Hey Andi.
I’ve been writing, editing and formating from sun up ’til well past sundown, and now I’m off to bed – so that I can get up and do it all again tomorrow. Yay.
‘Night all.
Hello, everyone. I have been posting a lot at Swing State Project, as I am trying to prepare everyone for the 2007 Louisiana elections. But I forgot to take my anti-depressant for three straight days, and this has disrupted my schedule.
I am also engaged in a Google bombing project against a Republican Rep. from Louisiana who plans to run for Governor this year. His name is Bobby Jindal, and I detest him.
I hope everyone is doing well.
Don’t know why but for some reason I find myself wondering just how you really feel about Bobby Jindal. 😉
It’s too early to be awake. I don’t know how you do it everyday Andi and CG. 🙂
Neither do I. 🙂
Lovely picture up there, olivia.
to waking up is not all appealing.
Um, I thought the alternative to waking up is snuggling and going back to sleep?
For some reason that just made me remember a line from Golden Girls –
The OLD old lady, Bea Arthur’s mother was saying how her body works like a clock – ‘every night I fall asleep at 10:00 and every morning, like clockwork, I pee at 5:00 AM – the trouble is I don’t wake up until 7:00’
yes and that makes this shorter version: the alternative to waking up is not waking up. 😉
that’s what I’m talking about … 🙂
especially when it’s -24C/-11F … and -28 w/ wind … brrrrrrrrrrr
I’ll have a cup of strong coffee and a poppyseed bagel with cream cheese. And not that low fat shit.
Looks like a tuesday to me. Yup, a tuesday.
MMM, I’ll take one of those. Can I have mine with nova, please?
How’s the laptop doing today? Still working okay?
to pack for your trip?
Nah. I still have to finish my workbook and letter to Randy. Plus, it’s only for a couple of days, so packing shouldn’t be a big deal, right? Right?
Maybe I SHOULD get the laundry started, though. 🙂
to instill some good habits that I don’t have — I usually wait till about 1/2 hour before I leave to start packing.
Clean clothes are overrated.
Laptop is great except for a sticky shift key.
Aren’t you excited about this weekend?!
Has the weather in that area gotten any better?
I’m excited to see Randy, and wondering how he’s changed. Is he taller, thinner, more in shape, what? And wondering how the experience has changed his outlook on things. El Paso, meh.
I think weather was better for the past few days, but it’s getting wet again.
He is going to be soooo glad to be home and warm and have someone make his meals for him.
But he’ll be different too – maybe you won’t be able to put your finger on it, but he will be.
Maybe he’ll take the trash out without reminding? And could I please have a few days before the mouth starts again?
Maybe he’ll be excited to do his homework….nah.
I’m taking one of his favorite art pieces to be framed today for a surprise.
It will be interesting to hear about his experiences … It seems like he’s been away a long time.
I’m really looking forward to hearing his take on things.
I have shared with you some of the trials I’ve had with Randy’s slightly older female version that God blessed me with. This weekend she was such a damned poop. I thought to myself, well I guess she isn’t through all this garbage yet so maybe we need to send her to Texas but the whole thing had a very short shelf life. She was in her bedroom pouting and I went in and asked her if we could talk like real human beings now and a real human being appeared before me. Very freaky when they do that shift thing, beats tantrum mania though.
Wow, I could go for the ability to talk and reason like real human beings. 🙂
How’s her Subway job working out?
(check your email.)
She wasn’t that excited about working at Subway, and in spite of her faults that drive me crazy my daughter is amazing with little kids and loves being with them. Gold’s Gym phoned her yesterday wanting her to interview today to babysit in the Gym. The hours are so plumb too, four weekdays after school with plenty of time for homework and a half day on Saturday morn. A damned high school job where you can even squeeze in a social life? She’s doing backflips…boyfriend is pouting now. Upset because she isn’t ashamed that she would rather be with little kids than making sandwiches with him. I say GO GIRL!
Sounds like a much better job!
I am having a go-round with CBtY’s teachers today about his missing schoolwork from when he was sick last week. From the latest email from Mr. Spencer, the math teacher (cc’d to all teachers and guidance counselor):
Is it just me, or is this guy being a condescending jerk, insinuating that no one here knows how to allocate their time?
Of course, Mrs. Harris the language arts teacher had told me to have Jesse focus on completing the historical fiction project first, as it was the most important part of the packet of homework that was sent home.
I responded thusly, and cc’d everyone as well.
Aaaargh! Small vent…if you don’t desire at the bottom of your heart of hearts to enable children to find their way to success and release them into the world as capable of finding their way why are you a teacher of children?
to give us anchor in the week. Okay I lied — it’s really because I just like having olivia’s flower pics to post.
What’s blooming here right now is witch hazel-I have a branch of the cultivated variety on the kitchen table and it’s red instead of yellow-wild! Wish my camera was working and I knew how to post photos…
Cold and clear for nearly two weeks and it warms up in the afternoon-we Portland puddle jumpers are suddenly more cheerful than usual!
Thursday night/Friday morning will mark the old pagan festival of Imbolc, the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. We’ll be having a dinner party but we may forgo the custom of driving our cattle between two fires. How about you?
Since my asthma is now finally under control I’m planting out! I’m going to try some air layering this spring on a beautiful dwarf chinese maple outside. I was worried about my poppies not germinating but finally a little cold arrived so they should do well and I have Danish Flags coming which I think are gorgeous. I hope to remember my camera this afternoon so that I can take a photo of a plant and maybe someone here can help me identify it. It is on the way to my son’s school sitting on someone’s porch and I have no idea what it is but would like to grow one.
Forgot to get the chicken out of the freezer, so packing off the spouse to the store to get another pkg. so I can finally make that Chicken & Mushroom Stew I’ve been craving the past couple of weeks. As long as I get it cooking by about 11:30 or noon, we can eat around 6:30 to 7 — will give me time to throw together a green salad after “Countdown”.
Trying to figure out what to tackle first — got way too much crap to do today…
I’m not sure I thanked you for your comment a coupla days ago about my 9/11 memories post (and the hugs, of course.)
So if I didn’t thank you here it is and this:
