough (humans have yet to perfect the art of sleep-drinking; maybe FM can work on that…).
Other than that, feeling better — been up for a bit, got the bed made and laundry put away, now need to have something to eat and get some more work done…
I need Happy Hour. Lovely nature shot, but I need a vodka shot. I woke up at 9:02 am – my schools opens at 9:00 am. Fortunately I live only 10 minutes from the school so I was there by 9:30, but the day went downhill from there. Madness reigned, cold rain during Fire Drill, me seriously out of whack which messes the kids. Aghhhhhhh! Please, for the love of FSM get George to open the Lounge and and pour me a drink. I’ll take three.
I feel your pain, teach, I’ve had a crappy day as well. I haven’t heard that Cabin Girl isn’t going to put up a happy hour, but if she doesn’t in the next 30 minutes or so I will.
or devil whichever you prefer. How’s Case of the Piddling Puppy progressing?
Pretty piss poor. 🙂
We’ve had two male cats we finally had to find a new home for because the would not stop marking the boundries, i.e. all along the outside wall. Our vet helped us find a farm for them. I hope HJ is just “going through a phase.”
