Our forests are almost all second growth. The old-timers told me when I was little that the county was completely stripped of trees 100 years ago.

Most excellent.
Our trees put on quite a show of color in autumn. Some areas seem to be especially brilliant year after year.

Tip: Don’t bring these vacant looking nests into a warm house in winter. Sometimes there are snoozing critters inside.

I’ve noticed a lot of artists painting this old roadside barn over the years. If you’ve ever been to Indiana University, you may have passed by this spot.

Very nice! The Ohio is such a beautiful river.

We visited there once to dig up family history. My mother’s family lived both there and in Mt. Vernon in the 1800’s. I’d really like to go back to explore further.
A trip to Indiana is looking better and better.
I liked the firehouse. I never knew why the old ones had towers like that.
