Have the first beer on the froggy.
How is everybody doing in the pond today?
FM! The place hasn’t been the same without you…
Hi CG.
Thanks, but the cafe keeps rolling along. π
How have you been?
Keeping busy and out of trouble…
CBtE is mowing the lawn/leaves right now. I am sooooo happy. I’ve been begging for weeks.
And now I have to run to the farm to pick up our vegetables…see you when I get back!
See ya later. Pick out some good veggies.
It isn’t the same when he’s here, either.
Just sayin’ . . .
So you’re saying I’m an enigma. π
Wrapped in mystery inside a riddle. π
I like this Froggy person. You don’t suppose he’d spot me about a hogshead of what I’ll be having, would you?
Omir need you ask? Two hogsheads if ya want. π
A hogshead with a spigot. Gee, I’m as happy as a Republican congressman at youth camp. Or I soon will be, if I keep drinking.
Always remember to keep drinking though. Gotta have that to fall back on rehab for.
I heard you can avoid being hung over if you just stay drunk.
Not that I would know, of course.
From past experience I know that to be true. But even a long drunk has to end sooner or later and the later part is pure hell. π
I think diet Dr. Pepper is a good starter for a long drunk though.
Oh don’t be silly, you can’t get drunk on Diet Dr. Pepper.
At least I never have. I gave up on it for a long time back in the early 70s because back then it was just plain nasty. It’s better these days, I’m sure.
We’ve missed you and George around here. I thought George had run off with a hussy little poodle or something.
I afraid poor George was fixed at a young age, so he would be running off only to play hop scotch. π
That happens to the best of ’em, FM. At the dog park the males hump anything that stands still – even after they’re fixed. It’s pretty funny.
Years and years ago, I used to have a dog that would start humping visitors when they came over to the house. It got to the point I would have to put him in the back of the house when anybody came to visit. Then he would whine the whole time so loud you couldn’t have a conservation. Really quite frustrating. π
I once was pushed into a corner and full-body humped by a standard (huge) poodle named Paul when I was about 10 years old which his owner just laughed. I’ve been traumatized ever since. And not just ’cause I have a brother named Paul.
To bad you didn’t pick up something and start swinging at the dog or its owner. I’m sure the owner wouldn’t had laughed then.
FM and George are back … the lights are on!
Good to see ya … :*
The resemblance is uncanny!
Not really. I have a more pronounced pot belly. π
Good to see you too. Where do you find all of these gifs? π
Time to push those clouds photos time down the page, dontcha think.
Hi Andi. Yep I think you’re right.
Have you recovered from your trip?
I only got about 4 hours sleep so I’m really sleepy.
Nap with Sniff so you can stay up with the big kids.
Really not conducive to geezerhood. π
Good to see you back …
Are you done travelling for a while now?
got those photos all picked out?
Nothing scheduled on the traveling so I hope so.
Oh and I have a new nephew as of today.
Oooh, can I smell him? What’s his name?
Congratulations! π
Yeah, that was a lotta hard work I hadda do to get myself that little guy.
I hope it didn’t hurt you too much. Did you “go natural”?
lol … π
all ya gotta do is come up here. His name is Montgomery (joining sibs Max and Miles).
Tell them to keep trying until they get a girl. I’ll take any extra boys.
that’s what montgomery was supposed to be — I think they’re done.
(in the interests of purity, I should clarify that he is my great-nephew)
I was wondering about that. I was at the dog park today reading that book by Joan Didion and a lady who looked to be in her early 60s said, “oh, joan didion, you must be in my same generation!” I wanted to die.
Well if a generation is 25 years …
shut up – I can’t hear you.
Why can’t someone who’s 21 say that to me?
because someone who is 21 doesn’t think that someone who is 25 is in the same generation.
The CBs don’t smell so good anymore…
I’ll bet they smell like that stinking bishop cheese. Or is it just my teenage boys?
Ewwww.
Oh, maybe it is just my boys. π
Ok, not stinky cheese, but really smelly feet when they were about 14. I would make them keep their shoes on the front porch.
you know, those tube thingies … π
OoooooooK. π
Seriously, I just google … and voila!
Hey there Olivia, FM, Omir, CG and all!
I’m finally emerging from the nearly 2 month long work project from hell today! Gave the presentation this morning and it went really well, and now I can put it all out of my mind! (Just in time, since it was about to drive me out of my mind…) And I’m ready and in the mood to party now … especially since the next 10 days are all MINE, for me to myself, as a long deserved bit of vacation.
Maybe now I can start to get caught up on all sorts of things (yes, FM, will update the blog soon, I promise!) that have had to fall by the wayside for so long.
Big Halloween party Saturday night and the big night next week … scrambling to get the rest of the outside display up tonight and tomorrow. I’ll have pics sometime soon, so check at the b-thingie in a day or so…
nice to see you around — mary and I were really bummed you didn’t come to chicago, though. π
Are you going to make a contribution to the photo fair?
I know Andi, I felt bad about that myself … but in mid-Sept it became apparent that with all the traveling I was doing and the length of this work project, it just wasn’t going to work. I hope you and Mary will find it in you somewhere to forgive me on that one … Believe me, I’d have much rather been in Chicago than doing the analysis I was doing that weekend … This particular job has kept me from doing pretty much anything “fun” for the last couple of months… grrr.
I’m hoping to get my photofair act together by this weekend, but it’s going to be hectic with the party and all, but I have picked out most of the pics I want to post and Olivia has assured me via email that she’ll help. (Ain’t Canadians grand people??)
Still wishing I had the ultimate doggie pic to post though … but with all the family drama going on around here the last month, haven’t even been able to do that. (e.g. many trips to the hospital to see C’s dad who had a brain clot and surgery 3.5 wks ago… ) that has really thrown the proverbial monkey wrench into our lifestyle lately… not to mention adding another (temporary) dog to the household! 100+ bounding pounds of lovable golden retriever charging at me when I get home from work!
so just take a quick shot and post it in thursday dog blogging — as long as it has fur or feathers, we’re happy.
Helloooooo IVG. It’s good to see you and it’s also good your presentation is over. You need to tell your office they are taking up too much of your time. We need you over here. π
Time to celebrate!
Wowie … everyone’s here! π
Nice pic O! Many thanks…
That just reminds me we have a long chilled bottle of “indictment champagne” that never got opened… I hope we’ll be able to crack that in celebration come 11/7-8 … otherwise it will probably just languish down there until New Years… which I hope it does not!
Oh btw, saw the Wallace and Gromit “A Grand Day Out” the other night on Sundance … the very first short and a dandy too! They go to the moon in search of (what else?) cheese!
Some obscure cheese named something like Stinky Bishop? I heard the guy that makes that cheese on NPR last year. His orders skyrocketed and he couldn’t keep up.
Ah yes, here it is.
Should have known you’d have that pic already O! LOL Do catch that one if you get the chance … Gromit was already the star even back in 1995!
I have to get going now and wrap up a few more things here before I flee for the evening.
Don’t get too drunk, FM… will hate to hear that Olivia had to drag you out at some point. π
Catch you folks later with any luck!
See ya later IVG. You get home and relax. You deserve it. π
Hi IVG! Glad your work project is finally ending!
I’ve got to take George out for a short walk.
I’ll be back in a minute.
Good to see so many of you here whoopping it up;)
I’m taking a little break from cutting firewood out here in the boonies.
What with the speed of dialup I’ve probaby got time to go load another wheel barrow load while my comment processes.
I the mean while try to keep OMIR from dancing on the tables.
Hellooooooo NDD. Cutting firewood? I saw a commercial for a hydraulic log splitter. Sounds like it’s right up your alley.
’cause so far the 12 lb splitting maul I’ve got is only powered by armstrong (not Lance):)
I was thinking about you today whilst chainsawing. I may have broke out in a sweat twice…or so.
I’m thus wondering, would I still be in good standing as an FM-BT Slacker, or would I have to do some ablootions or sumptin’?
Working hard, are ya? Getting any good sunrises? π
So far the sunrises have been getting up to early, and today, I was up at 4am patiently waited until 7AM, and no sun, so I took a little nap, and it snuck around me;)
you’ll have to try again tomorrow … π
I’ll be headed into town about 7PM my time. I’ll be watching game 4 of World Series, if’n they don’t get rained out again.
I might check into the FBC later tonight.
Were ya swamped with the FF non-diarying folk?
So hope you see this later.
Nope, so far so good … seems like things are under control.
(And since you’ll be reading this later … I hope you enjoyed yourself. π
Hey, NDD – I just got two North Dakota quarters in my change today. Thought of you…
say, what’d you think of the Cards win tonight? You suppose maryb is doing flips;)
Loving it. I’m hoping they close it out tomorrow night, because Game 6 of the World Series makes me extremely nervous (think 1985 with Don Denkinger, the Evil Umpire, or 1986 with Bill Buckner, or 2002 with the Giants and Angels).
I’m guessing maryb was at the game, ‘cos we haven’t heard from her.
