Note: Antiwar.com is nearing the end of its quarterly pledge week. If you have some change to spare, I’m sure that the folks behind this excellent resource, as well as its readers, would be most appreciative.
Antiwar.com could use your tips more than me.
Just reading the numbers as always becomes almost numbing. Almost 700 people killed in one week-one week. People now dead who will not be tucking in their daughters or sons to bed at night, or mothers or fathers whose children were killed, aunts and uncles dead and gone, brothers and sisters torn apart or both dead, Grama and Grandpa buried with their daughters or sons if there is anything left of them to bury. Great Aunts and Uncles dead and gone…….are there any left to tend to the people still alive and horribly wounded-almost 700 person wounded who have laughed and cried over the years at theirs son’s or daughters antics, gotten angry at their parents then forgiven them….are they now so wounded their children have to take care of them? Will they eventually die from their wounds…thousands of people in one teeny tiny short week, dead or wounded-never to be the same again, their families never to be the same again…One week of carnage and sorrow…..one week, start adding up the weeks, 365 + 365+ 365…how many lives destroyed and for what? I don’t feel safer, I feel sick.
