The only way to excise the madness of King George is rebellion. No, not me and you in streets with pitchforks to chase the monster from our midst.
I mean rebellion through the legal provisions as provided by our Constitution.
I was fine to let the process take its course and let the Democrats do their thing with thorough investigations, hearings and then, if the evidence showed, articles of impeachment. I was content – as long as George Walker Bush was brought to heel and his administration rode into irrelevance – to uncover the truth for posterity and punish our embarrassment in due process.
Justice is important, but truth is imperative.
And I’m still for due process, but now, I think the ankle biter’s brigade should quicken the pace of reckoning because George Walker Bush and those who pull his strings, which is as easy as a Chatty Cathy doll, have proved out of control and unwilling to accept the will of the people over their zealous pursuit of ever changing objectives, which have achieved nothing for anyone but billionaires and bullies.
I tend to agree with those who say the strategeryists in the White House see the fruition of their grand plan to remake a New Middle East (Oil Supply) in their image threatened by a legacy of complete and utter failure with no political base, no mandate for anything but resignation and no leg to stand on except vapid rhetoric and meaningless gestures. So, they are accelerating their plan for escalated and expanded war in oil country.
It’s not that the Emperor has no clothes, but that his flesh has burnt off in the sunshine of transparency and all that’s left is a skeleton escaped from the closet. He tries to act normal as if nothing is amiss and continues on, business as usual, and for a while he thinks he’s getting away with it, but he mistakes our silence for his success at pretense, while we watch in incredulous horror at the macabre spectacle of a dead president walking. George Walker Bush is our Zombie king.
He is like one of those dispossessed spirits Jennifer Love Hewitt is always running into who don’t know they’re dead.
We’ve got to help George Walker Bush into the light. And the best way to do that is bring the son-of-a-bitch back to reality.
The Unitary Executive is the idea of Americans without a clue. George Walker Bush may have yearned to be our dictator; he certainly has acted like one with impunity and without oversight. But, he was never our dictator. He was our bullying president. He was the demagogic dark angel of our worst fears. He was the face of our inability, through eternal diligence, to maintain our liberty. He was a mistake, an anomaly and a brush with soul-catching Orwellian prophecy. He was devil’s advocate to our better natures. George Walker Bush was many things and none of them good, but he was never our dictator.
He is our servant if only we dare lay claim to our birthright as citizens to form a government of, by and for our own desires and dreams and not the whimsy of madmen.
George Walker Bush works for us and he’s failed miserably. He has a contract for two more years? Buy him out. No prison in exchange for his exile to Crawford.
But, the sure thing is, the obvious thing is that the American People want a change of Administration. We want this bum thrown out.
His continuance in office, second by second, is a guarantee for more death, destruction and abandonment of humanity by our government, and by extension, me and you.
It’s not a question of whether he deserves impeachment, conviction and removal from office. He deserves the justice of the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
There is no question of this. Bush burps and another war crime is committed directly attributable to his illegal pursuit of wars of aggression, rejection of the Geneva Conventions and unconstitutional oppression of the “people’s” explicit, enshrined and immutable rights, codified, ratified and set in stone.
It’s not like you can’t legislate universal health care AND hogtie, brand and set out to pasture our rogue president; our national shame.
Clinton was impeached for lying about an affair. Nixon would have been impeached for illegally spying on his political enemies and George Walker Bush should be impeached for the harm he’s done to this nation, his office and to the millions around the world decimated by his shortsighted, irrational and cruel policies.
Half a million Iraqi dead or “I did not have sex with that woman.”
Doesn’t seem like rocket science to me.
All the chatter indicates that not only is George Walker Bush bound to ignore the wishes of his employers, but has plans to escalate the stakes of his folly and increase the dissatisfaction of those to whom he is constitutionally beholden.
There are all kinds of political reasons not to impeach the president. We’ve heard them all.
But all those reasons pale in comparison to the one reason we should impeach him.
He is a real danger to our nation; his policies have been a disaster from A-to-Z; he is a menace to the health and welfare of the peoples of the world.
It is our patriotic duty as citizens of the United States of America to fire our commander-in-chief for dereliction of duty, negligence and malfeasance.
Anything less is irresponsibility to our country and the nation’s future.
What keeps you up at night?
The specter of an Osama car bomb or the legacy of George Walker Bush?
For me, it is simple.
The lesser of two evils is not the current president of the United States.
Impeach Bush.
