This is a small thank you to all the Booman Tribune readers who have provided support of plug-in hybrids by Voting for the Volt. When I first asked for help in pumping up the numbers in a poll located on a GM/Chevy website I could never have imagined that you all would have come through so powerfully.

The poll stood at about 25,000 after being up for what I believe was a few weeks. The night before I made the request the negatives in the polls had suddenly rushed forward. No doubt this was because of some organized effort by some nefarious group against cleaner energy. After I requested for help the poll rose to 50,000 votes the next morning. Frankly, I was floored at the response. By the end of the day the poll had doubled thanks to you all. Every day the poll would increase 50,000 until tonight where it stands at about 215,000. Let me say that again in words. TWO HUNDRED FIFTEEN THOUSAND!!! My cup over flows. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Even though that number is big and undeniably positive to the interest there is for plug-in hybrids, nothing says big like saying a million. We won’t get there over night this time. At least I don’t think so. I was wrong in my first expectation of 100,000 votes. But, I hope when I wake up tomorrow morning I will see a quarter of a million votes. That number will be irrefutably powerful. Say it to yourself. A quarter of a million dollars. Sound a whole lot better than 215,000. So, I ask you, if you can muster up a little more strength, to keep voting. Tell other people that they need to vote. By tomorrow morning before the Washington, DC Area auto show opens. I really want to see the vote at that level. Not that GM will produce a plug-in electric hybrid, they may or may not. But looking at that big of a number, if GM doesn’t someone else will surely do it.

Thank you again and remember to vote. Sincerely, Joseph Lado
