Color and b&w
I wanted to select pictures showing different places, and I also somehow had to have an even number of color and b&w. Most of the pictures were taken in an old-fashioned way, with a film camera, either 135 or medium format. I’m still not entirely comfortable with digital. |

I love the outdoors so this picture is especially appealing. The way you’ve composed it really heightens the visual appeal.
What an amazing shot! It looks like something out of The Lord of the Rings 🙂
It’s an amazing place. In August I walked that same route the alpinists are walking in the picture, and then crossed the Vallee Blanche to Italy. We were roped up all the time, as there are quite a lot of crevasses and such. The altitude was a bit more than 3800 meters, but we had acclimatized ourselves by doing some trekking and climbing duríng the previous days, so we had no altitude problems. Sadly, the weather turned out to be pretty bad – snowing, windy, and absolutely no visibility. It was quite frustrating to be there knowing that the most incredible mountain views one can see in Europe are now around me, but I just can’t see them!
Luckily we got to our destination before the weather got dangerous. Maybe next time we’ll have even better luck and I’ll get some more pictures..

the colours and the composition
The beach of Nice at night. The streak is an airplane either descending or taking off, can’t remember which.

I miss the summer colors of Finland.

This reminds me of walking once, through one of the few stands of true tallgrass prairie in northern Minnesota, in late summer, at sunset. The line of blue and green in the back chills. The sun seems to get brighter at the end of the day, like this photo.
Sounds nice! Yeah, it’s an evening photo, taken on a very small island near Helsinki.
Maybe some of that similarity is why so many folk from Finnland, Norway, & Sweden settled in Minnesota.
Sorry about the misspelling – my fingers slipped!
Finland!
No problem – in some languages it is Finnland. Yeah, I’ve heard about the Nordic people in Minnesota but I don’t quite understand them – if you’re going to emigrate, why not go to a warm place? 😀
I said the same exact thing to the Ethiopians in Sweden. These were rich kids who split their time between Italy, Canada and Sweden. Why, oh why, would you stay in Sweden during the winter months?

I love this one.
Wow…that looks like a pic my father took of Kansas City in about ’78. I’ll have to see if I have that photo somewhere. Same exact composition, too.
Interesting! I’d love to see the picture.

Here’s a photo my husband can get behind (teehee). I go through his photos to post online and out say 200 pic, 189 of them are of girls butts. Okay, I’m exaggerating, but there seems to be awful lot of girl booty in his photos.
Hehe! I swear I was not thinking of girl booty when I took the picture. Now, if there was some guy booty…

Hope I did it right. My thumbnails look awfully small.
I had some troubles – I had the photo comments ready in a text file and was planning to copypaste, but it did not work. Kept complaining about tags and whatnot. I guess linebreaks in wrong places or something like that..
You did a great job w/ the templates!
And you’re right about the line breaks. Sometimes if there are spaces added it will not format properly … you can try turning off word wrap, and if the code is all on one line, it should paste properly.
Thanks!
I’ll try that next time. 🙂
