You can’t purge all the Latinos from America, because they are just as much a part of the national fabric as anyone else.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. America is the only nation on the face of the Earth where every language is spoken, every religion practiced, every cuisine prepared, every philosophy taught and every race living. The GOP and their minions in the religious right can poo-poo all they want about diversity, but it is what makes Americans, Americans.
But diversity is a tricky word, exactly what is it? I learned it on an empty stomach. Here in Greensboro, NC a few years back, there was a man of mixed race, with a sidewalk sandwich, cart selling goodies to the executive lunch crowd. I saw his menu and it was one of the most American things I have ever seen. No, it wasn’t apple pie or freedom fries, it was kung pow chicken burritos.
THAT is America!
