fOtofair2006 – vieravisionary – Loire Valley/Animal Kingdom
These are some of my photos I have taken during visits to the Loire Valley in France and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I used a Nikon N80 for the Loire Valley photos and a Nikon D70 for the two photos from the Animal Kingdom Theme Park in Orlando, Florida. |
I had the opportunity to visit this wonderful chateau where Charles Perrault, visiting in the 17th century, took inspiration from it when writing “Sleeping Beauty”.

There is a house in Detroit that was modeled on this very chateau – albeit quite a bit smaller! As these things go, should we be surprised that it now houses a law firm? It is quite a large house, nonetheless, and lovingly restored by the law firm.
oooh I call dibs on one of the turret bedrooms.
I take seconds! Thanks!
It was a great opportunity to capture this wheat field with the ruins in the background during my Loire Valley vacation.

This picture is timeless. It could be part of a book of hours.
Thanks! I just enjoyed being in the field and gaining a new sense of strength by trying to capture the moment!
It is not a great photo but I found the designs in the Villandry gardens amazing.

Amazing! (As it were.)
Beautiful photo.
Thanks Kahli! I have purchased a wide angle lens since my trip, so I look foward to improving on this photo!
I spent a lot of time trying to take this photo of a swan that resides in the Villendry gardens. I guess she/he was very camera shy!.

The Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the most unique sculptures I have seen. The dolphin was one of many animal depicted on the tree.

All these photos are so good but I do love this one. It’s amazing how animated it feels.
That is so true Andif! I just spent the day looking and trying to drink in the view. It was a quite a day for my family as well!
It seems that every time I try to take a photo of a bird, they turn their head away from me. It must be something that I am doing to cause that!

This was a common sight in many of the small towns in the Loire Valley. The color of the flowers and the houses were great to see.

I love this one! Makes me want to pack up and move there and ride a bike to the market every morning for fresh bread and flowers.
I would love to join you, Second! I was so at peace, I did not want to come back because the simple scenes just left me so relaxed! So, picka time and we will see if we can meet in France!
At one of the many places I stayed during my visit to the Loire Valley, I was able to take this photo of a beautiful red rose that was part of the climbing rose bush on the property.

More good work.
Thanks Steven! I greatly admire your dairies and your comments are much appreciated.
Happy pictures. I have a ton of bird photos, but my issue is that they either start flapping or attacking someone. I have a pic of a huge swan attacking this lady in San Francisco. Right before I pressed the button, the swan was stately and had this halo of light around it.
Birds and I seem to have a problem if I have a camera with me :-)! Guess I need to get dressed up like a bird to get them to look at me! Thanks for the kind words!
