You mean basenall season isn’t over yet? ROTFLMAO!!!!
I lived in Ann Arbor for sixteen years — gotta go with the Tigers!
…how old I was when I first watched the Cards play the Tigers in the World series.
But as I recall, Tim McCarver was catching for the Cards, and Joe Buck’s dad was calling the games from the booth.
Cardinals! Sorry, I grew up near St. Louis and remember the ’80’s when they rocked. Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee… very sentimental stuff.
I take it their team isn’t supposed to be that great this year, but I’m rooting for them anyway.
That’s okay, poemless. I still love ya.
Cardinals, my hometown team. I loved those 80’s teams, too. “Go crazy folks, go crazy!”
I was 14 when Detroit beat St Louis in 68, one of the best World Series I have ever seen.
Bob Gibson appeared to be invincible until that last game,
Mickey Lolich, was outstanding and made that Series happen.
A truly remarkable Series.
Go Tigers.
How are you doin GhostdancersWay? Nice, real nice to see you here.
Doing ok, family is good, my children are wonderful and I am healing. Working on two Democratic campaigns in my area, hoping something will change. I hope all is well with you and your family.
I echo super … really nice to see you ghostdancers way! Good to hear that you and your family are doing well.
Thank you olivia, glad to be seen and feeling better, diet, my spiritualism and the love of my family is bringing me out of the nightmare I was experiencing in my head. I hope all is well with you and yours.
GDW! How the heck are ya? I just stopped by to say hello and I’m glad you sound like you’re doing well.
Omir, thank you for asking, I truly am healing and glad for the love of family and the power of Great Spirit in my life. Doing Sweatlodges, smudging and drumming with my prayers and life is truly better.
I hope all is well in your life as well.
Hi GDW, agree with everyone, great to see you stop by. Hope it becomes a regular feature.
Thank you ask, always nice to be welcomed back by those I respect. I hope all is well with you and yours. As you have read, I am doing much better and hope to spend a little more time here than I have these last few months.
Actually, me four. And more than that I’m sure, as all of your friends here have probably not seen this open thread.
It’s nice to see you here, for sure. I think about you regularly and try to send some vibes. Glad to hear things are going well.
Thank you blueneck, I have been carving pumpkins with my children today while my wife does some resurrecting shopping, you know the shopping that soothes all the insanity of the week. Actually she is shopping for winter clothes for out two children.
We have carved three pumpkins today and had a ball doing it, next year my oldest will get to carve much of his own pumpkin, he is very excited.
That’s great, gdw, I am glad to hear about shared family time. I fondly remember carving the pumpkin every year with my young child. As a matter of fact, I still do it every year, by myself if necessary, to revel in those memories of shared time in years past. Now I just hope the neighborhood kids get a kick out of my scary jack-o-lantern. It serves to tell them on halloween that there are plenty of goodies at my house.
it is to see you Ghostdancer, and to hear that you are doing well and healing. Looking forward to your return on a more regular basis.
Peace my friend.
Thank you dada, I am hopeful that I can make the time to spend more time here. Booman Tribune and so many here hold a very special place in my life.
Namaste
Go Tigers!
The Tiger’s uniforms look a lot like the Yankees uniforms. That’s good enough for me.
Actually, Tommy Lasorda shamed me out of my cocoon ;o)
My first team was the Cardinals, way back when (+SL). They were the default team for Mid-South baseball fans. I still have an interest in them, but I’ve moved on and left the Cards behind, at least as a serious fan(=). Detroit beat the crap out of the Yankees(+DT). I hate LaRussa(-SL). I love Leyland(+DT). The Tigers play in the Bogus (DH) League(-DT). I’m a die-hard NL (Real Baseball League) fan (+SL).
Net result? I’m all mixed up, so I just wanna see a game seven with extra innings and may the best team win…..
From your fingertips to FSM’s noodly auditory appendages.
Reading this on Sunday AM after the Cards pasted us real, real bad last night, at home even. I think the week lay off has left my Tigers a bit out of sorts. Cards played very well, so they definitely have the favorite role now. Hopefully, there is still enough in the Tigers tank to rev up for one more streak of good baseball. Maybe, with a bit of luck it will be enough. Raining and cold here today, if they play it tonight, it will not be baseball weather, that is for sure. Go Tigers!
BTW, I was about seven years old when the Tigers traded my first sports hero, hall of famer George Kell to the Red Sox for the “immortal” Walt Dropo, so I go back quite a ways with them.
In 2000 I didn’t want either team to win. Oh yeah, there was one I wanted to win less than the other one, but basically I don’t think much of either team.
This year, I don’t want either team to lose. I like ’em both. My daughter, however, spent time in Michigan and likes the Tigers. Besides, she says they sound like Tigger.
