Questions:
Do antiwar protests matter?
Is Scooter Libby’s boss the biggest scumbag in the Bush adminsitration?
Will Hillary triangulate her way to the Democratic party’s nomination?
Is Iran the next war?
Is there no limit to his power that President Bush will accept?
Did you know the FBI is doing the same type of surveillance of your internet activity with which the NSA has been charged?
My answers: Yes, Yes, I hope not, Yes, No, and Not until this morning:
Instead of recording only what a particular suspect is doing, agents conducting investigations appear to be assembling the activities of thousands of Internet users at a time into massive databases, according to current and former officials. That database can subsequently be queried for names, e-mail addresses or keywords.
Why did you say no on Iran War?
I messsed up my count of the questions. Revised now.
I just read through all this morning’s testimony in the Libby case. Addington is still on the stand, under cross, and Judy Miller is qued up in the wings.
Is it still being transcribed at firedoglake?
Steven,
could you kindly take a look in my diary and see what it is that I did in my second update with the pictures that’s effed up the comment threads please?
Thanks in advance…
It loads ok for me. What’s the problem you’re experiencing?
The comments are stacked directly on top of one another. Any idea why I see it that way and you don’t? It’s not a big deal, just hard to follow who’s replying to who.
It might have something to do with your display setting. Set it to nested and see if that helps.
Also, certain browsers have trouble with extended threads.
Good point.
I’m using firefox and it works for me.
It’s not the setting because I always keep it nested and it’s not extended threads because it happened right after I did the second update. Like I said, no big deal. I’ll figure it out.
Thanks again.
Sorry I couldn’t help ya. I looked at the html code you used, but that seemed fine to me, and I couldn’t see how that would mess up the thread below anyhow.
do you have an errant center tag floating around? looks that way … if you can’t find it, try sticking a closed center tag at the very end of your diary text … < / center > (removing spaces of course)
I love your brain! :o) May I borrow it for awhile? LOL Do you remember the scene from Young Frankenstein when Gene Wilder is asking Marty Feldman where he got the monster’s brain from and Feldman said it was from a flask labeled Abby…Abby…normal? LOL! That’s me :oP
That was it. Thanks so much :o)
You might be overcome by a serious longing for chocolate … oh, and an eye for inner bits … 😉
not the way they are organized in this country.
i have said many times they are nothing more than parades complete with puppets and porta potties.
if you want a protest to matter you have to pee on peoples lawns, burn their cars, stop traffic, and make an economic impact on the walmarts of the country.
then they would matter.
Bloggers must really scare BushCo…
Question: Although the netroots has documented Bushco’s assault on the Constitution and the Dem Presidential candidates have “tsk, tsk”ed that power grab, have any of them been pressed on what they would actually do about it in the event they became President? As a Senator or even as a non-office holder like Edwards, it’s easy to rail at the “unitary executive” but what about when that person actually becomes President and sees those power levers that are now there for the manipulating? The cat is now out of the bag. Those levers exist thanks to Bush and his rubberstamp Congress but–they still exist. How do we pressure a straight answer and a promise from this bunch? It’s not likely that without some kind of forthright statement that a Democratic Party that has been wandering in the wilderness will put pressure on a Democratic executive.
A good diary topic for someone:
Racism is out of the closet again:
Cuz nothing spells fun quite like old school stereotypes (black face) mixing with some new school ones.
wish they had a behind to speak of.
That’s nothing compared to a Stanford frat that threw “the pimp and the prostitute party” in the late Seventies. While it wasn’t blackface, the theme was definitely via blaxploitation films, with high, fat heels on both women and men, pimp hats, halter tops, bellbottoms, hot pants, and afro wigs.
At the time, I sent an photo ad in the Stanford Daily to Ms. Magazine’s ‘No comment’ section. They never picked it up.

Impeachment Song
Chorus:
Let’s impeach George W. Bush, it’s long, long overdue
While were at it let’s make sure to impeach Dick Cheney too.
A pair of world-class criminals
Like you’ve never seen before
Start impeachment right away & stop another war.
Some people say impeachment will tear us apart
Hey, we’re already divided
Let’s make a brand new start
Time to send him packin’ along with his criminal crew
The way he’s screwed this country
What else can we do?
Chorus
If a president can defy the law
Then the law don’t mean a thing
This is still the USA & we don’t want a king.
Finding ways around the law don’t make it OK
Let’s get rid of these bastards–and do it right away.
They tried to impeach Slick Willy,
Because he got a little on the side.
Well, he might have forgotten where to put his cigar,
But at least nobody died.
How does that compare with lying us into war?
If that’s not enough for impeachment
Then what is impeachment for.
Chorus ©Peter Tracy 2006
