Unity08

The Jan/Feb Atlantic magazine has a interesting article on the formation of a third part named Unity08. Its intent is to nominate a more bipartisan president for the 2008 election. All voting will be done on the internet.  When the list of candidates has been narrowed to 4, they will be asked to chose a vice president they think they can work with from a different national party. The Rules Committee appears to be truly bipartisan. The objective is to involve more people in the nomination process, move the the country to a more moderate position on the political spectrum and to reduce the cost of running for president. I have joined. There is no commitment to vote for the candidate that is nominated.  Check it out at:
