Thanks. Why make it so easy?
Had a little, inadvertent nap – great.
About 68 processes running, most of which I have no clue about. Most show 0, others have a low number or fluctuate up to 30, or so.
Sorry I missed this — I’ve been out for a walk in MeltingWorld.
What you are looking for is any process that are using either a lot of cpu or memory. If you don’t know what those processes are, you can google them to find out what they are.
Good morning, ask. I don’t know what to tell you about the computer. We had one get dreadfully slow due to a lot of spyware stuff once (the kids were playing a lot of “free” online games), and it was a nightmare to fix it.
Morning ask. I’ve had the same problems with my laptop to the point that I’ve avoided using it at all of late. Tried deleting all the temp files, defragging the hard drive, etc. but its still agonizingly slow. I’ll let you know if I ever figure it out.
I guess that wouldn’t be a bad thing to try. I can transfer all my good stuff to the network server temporarily and just reload what I want. I suspect a little more RAM wouldn’t hurt, either.
Yeah, it takes a lot to be a worse place to go than Clarinda, Iowa.
Good Weather Alert: we’re going to have a high of 41 today (after a low of 7 this morning) and be in the 40s all week until Friday when it is forecast to be 50.
Good morning to the ponders!!!! I am starting another design project where I will be doing all 50 states for each of the candidates but with just text. LOL I guess you can say I am a glutton for punishment. I plan to set up proofs with each state resident name and some of the more well known nicknames and then just have to add in candidate last name. LOL between doing all of those and getting them uploaded I should be rather busy. LOL
Refinish doesn’t have fingers or arms – he has robotic appendages made of titanium which allow him to work 24 hours a day without working them down to nubs.
ROTFLMAO!!!!! I admit this is a huge project and I will probably regret it before I am halfway done. I have alabamians for done for 3 candidates already this am. I am not sure how many of the pack I will do but I know I want the 3 top contenders for each state done as quickly as possible and will do quite a few of the rest just to be nice and hopefully make some cash. LOL
No worry, The Diva Dogs only get dry dog for except for a rare special treat. The scratching and petting is much easier than all the typing will be. We all know how bad a typist I am. LOL
Enjoy the couch. Once in a great while they get a can of tuna or salmon mixed in with their dry food. Also anytime I am eating tuna or salmon the juice goes into their food, but no canned dog food. I haven’t even bought any canned food with them or the last two dogs I owned.
LOL Well, the text only ones are pretty quick and easy. I now just have to find a list of all the announced dem candidates so I can do all of them. I already have alabamians done for 5 candidates with all the different size(6) images.
Hi olivia! I love your gerbera daisy at your site this morning. I wanted to comment there, but for some reason blogger won’t let me post my comment. Maybe I’ve been banned? 🙂
Nope … no bannings lol. Ever since I made the switch to the new version of blogger people have been having trouble commenting. Not sure what to do about it. But I’ve been looking at putting up my own site on my own domain. A work in progress for sure. 🙂
How are the boys feeling — getting back to normal?
We’ve all been feeling better, but still have the paroxysmal cough thing (it’s less frequent, but still happening) that gives pertussis its bad name.
CBtE spent a lot of time with his friends this weekend (first time he felt well enough since he’s been home), and now he looks a little worn out, so we’re having a quiet day here and doing some grocery shopping later so he can rest up some. At least everybody is well enough for school tomorrow.
No prime ministers day … although it would be nice to have a holiday in February. 🙂
It’s good he got to meet up w/ his friends. Hopefully you’re all going to kick this soon.
When I have troubles w/ the comments at blogger, it helps sometimes when I clear the cache. I think this latest hiccup might be bigger than that though.
Good morning all! Nice photo of the icy tree adornment, JimF. I tried a long shot of the valley in town near the end of the day Fri. but it didn’t do justice to the actual sparkly scene.
I have to drive to Austin to pick up my paycheck. They are printing one out for me. Now that the paper work has been completed, I want go through this again. YEAH!!!!! Luckily for me, the landlord washed the original check I gave him and just came and got a new one Saturday. LOL My dang life seems to keep being a comedy in errors.
dang it. Turns out I have to wait till after 3 eastern time, call and see if it is ready and then drive over. Oh Yee Haw!!!! I get to wind up being in afternoon traffic. Thank goodness today is a hoiliday and a lot of business are closed.
not only do I not sleep in on weekends, I don’t do it on days off either.
::grump::
Good morning, Andi.
Same here, up since 4.30.
More Laptop problems – loading and processing is moving at the speed of cold molasses. I see no ‘Glacial Lock’ key that may accidentally be activated.
Bummer for both of us.
Have you checked task manager for processes with a high percentage of cpu usage? (I assume you already tried rebooting)
Can’t find it on Control Panel – where to look?
Right click on the taskbar and you’ll see task manager.
Andi, you know how it turns me on when you get all technical like that. 🙂
I’m not that kind of morning person so I hadn’t expected it to have that kind of impact.
Yeah, me either. But I figured I’d fake it anyway since it’s Monday and all.
I’m not that kind of morning person either. 😉
Thanks. Why make it so easy?

OT, but you have email…

When we had that problem, we finally solved it by wiping the hard drive and starting over. It was that bad.
I guess that wouldn’t be a bad thing to try. I can transfer all my good stuff to the network server temporarily and just reload what I want. I suspect a little more RAM wouldn’t hurt, either.
It’s a pretty significant time investment.
The second time it happened, I was sick of it and switched to using macs. Never had another problem like that since.
I’m sorry you couldn’t sleep in.
If it makes you feel any better, I’ll be in agony tomorrow trying to get everyone up and out the door before seven.
Occasional agony makes ecstasy seem even better when it comes along.
Heh. I have 6 weeks of weekday morning agony until the next school vacation.
Not llooking forward to it, especially with this 13-degree weather we have this morning.
We’re at 23 right now but heading into the 50s. Yay!
Sorry.
Heh. Just checked and it’ll be in the 70s by Wednesday. Sorry again.
You’re just be cruelt to me now. Either that, or you really need a whole host of houseguests to come and soak up your warm weather…
that should be “just being cruel to me now”.
Need coffee.
Okay, I’ll feel sorry for you tomorrow while I’m driving to the airport but once I get to Bridgeport all my sympathy is going to be going to me. 🙁
Actually, you’ll be getting all my sympathy too. Bridgeport is icky.
Yeah, it takes a lot to be a worse place to go than Clarinda, Iowa.

Rumor has it we’ll be seeing unseasonably high temps later this week.

Just be careful you don’t work your fingers down to nubs because the Diva Dogs need them for scratching and opening cans of dog food.

No canned dog food? The Pack (who split a can each night) are sending messages to the Diva Dogs suggesting a palace revolt.
I think my couch is calling me.
Later.
Enjoy the couch. Once in a great while they get a can of tuna or salmon mixed in with their dry food. Also anytime I am eating tuna or salmon the juice goes into their food, but no canned dog food. I haven’t even bought any canned food with them or the last two dogs I owned.
A Jim photo today! Is that a ‘new lens’ Jim photo — inquiring jealous minds want to know. 🙂
Morning Miss Olivia!!!!!
What’s this I read about your titanium arms … so that’s how you do all those great designs so quickly! 😉
LOL Well, the text only ones are pretty quick and easy. I now just have to find a list of all the announced dem candidates so I can do all of them. I already have alabamians done for 5 candidates with all the different size(6) images.

I’ll just keep trying, then.
We’ve all been feeling better, but still have the paroxysmal cough thing (it’s less frequent, but still happening) that gives pertussis its bad name.

Thanks for asking.
I guess this is a regular work day for you?
No prime ministers day … although it would be nice to have a holiday in February. 🙂

We should all get at least one random holiday a month. We deserve it! I’ll speak to the shop steward about it.
Glad the family is feeling better!!!!!
That one was taken with the old 18-70. The light has been crappy since I picked up the new lens.
Takes a lot of light b/c of the telephoto?
I’m getting antsy. 🙂
Good morning all! Nice photo of the icy tree adornment, JimF. I tried a long shot of the valley in town near the end of the day Fri. but it didn’t do justice to the actual sparkly scene.
Do you have the day off as well?
I’m free from the county job today, but Mrs. Dem has an extensive list…
A busy day then … 😉
Extremely so;-)
Morning Indiandem!!!!!
How’s things in the southern climes this morning?
Sunny and clear here. LOL Keeping busy as usual. LOL
I don’t know how you do it all, rf. I’m still trying to join the Family Man School of Slackerdom, but so far its eluded me.
LOL. It is called being totally nuts.
