The below was taken from a recent posting by Ilona, I also had a recent posting about these shows, you can find one here , this is actually an updated, with corrections, post of a previous one a few days before.
From Ilona:
This past Sunday, Robert Roerich, MD (who graces my upcoming book, Moving a Nation to Care, with a compelling Foreword if I may say so myself), Kay Shepherd of ePluribus Media , and myself taped what I hope you agree is a solid starting point for our push to get the issue of combat PTSD not only on everyone’s lips, but in their hearts and into their hands — not minds, because what we now need is action — as well.

What Is “About Face”:
“About Face” is a program brought to you by the Phoenix Chapter of Veterans For Peace. … The program “About Face” addresses the issues and concerns of our veterans returning home from the war and military. For example, we discuss issues such as the number of homeless veterans and programs that provide assistance, counseling, and training to help these heroes get another chance in life. We discuss the effects of PTSD and how sufferers of this disorder can get help.
About This Show:
We leave listeners with calls to support the Joshua Omvig Suicide Prevention Act (HR 5771) and the ‘Lane Evans’ bill, the Comprehensive Assistance for Veterans Exposed to Traumatic Stressors Act of 2005 (HR 1588), and my ePM collaboration work on the PTSD Timeline. You would think that with an hour we’d have plenty of time to cover everything, but boy did we only scratch the surface on this incredibly complex issue.
If in the Phoenix AZ area, Tune In on Sunday, if not in that area you can Stream it Live at above Link!
The Saturday radio program is a taped program and can be listened to at the Progressive Radio Station on your puter at the Link above!
Thanks for the links Jim!
The responses again, as I’ve got Explorer7 loaded up.
And for some Unknown reason this is the Only Site I’m hitting that it has that effect, something tells me it has to do with the ads.
Reading a Diary is fine, except the replys, and most of the ads are missing. Typing this is fine as to layout of page, it just has something missing when it goes into individual postings.
So those that can read this Listen in Tonight and Tomorrow to ilona!
IE 7 won’t work at BT…nor, I think, ET. You’ll have to open in the older v…works in firefox too, if you have that. Free download vailable HERE.
peace
I can get a clip of the ends, far right side.
Like I said to booman, over at KOS, got too much crap on this machine now, and when I had FireFox I was just only slightly impressed with that as I was with Netscape, and didn’t like that browser at all!
not booman but Rub I had told.
By The Way…
The ads all shift to the Right Side. The only thing on the left is the Booman Tribune Logo at the top, blank below that.
As always jim, thanks for the diary and the links.
I read another article a few days ago(can’t find it right now)about sending troops with PTSD back to Iraq-even though they are out of service-getting called back(back door draft) and ones who were given 70% disability for PTSD. According to military doctors this practice is becoming common-there really are no words for how horrific and hideous this is. There are no winners in this situation, not the soldier who has PTSD nor other soldiers relying on her or him nor any Iraqi civilian who may get mowed down by this person.
To say nothing of the fact that if this soldier does make it back alive his or her mind may be so broken as to never recover. Leading to more broken families, homeless vets-who can’t get help and the incremental destruction of the fabric of life for the whole country. Every person in the chain of command who allows a person in this condition to be sent back to Iraq should be tried on some sort of criminal charge.
If bush and Rummy had set out to purposely destroy the military they couldn’t have done a better job than they are doing now…and I doubt that Gates will be any better. The enemy isn’t in Iraq it’s right here starting with bush/cheney and on down to all the neo-cons in our government.
