I probably could count myself as a lover of broadway musicals but I have a perfect record of having never watched a reality show and I’m not giving it up for Grease (now if it was A Funny Thing or Into the Woods and I might reconsider).
Well, they do sing non-Grease songs. Although last week it was mostly Andrew Lloyd Webber. Not exactly Sondheim! But who knows what next week will bring. I’d love to see them sing some Jason Robert Brown. His show last weekend in NYC brought raves, as usual!
One of my ALLTIME favorites. Hollywood is making a movie version – script by the same guy who wrote (rewrote, actually) “The Aviator.” Should be interesting. I think Johnny Depp is attached! Can he sing???
I just saw The Big Lebowski for the first time. I purchased a Cohen Bros. three-pack, that had Intolerable Cruelty and Oh, Brother, both of which I’ve seen, as the other two films.
I can see that it’s the kind of movie that bears rewatching. We also have Raising Arizona on DVD, and I think it may still be my favorite Cohen Bros. movie, with Fargo (which we also have) running a close second.
Hey dada, I was taken along to a midnight show of Rocky Horror once. I had never heard about it & that`s why I was dragged along. I didn`t get it, but then I started to enjoy it when everybody started throwing what was in giant cups. I threw my large plastic cup of Pepsi over as many people as I could, then realized everybody was throwing popcorn. OOPS!!
I still don`t get it. All my friends in costume [what was that about] were really PO`d at me, then realized I really didn`t have any idea. Oh well,
sue me.
It’s looking like a fine sunny day here, which means I should get some laundry done.
Now that we’ve had both sun and rain, the garden is finally taking off. The tomatoes are litterally laden with green globes of all shapes and sizes (we planted several heritage varieties, plus Black Russian and Mellow Yellow, and lots of Romas).
More to the point the critters did not get the garden this year. We were decimated by break-ins last year. This year’s “gate-guarded vegetable community” has a brick border topped by a wire fence, inside an electrical fence. Take that you varmints!
The lettuce has already bolted and we’re ready to put in a second crop of broccoli. The corn is putting on ears and the squashes are finally fruiting. We’ve got about eight feet by four feet of boysenberry canes that are producing well enough for daily consumption. Yeah, it’s a good garden – finally.
Been working on some designs as usual but none I want to feature here. I sometimes hate doing design work especially when it is candidates I don’t support but cash is cash. LOL
Who’s having what?
of snow, sleet, rain, and freezing rain starting after midnight. Hoo hah, something to look forward to!
Thanks for the preview… 🙂
it’s going to be all snow (about 2 ft) and high winds so hard to say which you’ll get. I hate freezing rain and sleet so I’d rather get the snow.
I was just outside with Geroge in shorts and t-shirt. Yep I could tell there’s a chill in the air.
Any Broadway lovers out there watching “Grease: You’re the one that I want?”
I’m not much for reality shows, but I’m a sucker for a good song and dance man, and Austin Miller has my heart a-pounding..!

Here’s the link to watch Austin in action:

(But this week’s ‘Ease on Down the Road’ was much more of a dance number.)
I’m on dial-up so no joy for me.
Maybe they’ll do Singing in the Rain, best musical ever.
>:)
Damn now I’ll be ‘it’s a hard knock life’ all night.
How about Sweenie Todd? I saw it many years ago with Angela Landsbury and John Hurd and it was spectactular.

is another topnotch sondheim effort.
jeeze…this is the best musical ever
especially if you’ve ever gone to a midnight screening….the audience participation is a hoot, as FM would say…

Let’s do the time warp again . . .
I can’t count the number of times I saw this at the Saturday midnight screening at the Balboa Cinema.
Smuggling in the toast was always the hardest bit.
AHA!….too much fun!
it still shows up here every now and then, though it’s been superseded by the Big Lebowski in popularity….that’s a great midnight flick….
The dude abides….

Blood Simple c.1983…their first major film, to my knowledge…also the black comedy, Barton Fink c. 1991…two of my favorites

sounds like you had a good time though….the pepsi incident was probably written off by those affected as a chemical imbalance…
bet you’d enjoy the big lebowski…

I got that off a shroom site.
I begin to understand the genesis of your online alias!! TEASING!! ;D
I’ll take 27 pop top cans of bud lite and enough axle grease to slick back my hair.
Is that close enough? 🙂
LOL, Family Man! Shhhh – I’m at work!
Oops. I meant 27 volumes of War and Peace. 🙂
Much better!! 😉 (Still snickering though – trying not to LOL again!)
Hello happy froggies.

Hi keres
I take it you’ve got a good garden this year.

Looks like I’m too late for a nightcap. Well Hello and goodnight all. I’ll be back around tomorrow.

Hope everyone has been having a great day!!!!
