How’s your day gone?
My day is going fine, thank you.
We got up and made some chicken-wire guards to go around recently planted native shrubs and small trees. They are not species that the hoppies are fond of eating, so we planted them without protection – and they got nearly plucked clean. Better late than never, we’ve fenced them off, so that they can recover in relative peace.
We’re having a warm week, so outside work needs to happen either early or late. Especially since our UV levels this time of year never fall below “extreme.”
And I’ll take a nap on the couch before going home-never mind the snoring.
Hi Soup. Nap it is and we have champion snorers in the Cafe, so no problem.

Here`s the “virgin” Moonrise from tonight. I couldn`t get the skyline in the shot but got a transmitting antennae near one of my friends house across the canyon.

Okay. I got my new camera, took a few initial photos and then without reading the manual decided to get creative. Set the camera to take RAW since that’s supposed to be “the ultimate” for prints. Photos look good in the camera view screen. CAN’T DOWNLOAD THEM TO THE COMPUTER. Yikes!!! I plugged in the cable like always, turned the camera on like always, and like always, the computer searched for a software to do the download. It selected Adobe Photo Album like always. The software saw only the first image on the camera, one described as normal rather than the rest which were RAW.
HELP!
Well, now I feel like an idiot. I got PictureProject to download the RAW images after all. I guess just complaining clears the brain so things start working.

Try again using the setting just below “raw”. Raw is a very large file. I don`t know if you have a Mac, or one of the many others.
You can most certainly do without “raw” for now. You may notice the difference if you were printing 5 feet by 8 feet.
Thanks Knucklehead. Whew! I’m breathing again. 5’x8′ eh? Okay, I don’t need that yet. I’m not ready to print wallpaper. LOL. I did get some really cool photos though, including some gulls in flight, stopped, no wing motion. I’m going to have a ball with this, I can tell.
Isn`t it exciting. It`s a jump to go to your new camera. Just keep shooting. I usually shoot maybe 100 pix a day. It`s not like you`re wasting film. I can`t wait to get my D80, although I`m getting along very well with the D2H. I can`t wait to get my speedlight.

I’m experimenting. I’ve been trying to get my old lens to work with no luck. Everything appears to be ready to go until I actualy click the shutter. It refuses and I get an “r-EE” error message. I’ll look it up and see what it means.
Also, I’m thinking I’ll need another lens (gulp) in order to take my favorite macro shots. I see Olivia gets her macros with a 50 mm. The lens that came with my camera is a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-135mm 3.5-5.6G ED
None of that has much meaning for me.
