And no, I’m not coming at the morning from the night before. I acutally went to bed not long after 10PM, and slept like a rock until about 3AM, so I’m doing laundry and checking up on the news.
And we’ve had two days in a row of sun, so I’m out in the boonies cutting some firewood.
andi —-> How’d the travel go yesterday? I was stuck in Dulles from 5pm to midnight. Some weather problems, but real reason turned out to be the best excuse for a delayed flight I have ever heard. Initially we were told the co-pilot was in the terminal and they were looking for him. This was repeated in 20 minutes. Then came a chagrined announcement that “The co-pilot is no longer an employee of the airline.” We waited a few more hours until a new one could get to the airport.
I had to drop off Imogen at the airport today. She’s a delegate for the Tasmanian Greens Party to the Australian Greens National conference. She’ll be back on Monday. Until then, Luna gets to sleep in the den (aka our bedroom) with me.
There’s a lovely beach near the Hobart airport, so we left home early and took Luna for a walk along the beach. There is now a small sand castle worth of sand in the back seat of my car.
Well, I hope Albert snuggles up with you so you won’t be too lonely. I just got back from being out of town and I think my body is always aware of the empty bed.
It just wrong going to bed by yourself when you are used to sharing. I usually stay up well past my bedtime when Imogen is away, as there’s little impetus to getting in bed.
As for Albert , he got another bath the day before last (he’s all scruffy because he’s got dandruff and is shedding his winter coat), and he’s still not talking to us. He actually peed on Luna yesterday when they were both on the couch. The little pisser.
Luna’s never been on the bed, and I doubt it would be a good thing to break that rule even once. But she does like sleeping on the floor in the bedroom. Unfortunately, with her snoring and lip smacking, etc. she’s a bit too noisesome for Imogen, so she has to sleep in the living room on the nights she sleeps inside. Which is why we eventually broke down and made a cover for the couch, so that she could sleep on it.
And on that sleepy note, we’re off to bed (and floor). She you all on the flip side.
I miss the coyotes. When I lived very rurally in Northern California, they would sing most every night, and we’d see them quite a bit as well.
Last week we went to Maria Island a got to see lots of the native fauna-close up and personal, because the whole island is a national park and the animals are used to humans wandering around without bothering them too much.
I haven’t done much with those photos yet, but I might be saving them for the photo fair. I haven’t decided yet.
way to get up close and personal… I’ll keep an eye out for your FF diary. I’m headed back to the big city Friday afternoon so I can submit mine early in the wee hours of Sat. Plus a bunch of political stuff going on Sat too.
Here in NE Pa we have coyotes as well. If I hear them a million times, they always give me goose flesh. The yips, yelps and barks aren’t so bad. It’s the howling that gets me. Our coyotes are eastern coyotes and I believe that they are quite a bit larger than their western cousins. A full grown coyote here is about the size of a very large German Shephard. Locally they are known for being brazen and quite unafraid of humans. I’ve even heard them in the middle of the day answering a distant siren. I would miss them for sure if I lived where I couldn’t hear them.
It’s about time ya got up, Andi.

when I got up or I wouldn’t have gotten up.
Unfortunately, it was way past time to go to bed when I went to bed.
Be careful with the chainsaw.
but the question would be; what nefarious activities kept you up past your normal bedtime?
as in flying in, not as in flying over
Were the federales nice to you? Notice any significant changes since previous trips?
except that they are clearly getting really bored with looking at make-up and neosporin in plastic bags.

Sounds like they found him in the bar.
That was the consensus among us disgruntled passengers.
I was flying southwest and only going from chicago to indy so the chances for problems were pretty slight.
Morning all.
It’s late evening here and I’m enjoying a homebrewed hefeweitzen (a wheat beer with the yeast left in) and starting to think about bed time.
starting to think about bed time
Me too.
Oooooo. Not a good way to start the day.

Ah yes, the revenge pish.
I guess you could snuggle with Luna instead but I have a feeling she’s not a great bed sharer.

early morning 24/7 FBCs. You’ve sure got some exotic species there relative to ND.
Last night, out here in the boonies, I was surrounded by coyotes howling, singing, sqeaking, … pretty weird.
