I went in late (9:30) but worked all day, including through lunch.
But I left early and just made it home. I’m skipping my wednesday night meeting tonight and just vegging.

Mary, congratulations! What a great victory. I’m very glad for – well, for all of us. We didn’t do quite so well here in California (somehow we re-elected the Gropenator, and we couldn’t pass our alternative energy initiative), but we did unseat the unsavory Richard Pombo in CA-11, a race in which we took a direct interest even though it’s not our district (ours is Anna Eshoo’s – she’s almost as safe D as Ms. Pelosi herself).
No, I worked from 7:30 to 6:00 cuz I had a deadline (that I should have met yesterday, what was I thinking?) and needed to get something out in the FedEx tonight.
I think I’ll be crashing early tonight.
I am thrilled with the national news and some of the Texas news but still feel sad about some of the races we lost here. Such a mixed Bag day. LOL I have finally quit watching teh news and gone back to watching cartoons instead. LOL

Not much action on Gilmore Girls — lots of bonding between Chris and Loreli and even more bonding between Luke and his daughter.
Veronica discovered that one of the rapes was faked to get the frat boys in trouble but found a possible suspect for the other ones but Logan says he can provide an alibi, Keith is getting it on with the married lady whose husband wasn’t cheating on her.

If I tried to wash dishes right now, I’d end up drowned in the sink where I fell over asleep. Having dozed off several times sitting at the computer (I should not tryy to grade essays while also following threads – especially on a couple hours of sleep) – I’m going to just lie down and give up the ghost. I might or might not make it upstairs to an actual bed.

No idea. I don’t like champagne so have very limited experience with its bottling selections.
I like champagne on occassion. And the bubbles really do make it “go straight to your” (I spare you the tretis on the joys of CO2).
I’m currently enjoying a homebrewed Hefeweitzen (German beer with some wheat malt added to the barley malt, and the yeast left in, hence hefe yeast, weitzen wheat. I just love German literalism.
Well don’t get too blitzed — I’m leaving the cafe in your completely capable hands.
