Brown County Indiana: Summer-Fall
More from my walks through our woods. I’m very lucky that our property is bordered by well over 1000 acres of woods with no roads intersecting them. Though most of the pictures are from our 40 acres, all of the lake pictures are from the kids camp next door. |

I would like to thank the bee for ignoring me so long that I was able to take this shot and get everything mostly in focus.

It would have been nice if the spider had built the web in a slightly more scenic location but I have to give her props for knowing where the good light would be.
I love the light in this picture.
Its the place to be for bugs, dontcha know. I really like this one.
This kind of spidery thing I love to see, if I can see it coming far off, not by walking into it!
Great shot!
Oh my – this is breathtaking! Reminds me of Andy Goldsworthy’s work. Thank you for all the photos in this collection.

The lucky combination of a rainy night, early morning, and breaking clouds that narrow the sunlight does nifty things
I love all your photos Andi, but I think this one is my favorite.

I took about 50 photos of this spot over the summer before I got one that was any good.
I feel that if I look hard enough I’ll catch a glimpse of the deer that just walked out of the sunlit area in the back.

There aren’t very many spots where a picture of an opposite hillside can be taken because generally there’s just too much ‘stuff’ blocking the view.

The same (almost) view 90 days later, though there’s now less ‘stuff’ in the way.
What a great idea!

A fortuitously placed greenbriar catches and positions a leaf perfectly to catch the light and my attention.
Thumbnail-size I thought this was a flame. Beautiful.

The camp’s lake is one of my favorite places to take pictures since there are some many different ways to shoot it — like this panorama.
Wow …

Nobody has lived in this cabin for decades but it resolutely refuses to fall down — even after a tree fell on it.
I don’t know why, but I love pictures of abandoned buildings. It must be the Detroiter in me.

A really good example of why I like walking in the early morning so much.
These are all wonderful. Your photos always make me feel like ‘this is home.’
Beautiful. Peaceful. It is going to take days to give these diaries all the attention they deserve.
stunningly beautiful!!!! You capture the essense of nature and make me want to explore it.
News flash–you’re good.
Okay, I’m officially jealous. Where do you live and is there a house for sale nearby? That dawn pic along with your winter lake pic just sold me.
There are always places for sale around here (brown county, indiana) and compared to either coast the prices are ridiculously cheap but you have to be willing to live sort of nowhere (traffic willing it’s 45 minutes to a good thai restaurant) with no broadband, lousy water pressure, and very conservative politics. And I am.
No broadband? Heathens! Savages! HAHAHA
Okay, there is no way I’m convincing my husband to move somewhere broadbandless. We made an offer on a house here and that’s one our contengencies. For some reason that particular house wasn’t getting broadband we let it go and it was a good price too!
Wow.
ok, ok. I give up. After your two diaries I am now officially “good” with the idea of having YearlyBoo at the camp next to your property.
and besides, there’s Sniff.
As you already know of me, that I just absolutely love the sunrises of anyplace…ever. YOu have pictured them to the extreme very well, andif. Thanks for giving me some joy. hugs
It is my pleasure — really. I get the joy of being out there to take the picture and the joy of sharing them with you.
Beautiful, all of them!
for your kind comments.
