It’s been so long since I’ve been here. I have missed everyone. I’ve been so busy working for our local Dems I forget to eat. So wonderful to see you all again. Just one more day and we will be able to take back our country. I will have my car out all day tomorrow picking up folks that need rides. Wish me luck
I will do that…hopefully I will get a lunch break…maybe…hope we defeat that horrible ban on gay marriage here in Colorado. How in the world can we as humans deny another person basic human right to deal with their partner. I’m so sad for this nation and this state that we have to vote on legal rights for anyone
the AZ version is Prop 107, but at the moment is headed to defeat [cross all fingers]. It’ll wipe out all civil unions/protections, even in cities where they are already protected by law. Hopefully we win that particular battle. I voted last week by mail so now just trying to work on friends and family to get to the polls mañana.
I have to say one of the saddest parts of this whole thing is the hypocracy of the pastor Ted Haggard. His church is here in Colorado Springs and he was the one preching hatred and sin and guess who is the biggest sinner of all?
The only thing that’s sad is that Haggard, Foley, Hastert and their ilk aren’t poster boys for the face of the republican’ts in every district in the country where D’s are running against homophobic/xenophobic R’s…see Tancredo…and/or, looking at a ballot initiatives re: gay marriage and partners rights…ie: colo: Musgrave v Paccione.
Good morning Andi and FM.
It’s cool out here. Heading out in a few minutes to meet the asklets. The older one is busy with drama classes all day – young asklet will come to curly’s.
That’s what little boys are for.
Young asklet also believes it’s his calling in life to annoy his sister as much as possible. Good thing she has patience.
I see the FM led Slackerly Movement akin to spill’t molasses oozing slowly from a high point of an uneven table, pooling leisurely onto the floor with effortless, hypnotic inevitablity. As it is dribbles along, the gooey rivulets gather adherents, who passively renounce all other interests and plans to join the peaceful slackers drifting along in the sweet, sticky flow. All is calm, all motion downward. Gravity sings its siren call. The molasses smooths away friction until we, the newly sanctified slackers, are vertical and have attained napdom. FM, peacefully below the fray, is curled cozily on his perfectly formed sofa, (the hip fits here, the knee pillows just so, a large, shared pillow for George to share, a homemade quilt drawn up under his chin). He lazily opens one eye, smiles, and welcomes us to the movement, before returning to his holy nap. We yawn, return the sleepy smile, and fade away. Life is sweet, when you know Inner Napdom.
Well, Today will be a busy day with launbdry, housework, phonebanking and doing yet another podcast. I will be throwing in some naps as I am still sick with a horrble cold that is trying to get worse instead of better. LOL
Here is the link to my latest video I did at you tube.
This poem was written by Alexander Forbes Emerson, the great great grandson of the philosopher poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. Alec’s brother, William ‘Bing’ Emerson, died on November 20, 1968, fighting in Viet Nam. The title of the poem is “George and Jesus”.
Alec writes lots of poems but this one hits the nail on the head. It is truthful and powerful. I’m asking everyone on YouTube who likes the poem to videotape a version of someone reading it, place it on their YouTube site and show a link to the following website http://george-and-jesus-the-facts.info/
You will have to copy and paste the link to go to the site. Also, please send this to anyone you know who might be interested, and please, quickly. If we can get something this powerful rolling
on the Internet, it can create a huge buzz, perhaps even make a difference in the coming election. … (more)
Howdy, all. Hope everyone’s enjoying a lovely Sunday. Can’t help but be cheered, myself, by a wonderful breeze flowing over this steaming coast. Winds of change, perhaps.
Andi, I hereby inform you that every time you post one of your lovely woodland images, an angel gets his wings.
That’s such a nice thing to say that I hearby inform you that every time I post one of my pictures, I’ll pretend that I actually believe in angels. 🙂
They do go stale fast. These loaves are already all grey & dried out.
I watch for them every year at about this time & they never disappoint. I took quite a few shots of these & took some close ups in between the layers. One of the close ups I put in a comment in a fOtofair diary titled
“Violent Conception”. Some people wonder where the “Sweating Rapist” came from. Between the slices.
I’m doing better tonight than the last few nights when I was tired and crabby and kind of down about it.
I went to the GOTV rally this evening and Obama was the speaker. It was a great time and it really lifted my spirits. Which, of course, was the point, wasn’t it? 🙂
Claire’s run a smart campaign and we’ve all worked really hard for her. I think she has a great chance of winning, but even if she doesn’t win we can all be proud of our work. It’s all going to come down to outstate Missouri — as usual.
Whatever it is that I have to do today, I don’t want to do it and if I don’t have to do anything today, I don’t want to do that, either.
Good morning Andi. Sounds like one of my normal days. 🙂
except that yours is out of slackerness and mine is out of grumpiness or maybe acute election anxiety syndrome.
Yeah I guess I do have a natural flair for slackerly days. I’ll be glad when Tuesday is come and gone.
but ‘glad’ is going to depend on how it goes.
I hope we’ll be relieved and glad. I actually thought some of my slackeriness had started to rub off on you from your first comment. 🙂
I aspire to slackeriness but Jim keeps saying we can’t afford to retire and slacking and working just don’t mix.
The slacking and working I’ve found that to be true. 🙂
And I still feel this way.
Ick.

best of luck tomorrow. Come on over to the coffee cart thread and fill us in on how things are going in your district

Good morning ask.
Yeah it cold here too. It’s 45 F right now. 🙂
Hi, ask. The boran2 boy is a natural at drama. With him, it’s a way of life.
That’s what little boys are for.
Young asklet also believes it’s his calling in life to annoy his sister as much as possible. Good thing she has patience.
It’s not? I thought that’s what big sisters are for.
Good morning froggies! I did some phonebanking yesterday but will be slacking today.
Hi Boran.
Slacking today? My message is getting out. 🙂
Hi, FM! Your message has taken on the proportions of a movement.
I was thinking I would like to be head of a movement, but I’m too slackerly to do anything.
No, that makes you perfectly suited.
Yeah but to get a slackerly movement going, you have to have someone to do the work. That negates everything. The eternal question I guess. 🙂
Speaking of non-slackerly, I’ve got to get breakfast ready. Talk to ya’ll later.

Still sunny and warm here on the lower left coast.
Know any rain dances?
Howdy, all. Hope everyone’s enjoying a lovely Sunday. Can’t help but be cheered, myself, by a wonderful breeze flowing over this steaming coast. Winds of change, perhaps.

How about a cool green path to make you forget where you are? Colors are finally peaking here, but this was what it looked like a week ago.
How about bringing a stack of pita bread to make sandwhiches with on your walk.
I wondered were pita bread came from. Oh boy, now I can go pick some fresh loaves.
They do go stale fast. These loaves are already all grey & dried out.

The breakfast dishes are still on the table?
How you holding up? Your race will be one of the toughest.
