Rot in hell, diablo!
Like other despots before him (and undoubtedly those who come after him) I have four words: he won’t be missed.
And as terrible as Pinochet was, we should never forget that it was our CIA that put him in power, effecting a coup against the popular, liberal Salvadore Allende in one of the most heinous crimes against humanity the agency has commited.
David Atlee Phillips, a key character in the story of the JFK assassination, was actively involved in the Allende takedown as well, as detailed in the book “Death in Washington” by Donald Freed. Phillips sued Freed for defamation, but ultimately he settled the suit for $1 (which of course, we weren’t supposed to know, but secrets, as the Haitians say, are like water in a clay pot – they always seep out.)
.
Coup against socialist Salvador Allende, thanks to ITT and Kissinger. The U.S. pulling the strings in the Americas through support for dictators in the days of the Cold War. In the era of the Neocons, nation after nation turns towards left socialist regimes, as the neocons focus on Arab states with oil, Israel and the Middle East.
"But I will not let myself be reduced to silence."
As I said on Steve Gilliard’s News Blog:
“Orlando Letelier, Salvador Allende, Pablo Neruda, Charles Horman, and Victor Jara have certainly been waiting for his ass on the other side…”
I’m sure they have something for him.![Mwah Ha Ha](http://iconhell.com/i/iconhell_surrealthoughtz_mwahahaa.gif)
Wanna bet it won’t be Hershey kisses and flowers?
What goes around, comes around.
Murderer.
Well said!
They are waiting, along with thousands of others, dead, missing, died in sorrow not knowing where their missing family members were. . .
As much as I hate the bastard, I did not want him to die before he was convicted for some of his many crimes.
Pinochet dies on the day of Human Rights. So there might be some justice after all.
Pagina 12 in it’s cover says: What did Hell do to deserve this?
What did Hell do to deserve this?
Oh, that’s good.
I wish he’d have died in a prison, but I’ll take infamy.
into my wine collection now :)? It’s sort of tough right now because I really don’t care much for California reds and the Australians run a little too hot too…..and I have to hide the fuggin French stuff and only drink it in private in the bathtub :).
If you like reds you should try Navarro Correa and the Don Valentin from Argentina. (I’m a little biased when it comes to reds 🙂
I will try them. In the Chilean wines I love Los Vascos. I shared some with CabinGirl when I visited her and she thought it was pretty fine too. Wrote your wines down. When I try them we will have to converse. Christmas season seems a fine reason to try a new wine from some of my Southern neighbors ;).
Feliz Navidad MT 🙂
