Good morning, Andi (?).
Great picture, as usual.
Dawn is just starting here in NY. It’s raining outside and the forecast also warns of possible heavy winds. Not exactly prime conditions for the Macy-parade.
Glad you like the pic — and if you squint, it almost looks like it is a river.
I’ve never been a big parade fan, even as a kid. Basically, I wasn’t a fan of anything that made me sit still — except reading, that I could (and can) do for hours.
I’ve never seen the parade live, either. But it may be droning on in the background on the TV. Happy Not-Working – hmm! We painted curly’s kitchen yesterday/last night. All the stuff in the living room is now stacked up in the center of the room, so we’ll be busy this morning as well. Then dinner at her brother’s/sil’s.
Doing actual work on holidays goes against my most sacred beliefs.
I went to one big parade once — the one for the Indy 500. All I got out of was a lesson — don’t wear sandals to a parade or you’ll get a burn on the top of your feet.
…goes against my most sacred beliefs.
That’s tongue-in-cheek, I presume.
Not only painting coming up. I just found an interesting article in The Economist on “how democratic’ the various nations are. I’ll write a diary now, but it will be brief, or I’ll be in trouble with curly.
Hi Folks. I am so glad to be back among the land of the living. My flu got much worse and I was completely out of it for several days. I have missed you all but am now back!!!! I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!! Mine is better for having gotten to know my pals here at the pond. I did do a Thanksgiving podcast. To any who did not get named in the show, it wasn’t that I wasn’t thinking of you, it was that I did not have enough time or brain cells to be able to name everyone but you all have a special place in my heart!!!!
Were your ears ringing? We were talking about you and wondering how you were doing. Glad you’re feeling better and hope you have a splendid Thanksgiving.
I actually sort of enjoy this weather. It’s moody, a little exciting and it makes for great snuggling….with the dog.
Yeah, the wind finally died down but it’s still coldish and dreary. We had steady 30mph winds with gusts up to 50 for most of two days, and lots of cold rain. I got out of my car yesterday and had to use every ounce of my upper body strength to hang onto the car door to keep it from whacking the car next to me. I was laughing my ass off the whole time thinking that anyone who was watching me was probably doing the same.
I rather not take any chances, plus I think FMom has got what I got, so I don’t think she is going either. It’s not like we don’t see everyone that will be there all the time anyway. Just as long as they remember to bring lots of food by here. š
You’ve probably coughed up several years’ worth of tar and nicotine. Think of it as a good thing. I know a couple of people who quit smoking after having a bad chest cold and not being able to smoke for several days. Maybe it’s a good kick in the ass. š
Hi KB and thanks. Just one of my two yearly very bad colds. Today is my day for the cafe and being the trooper I am, I decided to show myself today. š
So far I’m having a very nice Thanksgiving. We did our housecleaning yesterday. And did a lot of the prep work for dinner. Since we’re not planning to eat until 5-ish we don’t have to get the Turkey in the oven until noon or so.
I think we’ll go to “the other house” and work on the yard for a couple of hours either this morning or after we put the Turkey in the oven.
And I want to watch Pride and Prejudice sometime today or tonight. Or at least this weekend.
I’m very sorry that you still aren’t feeling well enough to join in your family Thanksgiving. That seems especially hard on a family man like you.
Sounds like you have a full day ahead. I hope you enjoy all of it.
Me missing all the family is no big thing. I probably see them more than I want to most of the time. š I will feel sorry for FMom if she isn’t up to it though.
I’ll be calling out to the farm house telling them not to forget to bring FMom and me plenty of food. Not just one little plate either. I want enough to last for a week. š
Good morning all. Happy Turkey Day! Glad you’re feeling better, refinish.
No parade watching for us unless my mom wants to see it at her place later. We took AG’s advice and shut off the tv in Sept. Can’t say I’ve missed it much. Someday I’ll get an outside antenna for the local PBS station so we can take in an occasional Sunday BBC mystery. Until then, the local library has a nice, free video and DVD collection.
Happy Turkey Day and thank you!!!!! I will be working on some designs later today and start redoing my design stores as the 06 election season is over. LOL
My grandson (age 5) thinks this is the funniest picture ever. In fact he used it in a Thanksgiving art project in his kindergarten class, so now there are about 25 kindergarteners who think this is the funniest picture ever too.
Well, you just let him know on behalf of the Omir family that this is America, and in spite of the best efforts of the Bush administration this is still a free country, and he is entitled to his opinions, even when they are so manifestly wrong.
Or, you could just tell him I said “Is too! Nyaaaah!”
I’m staying home. Still got a bad cold and I don’t want to spread it around to the rest of the family. However, I’ve already let them know I want multiple plate of food bought here. š
Usually everbody comes here, so we don’t have to travel any. My sister and s-i-ls do a pretty good job of getting everything set up and going, so for me it’s nothing but eat, sleep, watch some tv, eat, sleep, watch some tv. Huh, I guess it just another normal day for me. š
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Be careful on the roads and don’t eat too much. What am I saying? Be careful on the roads and take seconds even if you’re not hungry.
to everyone (and sympathy to those who are working) from me, Jim, the Pack, and — of course, Marmotdude.
Happy Turkey Day Miss Andi to you, Jim and the Pack!!!!!
How are you feeling? It’s been quiet without you here in the mornings.
I’ll have to add this to my lists today: I’m thankful I’m not eating Marmotdude!
Wow! {{{shudder}}
No marmots were injured in the making of this picture. š
oh that’s just … wrong
Hi Mary.
wrong is what I do best.
Good morning, Andi (?).
Great picture, as usual.
Dawn is just starting here in NY. It’s raining outside and the forecast also warns of possible heavy winds. Not exactly prime conditions for the Macy-parade.
And Happy Thanksgiving to all!

you presume correctly.
Happy Working.
The woods are lovely.
Err, for a moment I thought that little pic looked like a stuff Marmatude. Surely not (I”m not wearing my glasses, can’t find th em at the moment).
Happy T’giving, at any rate.
You’re seeing fine — Marmotdude is a talented mimic.
But seeing clearly or not, morning. It was a very very short night. Certain folks left the cafe in a bit of a mess, partying well into the wee hours.
Must take a nap soon to make up for the lost sleep!
Have fun today, Andi, Ask – look forward to that diary, Ask.
Hehe, I read the late night cafe earlier.
Diary is up!

LOL No burning ears but I knew… Thank you!!!!
I’m listening to your podcast right now. Damn, how come all the sexy guys are gay? Sigh.
ROTFLMAO!!!! I don’t know about being sexy but thanks!!!!
I think fighting for freedom for the underdog is very sexy. š
LOL Well, I must be damn sexy then. Been it doing most of my life.
Glad that you are well and good to have you back, rf!
The morning cafe has often been quiet lately…
LOL I bet it has been.
Sure am glad to see you back and hear that you are feeling better.
Thank you Miss Andi!!!!!
The weather here is icky, but we’re going to have fun anyway. It does feel weird to not be cooking.
Refinish, the CBs are dancing around the kitchen to the song on your podcast. š
What kind of odd teenagers do you have that they’re up at 8:30 in the am?
They’ve actually been up since 6:30. It’s a genetic disease.
I have always been teh same way. Use to hate getting up if I had to but on a day I didn’t I was up with teh sun. Now I am up by 5 am everyday. LOL
I love the quiet of early morning. But now that the boys have discovered my secret, it’s not so quiet any more. š
Well, The Diva Dogs want breakfast early and then they go back to sleep. LOL
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hey KB – nice to see you! And I hope you have a very good Thanksgiving as well. š
LOL I am glad they like the music!!!
I hope things are going well.
Good morning everyone. I hope everyone has a big T’giving planned today.
Happy Thanksgiving FamilyMan!!!!! Please give FMom a big thanksgiving hug!!!! Hope you have a great one!!!!
You too refinish.
Thank you!!!
XXOO
Jeebus, I was getting ready to call you to see if you were still breathing.
Doing better. How’re you doing? I saw the weather is pretty bad there.
Sorry you have been under the weather Familyman.
thanks RF. It’s just that time of the year I guess. š
Yes it is. I think over half the people at work have been out with the flu, bronchitus or pneumonia in the last month.
Happy Thanksgiving! What are your biig T-day plans?
My plans are staying home. The whole family will meet out at the farm house, but I don’t want to give everbody a cold, so I’ll be here.
I don’t want to spoil your antisocial plans, but I think you’re over the contagious part of your cold. Maybe I’m wrong. Just don’t lick anyone.
Especially not family. LOL
I rather not take any chances, plus I think FMom has got what I got, so I don’t think she is going either. It’s not like we don’t see everyone that will be there all the time anyway. Just as long as they remember to bring lots of food by here. š
Am glad to see you’ve joined refinish in returning to land of the living.
How are you feeling?
All ready to chow donw and nap a lot?
I would love to chow down and nap, but I would really love to stop coughing for a while. I don’t see how there could be anything left down there.
You’ve probably coughed up several years’ worth of tar and nicotine. Think of it as a good thing. I know a couple of people who quit smoking after having a bad chest cold and not being able to smoke for several days. Maybe it’s a good kick in the ass. š
A good thing! Now I got to start all over again to get back to where I was. š
I will admit the thought of a cig isn’t something appealing at the moment.
Embrace that feeling, FM. š
Gotta go to the muddy dog park before the dog implodes with pent up puppergy.
Enjoy your dog poop express.
See ya later.
But I’m glad you’re feeling well enough to visit here.
Hi KB and thanks. Just one of my two yearly very bad colds. Today is my day for the cafe and being the trooper I am, I decided to show myself today. š
I hope you’re having a good T’giving day today.

Good to see you back too, FM.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too ask. I hope you have an excellent one today.
Good morning all. Happy Turkey Day! Glad you’re feeling better, refinish.

Morning Indianadem.
Sorry you’re feeling lousy. There’s a respiratory hack thing making the rounds here too.
Thanks, it made the rounds and set up camp here. Hope it bypasses ya’ll.
This is too cute!!!!!! Happy Turkey Day!!!!!
Looks like two of our county commissioners š
Great picture Omir. Happy Thanksgiving.
The 7 year old boran2 boy is just oh-so-sophisticated and says that it is not in fact the funniest picture ever.
Well, you just let him know on behalf of the Omir family that this is America, and in spite of the best efforts of the Bush administration this is still a free country, and he is entitled to his opinions, even when they are so manifestly wrong.
Or, you could just tell him I said “Is too! Nyaaaah!”
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving MM. Beautiful flowers.
Thanks, FM!
Your welcome MM. I hope you have a great day planned.
You should be. Those are beautiful flowers!
Thanks, Omir! HT!!
but I blew the pic up really big and I still couldn’t find the frog.
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
Frogs can hide when they want to!!!!
Good morning all. That’s a nice photo.
Morning Boran. Got the table set yet?
No, we’re travelling to a relative today. How about you?
I’m staying home. Still got a bad cold and I don’t want to spread it around to the rest of the family. However, I’ve already let them know I want multiple plate of food bought here. š
I hope that you feel better soon. I’d actually prefer to stay home today and relax. The holidays get me kind of crazy lately.
Usually everbody comes here, so we don’t have to travel any. My sister and s-i-ls do a pretty good job of getting everything set up and going, so for me it’s nothing but eat, sleep, watch some tv, eat, sleep, watch some tv. Huh, I guess it just another normal day for me. š
Sounds good to me!
We’ll be travelling to Brooklyn later. Yikes!
Yikes for sure. Ya’ll be safe and have a good time.
Thanks!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Be careful on the roads and don’t eat too much. What am I saying? Be careful on the roads and take seconds even if you’re not hungry.
You have a good one too Mary.
Happy T-Day, Mary!
I think I’ll go open up a new cafe.
Back in a minute.
Froggy Bottom Thanksgiving Cafe here
