I think it looks great. I don’t know if you can do this with photoshop or whatever program you use, but I did a picture of me and made it into a drawn outline.
BTW I really hope you don’t mind, but I used your pictures over at my place to announce the Official Slacker Mascot.
If I had a photo to morph I would have tried photoshoping it first. But alas, all of the times I’ve seen wombats sleeping upside down they were in wildlife parks that had a viewing window into the wombats’ very dark burrows. Not an ideal photography setting.
I just sketched the above from memory. And I’m not very good at cartoons, so it was a bit of a stretch to get that sensibility as all. Maybe that’s why it strikes me as lame anime. š
And no, I don’t mind at all if people use my photos.
As I said, I like it and I don’t think it’s lame. It was just an idea on the other. I think you’re very good at cartoons. If I had tried that, I would have gone through a ton of paper and still not had anything.
You might try shadwoing in the fur for the wombat.
Actually, I’m an inveterate shader, and I have to work very hard to just do line drawings.
My quandry is more about capturing the correct characterization, than it is about what kind of modeling or technique to use. I’ll keep working on.
Well the sketch is much better than I could do. I can not draw at all which upsets me no end. I have a copy of drawing on the right side of the brain but have never really stuck to the lessons or kept up with it. I think I might start back working on that again in my spare time. LOL
I’m a firm believer that art is like any other skill – most people can learn to do it well. It’s like math, you have the “naturals” who just get it. And then there is the rest of us, who learn it to the best of our ability if we are given the opportunity and put in some effort. Bot example, I’m a natural at geometry, but I struggled with algebra – yet I’ve learned both.
No one expects anyone to do long division without having learn the techniques, and doing a fair bit of practice. Yet we treat art differently, assuming that if you have don’t have “talent” you can’t do it at all. Hogwash.
Keres I agree with you. I know I’m a natural at slacking, but everything else I have to work at.
I agree 100% because even the ones with a natural gift still have to learn and work at it.
Now I don’t know about that. I’ve never put any effort into slacking. But, if I put effort into slacking, it wouldn’t be slacking. The eternal question. š

If you Mozzilla FireFox as a browser, you can highlight a word on the screen, and then right click and get an option that says “Search Dictionary for [highlighted word]”. Click on that and it opens an online dictionary in a new tab and looks up the word for you.
It’s the slackerly method.

OK here a question for better minds than mine. That’s 99.999999% of everyone here.
The subject line is too long and it looks like it isn’t letting you post with that long of a subject line unless you change it. How do you change the original subject line to where it’s shorter?
like I just did. What’s in the “Subject” box is not fixed. Just treat is like the “Comment” box.
OK I’ve got what you’re saying there, but when anyone comes into the cafe and just posts a comment, they still get the to long subject box unless they change it. I’m trying to figure out how to go back in as froggy and change it so any newcomer that might drop by won’t have to figure out why they can’t post.
Unfortunately, when someone replies to the original post, or replies to another poster, the subject box just repeats the subject “upstream” from it, and adds “re” to the front of the subject. It’s usually the “re” that makes the subject over long for the replying person.
As froggiebottom, just make sure you leave about 4 spaces in the original title of the Diary (so that “re” doesn’t put it over limit). Replies to threads within the diary, well, you can’t really do anything about them.
I go through and delete part. If the sunect line is too long the computer tells you why your post won’t go. It is real simple to correct.

Oh, don’t use ampersands, or other punctuation in the diary heading. It’s why you see “amp” (short for ampersand [&])in so many reply headings

I hate grammar. I teach American Literature. I love Whitman and we just finished Huck Finn.
When I was in college and took literature I really liked it. I still have my first college literature book and that was about 35 years ago. Why do I fell really old all of a sudden. š

Trust me cooking or going out was not on the agenda today at all!!!! Checking tha mail was a pain in the ass becasue the community mail box is over a block away. LOL
I know what you mean about the mail. I have to drive into town to get our. Going a week or two is not unusual for me getting the mail.
We also live out-back-of-beyond. Our mail is available for pick-up at the petrol station/chips (as in french fries) & fried food counter/various overpriced sundries shop/post office.
For making this a great Birthday!!!! I am calling it a night. I need to get some much needed sleep.
