My answer to the question: without question – For What It’s Worth, Buffalo Springfield. If you call my cell phone, that’s the song you’ll hear while waiting for me to answer. Your turn!
The best protest song I have heard in years still has to be Pink’s Dear Mr. President.
yep, definitely an instant classic. I love that video too.
HI Man Eegee. I have to admit I cry every time I hear that song. It speaks to me like few protest songs have in years and I am old enough to have heard a lot of them.
Good choice Manny. Among my very top favorites as well, and there are many more.
I’ve probably linked to this one before; Part of the Union by The Strawbs (Hudson/Ford) from the early 70s (1973). Check lyrics.
CSNY’s Ohio is the first one that comes to mind for me.
I’ve been crazy about him since 1963:
Bob Dylan – Masters of War
“You that never done nothin’
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it’s your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly
Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain”
Bright Eyes’ When The President Talks to God — available on the iTunes Store for only 99 cents (and if you use the link on the left side of the front page, BooMan gets a cut)…
This was the number 1 song in the US September 20th, 1970 and still rings true today.
Still learning to use the new camera. Nikon D40 — would love to add a close up lens it on my list of the next things I can afford for $500!
These are stunning!!!!!
Hey, RF! My husband upgraded me to this camera and I am still finding my feet. I wish I knew what works but am still embedded in the process of trial and error.
You are doing great!!!!! Keep experimenting and delighting us with your fabulous pictures!!!!
Thanks again for the encouragement RF! I was truly experimenting with “belly flop photography” a la AndiF and olivia… 🙂
They look great, and you’ll keep learning. Plus, it’s fun to watch the learning process unfold.
My d40 came yesterday, woo-hoo! But, I think it’s a little intimidating trying to figure out how to make it all work, with so many choices for how to use it.
I know at first my reaction was translated by my son as “too many whatchamacallits” but as I move forward I find that learning can be interactive with some success thankfully!
How did I completely miss the WElcome Wagon?
Note to Manny, my hot little studmuffin:
Close the previous cafe so I don’t sit in there alone in the dark waiting for someone to show up. 🙁
ROTFLMAO!!!!!! It is called reading the dairy list.
